Empty Promises: The CEO Cunning Bride Chapter 8: Boyfriend Stealer

Every few minutes, Xu Suying will look down the hallway to see if Xiong Jingfei had caught up to them. Except, she was nowhere to be seen. At this point, she was starting to get worried since Xiong Jingfei has been gone for a while now. Xu Suying blamed herself, she knew she shouldn't have left her alone, especially with her awful sense of direction.

The moment when she had made up her mind to go looking for Xiong Jingfei, she saw her running down the hallway straight at her.

When Xiong Jingfei finally stopped next to Xu Suying, she was trying to catch her breath. It was the fastest she had run in a while now. To be honest, she left the room almost ten minutes ago, but it took her this long to find her group.

"Feifei! Why are you running?" Xu Suying patted her back and pulled out a water bottle from her bag. "Ah! Don't tell me someone was trying to do something to you! Who was it? Where? Tell me! I'll go show that b.a.s.t.a.r.d he messed with the wrong person!"

Xu Suying is terrified of ghosts and supernatural things. Though when it comes to human beings, she didn't have an ounce of timidity in her bones for them. Well, who can blame her for being afraid of ghosts? It wasn't like she had a pleasant experience with them.

When she first started seeing them, they would only try to scare her. Over time it only got worse when some tried to hurt her mentally and physically. It's not like every one of them is evil, only those who wanted something out of her.

It only stopped after her parents took her to see a shaman. They tied a red string to keep spirits away and for her not to attract them. She must keep it on at all times and will have to do the ritual every two years. As far as Xiong Jingfei is aware, it worked. Since then, nothing ever happened to Xu Suying, and she no longer sees or hears them.

Xiong Jingfei covered her best friend's mouth to stop her babbling. She didn't even get a chance to drink the water, and yet Xu Suying came on with full attack questions. She needed a moment of silence to recollect her thoughts. Xu Suying and the other questioning guy should have met each other, maybe they could have questioned one another.

"Alright everyone, thank you all so much for coming!" The tour guide smiled, considering he had accomplished his goal for today. He had completed giving them a full tour. "You're welcome to come back and visit anytime!"

"As if," Xu Suying made a side comment in a low voice so that Xiong Jingfei was the only one who heard her. Which she completely understand where that comment was coming from.

This was a rare chance for all of them to get a personal tour and have the museum all to themselves. Plus they got to see almost everything up close and personal. It was hard for people to come and go as they please here. People would have to purchase tickets months and months ahead to get a spot. If you missed the day you reserved the spot, you had lost your chance and will have to wait months again.

The Guiying Hui museum is very popular due to the ″The Great Love Story of Xiong Jingfei' room. It had items to somehow show proof that the story and she must have existed in history.

They were lucky to be given this chance. It was going to be on display for a short amount of time only. The owner of Guiying Hui museum, who is by the way owned by the Yang family, will be taking the artifacts back and storing them away. There was even an article about how Yang Zheyan refused to put any of the items on display. He only gave in after the public convinced him to put it on show for a short amount of time.

"Everyone, take an hour break to have lunch or look around. You must meet us back at the bus within one hour or else!" One of the teachers who tagged along on the trip announced loudly. She made sure everyone heard her, so she won't be hearing any excuses later.

On the way out, Xiong Jingfei and Xu Suying were blocked at the exit by a woman. She has a slim figure with beautiful black curls. Disregarding those around her, she stood in the middle of the door, making others walk around her.

"Yoo, look who we have here! If it isn't Xiong Jingfei?" The woman smirked, crossing her arm with her nose in the air. "Who would have thought you'll make it into this university too?"

Xiong Jingfei never thought she'll run into Zhao Fan here, what a stroke of ill luck. Did she say "too?". Tsk, can't believe they attend the same university and were on the same trip. Seems like they did not have a reason to encounter one another until now. She thanked G.o.d they were not in the same group or else the entire trip would have been dreadful.

"Tsk, say the boyfriend stealer." Xu Suying muttered under breath but loud enough so Zhao Fan can hear. It was intended for her ears after all.

"What did you say?" Zhao Fan's nose flared up and her creamy milk face turned a shade darker.

"You heard what I said!" Xu Suying didn't back down and roared right back.

Xiong Jingfei pulled on Xu Suying's arm to keep her quiet. She knew it was best not to engage in this nonsense conversation with Zhao Fan. They'll be nothing more than a piece of entertainment for the bystander. Plus, Zhao Fan likes to cause problems for them wherever they go.

"Fan, are you ready..." Feng Huan called out to her, walking back into the building when he did not see her walk out. However, seeing Xiong Jingfei after such a long time, he couldn't finish his sentence. "Feifei..."

"Excuse me?" Xu Suying stepped in front of Xiong Jingfei to cover Feng Huan's view of sight. "You dare have the audacity to call her by her nickname? Only close friends and family can call her that!"

Feng Huan was speechless, he was used to calling Xiong Jingfei by her nickname. Although that privilege ended four years ago.

"You are an outsider!" Xu Suying seethed, ready to slap his confused expression off his face. If not for Xiong Jingfei holding her arms, they would have gone flying when Zhao Fan had blocked their way. She also made sure to exaggerate "outsider" too, letting him know he is no longer welcome to be part of Xiong Jingfei's life.

"Feifei... I..." Feng Huan wasn't sure what he wanted to say to her besides repeating her name. Feeling guilty towards Xiong Jingfei, he didn't talk back to Xu Suying who was yelling at him.

Xiong Jingfei ignored his presence completely. She acted like she did not see him or hear him call out her name. Instead, she was comforting Xu Suying who was madder than her.

"Hmph! Feifei, let's go. Shouldn't be engaging in conversation with animals." Xu Suying pushed Zhao Fan out of the way with her shoulders.

Xiong Jingfei smiled and nodded her head in agreement. Holding onto Xu Suying's left arm, they walked out without turning back.

The push Xu Suying gave Zhao Fan wasn't even powerful. Yet, she took it out of proportion and flung herself into Feng Huan's arms.

"It hurts," Zhao Fan whined, holding onto him tightly. If she didn't, she was afraid he'll go chasing after that mute! She helped ended things between them four years ago, and she will keep it that way!
