"Well then, let us go to the main objective of my visit here." Mother Song indifferently said as she set down her cup of tea and straigtened her back to look at her stunning yet emotionless daughter-in-law. She was exuding with elegance and looked so regal that made October not blink her eyes, clearly mesmerized. "I presume you know why I am here, correct?"

"Yes, mother." October slowly nodded her head and also put down her cup on the table as she added in a freezingly calm voice, "It is about our wedding."

"Good, good. I know you caught on to me quite fast. As expected of the woman that my son chose." Mother Song said warmly, quite proud of her son. Suddenly, a sudden light caught her attention. She turned to look at where it came from, she was slightly surprised and then nodded in satisfaction.

October noticed her mother-in-law's gaze and so followed it only to land on her hand. Unconsciously, she clenched her hands to fists and her face turned a little hot.

Mother Song chuckled at the sight before her. 

It is such a feast to my eyes to see my stoic daughter-in-law show such a bashful face. My, spring has finally come for my son,  Mother Song thought to herself and smiled warmly.

"It seems that my son is not stupid as I thought he was considering that he had given you an engagement ring. I hope he did not forget the most important thing, your wedding ring. If he did, then my son is just too stupid despite having such a big brain in his head." Mother Song sighed as she continued to admonish her son in front of his wife. 

October was also completely flabbergasted at this. She did not know that someone could say almost proudly to her own son that he was stupid. She found it hard to say anything and found herself in a difficult situation.

October's fists that were resting on her lap clenched tightly and said with an almost straight face albeit a little embarra.s.sed about it herself, "I think that my husband is really an amazing person. He is still young but is already handling his own company rather well. With that, I can give him the credit of having such a talent in business. Despite him being a little ruthless and merciless, he was also righteous in a way...I think. Also, he does not have any previous connections or scandals with...women...other that me." October's voice turned softer and softer at the end of her sentence. However, it was a fact that she really looked up to her husband. And that is something she had long acknowledged even before they met. Now that she had met him and had even saw the other side of him, she was even more drawn to him, as if sucking her whole body and soul.

"My..." Mother Song covered her slightly opened mouth with her hand as she looked in shock at her red-faced daughter-in-law. Clearly, this young woman was doing her hardest in trying to redeem her husband and told some great qualities in of her, her husband's mother. Was her daughter-in-law thinking that she was belittling her own son? Well, it seemed that she did just that. 

Chuckling in amus.e.m.e.nt, Mother Song warmly and gently said, "Oh dear, I did not know that you hold such great regard on your husband. I'm extremely and pleasantly surprisee at your dedication to your husband. My son is really lucky to have met you and married you immediately. I can't ask for more of my daughter-in-law like you."

"I...I don't think I deserve your kind words." October shook her head. She knew that she has many flaws. It was already her greatest luck and blessing to have met such a persistent man who could accept...and love her wholeheartedly. 

"My child, you are too humble. I'm afraid that you get bullied easily by others. And I heard about your situation with your biological father and his new family." Mother Song said worriedly as she rested her chin on her hand.

"It is not that I let myself be bullied by others. Just that, I don't want to a.s.sociate or mind their narrow-mindedness. To me, they are more like clowns dancing around in front of my eyes." October coldly said in all seriousness. 

That's right. She was indifferrent to all of the schemes and 'bullying' from her family or other people and just does not put them into her eyes. 

"However, I have to remind you that those kinds of people are greedy: give an inch and they'll take a mile. The more you remain indifferent, they would only see it as you being afraid of them." Mother Song adviced. She has to slowly remind her daughter-in-law about this. 

"Yes, mother. I will do as you said. Thank you." October sincerely said as she respected her gorgeous mother-in-law more and more. This advice, she will really take it into heart.

"You do not need to thank me, dear. You are now a member of the family so it is only a given that I'll look after you."

October felt her heart was enveloped with warmth. Had she not met Lexus, she would not have new people that she can  her family.

So this is what it feels like to have a mother,  October thought. She had already forgotten this kind of feeling.

"Well then, let's start." Mother Song smiled brilliantly, almost blinding October at that bright smile. With a clap of her hands, she called, "Uncle Zhukong, please."

"Yes, madam." The head butler, Uncle Zhukong, acknowledged with a slight bow before turning to open the doors of the living room. Soon, maids after maids entered into the living room, each holding boxes after boxes. 

October blankly looked at the scene unfolding in front of here. She was completely clueless what this was. She then gave flitting glances on the boxes their hands before looking at her mother-in-law who was smiling from ear to ear.

Somehow, at the sight of that sweet smile, October felt a s.h.i.+ver ran down her spine. Her heart was even starting to beat nervously. Why was it that she felt like she was currently in danger. 

Swallowing a lump in her throat, October asked stummeringly, "Mo-mother, will Lexus be joining us...right?"

Mother Song chuckled elegantly and looked at her cute daughter-in-law with a s.h.i.+mmer in her eyes. "Of course..."

October heaved a sigh of relief only to sharply suck in some cold air after hearing the rest of her mother-in-law's sentence.

"...not. It would just be the two of us till dinner, dear. My, you do not have to be this nervous, you know?" Mother Song chuckled again and said loudly, "Let's start."

What? Start what?

Suddenly, two maids appeared behind October's back and forecibly yet gently ushering her to stand up and lead to a seperate room. 

Mother Song's smile was so wide because of her excitement. 

"I've always wanted to play dress up with my daughter. Unfortunately, I didn't have any daughters to do that. But now that I have a daughter-in-law, I can finally do that to my heart's content." 

Those were the words that October last heard from her mother-in-law before the door of the seperate room closed behind her. Finally, dread washed over her and her heart dropped. 

What kind of torture will she experience at this time?
