At this time, Lexus did not insist on taking a shower together and so made her heave a sigh of relief. Although there was a bathtub, using the shower is a lot faster.

After that, she went out only to see him sitting on the side of the bed and was talking on the phone. He looked serious yet have a very desolate eyes, as if nothing matters to him at all.

Hearing some light footsteps at his side, Lexus turned only to see a freshly showered October. A glint flashed by his dark eyes. He then became resolute to never let her go out on her own for someone might steal her away from him.

It was really troubling to have such a beauty as a wife, but this trouble, it was not at all a bad thing. For him, anything related to his wife will make him happy.

He saw looking at him and mouthed: 'I'm done. Go and take a shower next after your call.' With that, she walked into the closet to choose some casual clothes.

After taking the call, Lexus let out a breath and put his phone on the side table. Taking a final look at it, he went to take a quick shower.

Getting out with only a towel wrapped around his lean waist, he headed to the closet. He opened it up only to collide with her.

October was startled and she lost her footing. But with Lexus' good reflex, he was able to stop her from falling.

"Sorry." October mumbled as she straightened herself.

"You know, we can always do this anytime if you want." Lexus teased and to his surprise, he saw her roll her pretty eyes at him. It was rather cute, seeing her act like this.

October swiftly brushed pa.s.sed him and went outside. Just that, if only her ears weren't red, everything would have been perfect in not showing any reaction.

Lexus chuckled and went inside to get something to wear.

After a few minutes, he went out and saw October drying her hair with the blower. He then went up behind her and kindly offered, "I'll help."

"It's okay, I can do it myself."

"That was not a question." Lexus flatly said as he s.n.a.t.c.hed the blower from her hands and continued drying her hair.

October wondered why he was doing this? Was she struggling to dry her hair? It just doesn't make any sense.

For Lexus, these little things he did was on a whim at first. He wanted to help her yet the longer he did it for her, he got used to it and found pleasure from it.

After that, the couple went downstairs and to the car prepared for them.

In the car, Lexus and October were both silent. It was not stiffling them. There was no such thing as weird and awkward in the atmosphere around them. Yes, they were silent, but their silence were of understanding.

October took a quick glance at Lexus. All of a sudden, she blurted out the questuon that has been plaguing her this whole time. "Why me? Why choose me?"

Hearing her asking this question, Lexus' eyes narrowed as he looked at the streets he was driving. He didn't turn to look at her. After a few seconds of silence, he replied, "I just knew. At that time, I knew it has to you."

All the women he met were beautiful. They were all smiling at him to gain his favor. But under their smiles hid their sneers and scowls. Behind their gentle facade lies their hideous faces.

They were all coming at him in frenzy but didn't treat him as man. He knew that they were looking at him as if he were gold himself. Such women, he can clearly see through from all of their masks.

Just October was different. She was expressionless at first but she showed her fierceness at the time when she first snapped at him. She looked at him straight in the eyes without any hidden intentions. She was full of elegance yet quiet with an eyes that observes quietly like the stillness of the river that ripples from time to time.

The her was dazzling him with her unique charm. She exuded such atmosphere other women don't have. She was confident and she was strong and independent. Yet for him, she may seem strong, but in his eyes, he saw her as a fragile woman that seemed like as fragile as a porcelain gla.s.s that can be easily broken into thousands of pieces.

October heard his reply but still couldn't make herself accept his words. It was not enough.

Pursing her red lips, she turned her attention on the road and fell silent. Clearly, she was not contented with his answer.

Lexus felt a sudden s.h.i.+ft in thr atmosphere. He gave her a sideway glance. He was curious.

"What are you thinking?"

"You." October unconsciously replied.

Lexus smirked. "What about me?"

October turned to him again and blankly said, "I'm thinking how can someone like you marry someone like me? I don't have that soft gentleness a lot of women have. And I also am not a delicate woman."

October pursed her lips and lowered her eyes as she said in a soft meek voice. "Is it because that you got me pregnant?"

Her voice almost cracked. She knows she's being unreasonable. She was even straightforward.

October was only answered with his silence. Thinking that he was not going to answer her petty worries, the car suddenly turn a curve and stopped on the side on the road.

With a click of the seatbealt, October found herself forcefully turned to look at him. His eyes were cold as ice yet hot as fire. Her heart hitched and her breathing almost stopped.

Lexus looked deep into her eyes and searched it to get something. Does she really have no idea? Was she seriously thinking that he married her because of the baby?

Lexus felt his lip twitched. A frown was slowly forming on his face as he looked at her in frustration.

"You really think that's the only reason?" Lexus asked.

October shrinked back but can't get away from him. Gritting her teeth, she nodded. She can't look at his piercing eyes. "So it really is the reason."

"No." Lexus sighed, frustrated. How can she be this unreasonable yet cute at the same time? Even her pouting is beautiful.

Turning her head to him, he smiled gently. "I married you not because of the baby. I chose you because..."

October raised her brow in curiosity.

"...because I like you. I got attracted to you the second I laid my eyes at you, especially at that time where you snapped at me." I smirk formed on his cold thin lips and his eyes glowed a dazzling light, mesmerizing October.

"I like you frown. I like you expressionless face. I like your glare. I like how you snap at me. I like eyes. I like you personality. I like that you're strong and independent. I like you uniqueness. I like yo--" October covered his mouth with her red hands.

The more he explained and the more she listened, her face turned redder and redder. It was almost making her dizzy. How can he say those things about her as without blinking his eyes, without being embarra.s.sed by it? And how can he say a lot of things? He made her seem like she was that amazing when she's not.
