Luo Xiaolei abruptly pulled back. She was shocked.

Her eyes wide as she looked at him anxiously. "Oh G.o.d, are you alright?!" she exclaimed, her eyes darting back and forth from him to the beeping monitor.

A moment after she pulled back, the monitor reported the restarting of Yu Chen's heart. Luo Xiaolei felt an inexplicable relief but still, she couldn't calm down.

"Are you alright?! Right, I need to call the doctors!" Panicking, Luo Xiaolei turned to leave but again, she was stopped by Yu Chen.

"I'm fine. I don't need any doctor. Just stay with me." His voice was suddenly serious and firm, but there was an indescribable feeling of longing in his voice, causing Luo Xiaolei to just stood there, unable to leave.

"But… you're heart just stopped." She murmured, her eyes not leaving his face.

And then, suddenly, Yu Chen smiled. His face turned dazzling, blinding her. "Are you going to tell them that my heart stopped because you kissed me?" he asked, looking so innocent as he spoke.

His words made Luo Xiaolei immediately at loss for words to say. She didn't expect those words to come out of this man's mouth. 'W-what is this? Why did this suddenly felt like… big panda, are you trying to tease me?'

Somehow, his unexpected statement and the thoughts in her head made her calm down. She finally remembered that this was the same man who had fainted because of a kiss and sweat drops could only fall from her forehead. She sighed and her shoulders finally relaxed.

"I'm sorry." She sighed again, sounding apologetic. "It seems like I'm going to have to be even more careful with you from now on." She added but Yu Chen frowned.

"You don't have to." He sounded serious again.

"I have to. What would I do if something happens to you? What if your heart won't restart again?" Luo Xiaolei didn't even know why she was saying all these out loud. But she just wanted to express whatever it was that she was thinking, no matter how silly it may be.

"You don't have to worry about that. If that happens, all you have to do is give me a mouth to mouth resuscitation and everything will be alright."

Luo Xiaolei: "…!!!"

The room abruptly turned silent. Luo Xiaolei blinked multiple times the moment she heard what Yu Chen had just said and her lips parted in utter disbelief. 'Ww-what did he just say?!!'

Unable to believe what she heard, the first thing Luo Xiaolei did was leaned in closer to him and landed her palm gently on his forehead. Well, this man suddenly spouting something like this was just too shocking she could hardly believe it.

However, his temperature was normal. And the worse thing was the fact that there was no hint of joke in his voice. He sounded utterly serious.

'No, calm down, this big panda is still not fully recovered. That's right, this unexpected shamelessness of his might be just some fleeting side effects.' Luo Xiaolei was shaking her head inside her as she reasoned with herself. Clearing her throat, she tried her best not to get too affected so even though she was fl.u.s.tered, she managed to give him a casual reply.

"Please stop being silly." She said, half-smiling as she retracted her hand away from his forehead. But the man caught her wrist again, looking at her with such a heartbreaking innocence in his eyes.

"I'm not being silly. I'm serious." He uttered softly and Luo Xiaolei's brain froze again for a moment. 'Oh G.o.d! What is happening with this man? Why is he suddenly attacking like this?'

Luo Xiaolei felt like her nose was about to bleed. It seemed like she was not ready with this sudden twist of event.

"A-ahem… O-okay…? B-but, you have to focus on your recovery for now. And you just woke up, I can't possibly make you faint again." She explained, slightly struggling in finding the right word to say but for some reason, Yu Chen just wouldn't budge.

"I don't mind fainting…" He uttered. His voice was almost a whisper but still serious.

"You said you regret not teaching me lots of naughty things… so now that I'm giving you the chance, why are you hesitating?" he continued, slightly tilting his head and Luo Xiaolei choked.

Luo Xiaolei: ". . ."

'Cough, cough! This panda! How could he… Did someone else's soul incarnated in his body or something?! Yu Chen, is this really you?! Oh G.o.d! What am I even thinking?!'

Luo Xiaolei could only face palm herself in her mind. She didn't have any idea on how to even deal with this. But then, abruptly, she held his face gently between her hands.

She stared intently at him as if she was scrutinizing his face. After seeing that his expression remained very serious as it was, Luo Xiaolei looked like she finally snapped. "Yu Chen… you know what? I'm trying my best to behave here because you're currently unwell but if you keep provoking me like this, I might really… I might really a.s.sault you right now, you hear me?!"

Luo Xiaolei flushed the moment she realized her own outburst. But it was too late to back off now. The words had already been said. 'This is your fault you, panda!'

She even sounded a little menacing as if she was a big bad wolf trying to scare a little white lamb. But the white lamb wasn't scared at all. He didn't even flinch, and a speculative look even came into his eyes instead.

Looking at him, Luo Xiaolei didn't know why but invisible veins popped on her forehead. She didn't know why but she was imagining an evil little panda teasing her, saying the words 'oh, are you sure you can?', mischievously, and she lost it.

"You think I'm kidding?" she suddenly uttered, smirking at him. When Yu Chen remained silent, she became serious.

And then, without thinking, she bent to kiss him.
