The CEO's Lovely Wife Chapter 23 - 23 Back So Soon

October, having no maids or attendants, have to be the one to keep her apartment clean. She started early morning right after waking up. She also washed her clothes. There wasn't much laundry to do for she rarely dress herself up or go out so it did not take her long to finish it.

October wiped her sweat on her face and neck while looking around her apartment. Suddenly, her eyes fell on the table at the corner. On top of it were a vase of dried up stems and leaves and petals that fell off. She then walked toward it and cleaned the table and threw the dried up flowers on the trash bin.

October thought that the once room that were filled with flowers which brought about some life and color in her room were now back to being empty and lifeless.

Numbness was all she could use at this moment yet it seems like she wasn't feeling as numb as before. Knowing that she can't even have something lasting that could make her remember the time where she was with him, with Lexus who was looking straight at her as if she was the only person he could see, was really disappointing and it left her so oddly empty.

She shook her head and looked at the time on her phone and sighed. She turned around and went to have a quick shower to freshen herself up. She has to get ready for her lunch date with Elise.

It didn't take long for her to finish her shower for she was used to finish everything quickly. After squeezing her wet hair with the towel, she got her hair dryer and started to dry her hair.

It took her quite some time to dry her thick and long hair. Combing her hair to one side, she went into her cabinet and looked over her clothes. Sweeping her gaze over her clothes, she decided to pick a pair of black tight jeans and a white b.u.t.ton-up s.h.i.+rt.

She had her hair tied on a messy bun making some strands of her hair stray on the sides framing her small face. She also got her white sandals and looked over her reflection on the mirror and thought that she doesn't look weird on it.

'I'll just gonna have to wait for Elise outside.' October thought to herself and placed her phone in her bag when suddenly her hand touched something hard. Curious, she grabbed it and took it out. Immediately, her heart thumped hard as she looked at the blue box on her hand.

She touched it's cover blankly as her mind wandered elsewhere. She totally forgot that she still had this with her. She opened the box and instantly the sapphire stones on the flower pendant glimmered in front of her eyes. She took it out of its box and stared at it absentmindedly.

October felt her heart pounding fast in her chest. "It really looked just like his eyes." She muttered under her breath as sadness pa.s.sed her eyes for a split second.

She then decided to try it on and, after placing it around her neck, she looked at it on her mirror. It was really beautiful. Unconsciously, she touched the pendant and said, "Can I use this even just this once?"

October wanted to return it but somehow she was reluctant to do so. After returning it, will their connection end? But is there even any connection between them in the first place?

Out of nowhere, her phone rang. October jolted and checked her phone. It was a call from Elise. She tucked her hair behind her ear and answered, "Hey."

"Heeyyy! I'm already outside of your apartment complex. Come down now. I'm hungry." Elise giggled.

"Okay. Be right there in a minute." With that, October ended the call. She grabbed her sungla.s.ses and went out to meet Elise.

Not waiting for long, Elise saw October walking toward her car with sungla.s.ses on. Elise knew that her friend was pretty even without any make up.

Elise waved at October with a sweet smile on her face. October directly went to her and got into her car.

"Let's go." Elise said and started the car and drove off to the restaurant she had a reservation with.

October nodded but can't help but frown when she smelled something so strong in the car that made her head ache and nauseous. She turned to Elise but kept her mouth shut. She then decided to open her window to let the air in and to let her not suffocate with this strong smell of Elise's perfume.

"Why did you open the window?" Elise asked when she noticed October's odd behavior.

"I just thought of breathing some air." October replied as she turned her head to look at the street through her open window and touched her necklace unconsciously.

"Mkay." Elise nodded as she thought that it was just nothing.

Both of them were silent in the car so Elise decided to play some music to break a little bit of its silence.

"Okay, we're here." Elise said as her eyes sparkled as she looked at the restaurant and stopped her car in front of it. She then turned around to look at October with excitement clear on her bright face, "I have yet to try this restaurant, so I am quite excited about it."

October was speechless as she realized where they were at. Memories from this place came cras.h.i.+ng into her making her look so pale. She wanted to forget about him and yet she was always reminded of him. How can fate be so cruel?

"Come on, let's go." Elise excitedly got out of her car and gave her keys to the attendant waiting for them in front who will be the one that will park the car.

October inhaled sharply and slowly got out of the car and looked over Elise who went to her and slipped her hand around her arm, slowly dragging her inside the restaurant. October frowned when she smelled Elise's perfume again but she can't also push her away. She doesn't know why her nose seemed so sensitive nowadays. It really was a headache for her.

Once inside, they were immediately greeted by the waiter, "Welcome to Blue Gale Restaurant. I'll be your server for today."

"Yeah. I'm here for my reservation, Elise." Elise replied with her soft voice that sounded like bells ringing in the waiter's ears.

"Please follow me." He said and gestured for them to follow him. He took a quick glance at Elise who looked so adorable and cute with her straight hair following her every gesture. She looked so soft yet also s.e.xy at the same time, especially the red dress she wore that accentuated all of the a.s.sets she had. He then glanced at October who was still wearing her sungla.s.ses and was coolly and calmly following them. He was already mesmerized by just half of her face showing, how much more if she'll take it off? He was really curious.

Not long after, they arrived at a table for two that was by the window. It was really a good spot as per October's opinion.

They slowly made their way to their table. October noticed that the restuarant were already quite full. Once they arrived, they sat on their chairs and was then given their menus. However, October placed the menu down and turned to Elise, "I'll let you decide on what to order."

Elise looked at October with a wide smile on her face. "Okay," she then went back on ordering and the waiter put it into his tab.

October propped her chin on one hand as she glanced outside. She really can't believe that she'll be back here so soon. She then checked the time on her phone and browsed on the internet when, all of a sudden, she received a message.

It was from an unknown number. Still, October opened it and immediately her eyes glimmered in shock when she recognized the person who messaged her.
