In the coffee shop, Beatrice went on and on about her high school life with Quincy, which was pretty much nonexistent, but she had to make it seem like there was something there.

A call came in for Alice, interrupting her story telling.

"Quincy dear," Alice said with a sweet smile on her face.

Someone else was excited next to her.

"Coffe shop next to Z market."

Beatrice was excited when she heard Alice report her location. If Quincy was to join them, they'd look like a young couple enjoying coffee with their grandmother. She could then grab the chance to lead Alice into narrating her heroic deed. That way, she'll score brownie points with Quincy. In her mind, Janet was totally invisible. She had no idea why she wasn't leaving. She thought Janet was a friend clinging for help from granny Davis.

After the call ended, Beatrice rushed to speak.

"Granny Davis, was that Quincy over the phone?"

"Yes. I guess he missed this old lady," she giggled as she answered.

"Then I'll just stick around to see him then. He attended my birthday party, but I haven't had the chance to thank him yet."

"Sure, you're welcome to join us."

Alice then looked to Janet.

"You haven't seen him for a while also."

Janet couldn't help but smile when she remembered his helpless look at their family "dinner."

"Our family's Quincy has been hidden away. What can I do now?"

Both women laughed knowing who had kept their grandson hidden. Beatrice joined them cluelessly, trying so hard not to be left out.

30 minutes later.

The couple arrived at the coffee shop, but before Quincy could step out, Seraphina held him back.

"Honey, what are you going to do inside?" She asked worriedly. Although she'd never seen him express his anger, she could still feel how angry he was. She didn't want him to do anything out of control.

"Worried about me hon?" He asked as he peered at me with those gorgeous silver eyes.

"Yeah. Don't go crazy."

"I know. I would never make you feel distressed. Trust me babe."

I did trust him.

We shared a last kiss before heading in with Quincy leading in front.

"Hi grandmothers," he said, looking sweetly towards both women, totally skipping over the excited Beatrice.

Janet skipped over to Quincy excitedly like she had just seen her long lost lover.

Beatrice was sullen when she saw Quincy overlook her. Wanting to draw his attention, she called out, "Hi, Qu..."

Before she could finish, Seraphina popped out from behind him, shoving off Janet who wanted to entangle Quincy.

"Grangran, your man is at home. Don't get attached to mine," I warned, s.h.i.+fting my gaze towards Beatrice so she knew to stay away.

"Yes yes, this old woman will back off before you scratch at me, you feisty woman."

The couple had a seat at the table. Alice had moved to a bigger table to accommodate everyone.

"Summer, let granny take a look at you." Alice called her over and held her in a loving embrace.

"That boy never brings you home," she said as she snapped at Quincy.

"We'll come over often. Plus I totally miss Queen too." That was the truth. I hadn't seen her since the week Quincy traveled. She probably hit it off with a new guy.

Settling down, I looked over at Beatrice.

"Hi Ms. Walters. I didn't see you there. What a coincidence."

Payback doesn't taste so good right...

"Hi Seraphina. I just happened to b.u.mped into granny Davis." What was she doing here? Granny Davis never said Quincy was coming with a baggage. Beatrice mocked secretly.

Trying to get more information, Janet held on to Quincy hand.

"Why did she tag along dear?" She asked, using her crinkled nose to point at me.

"Granny, she came over to the office to keep me company after cla.s.s. I missed my gran, so I decided to show up and have some snacks with her. Luckily, you were here too."

"We came by to the market to get some things."

Quincy was talking with Janet, while Seraohina was engrossed in Alice's story telling. It was then Beatrice got her rude awakening. There was no s.p.a.ce for her at the table. Quincy didn't even look her way, and granny Davis totally ignored her after that girl arrived.

"No, it mustn't be like this. I still have my trump card," she thought to herself.

"Granny Davis, is your leg feeling better now?" Beatrice asked worriedly, successfully drawing everyone's attention.

"Granny, what's wrong?" Quincy asked as he rushed over to Alice, checking both of her legs.

Before Alice could explain, Beatrice spoke up once again.

"She almost tripped on her way back from the bathroom. Thankfully I was there to support her in time," she said proudly.

Everyone heard the main point of her explanation. She had "saved" Alice.

"Don't mind Alice. She was just being clumsy again like always. Remember that time she poured juice over the barbeque when she lost balance from laughing too much," Janet said, placing everyone's attention on the clumsy Alice.

"It was so funny. The meat was extra juicy too," Seraphina laughed along with her granny.

"You need to be careful gran," Quincy added.

"Thank you Beatrice. To express my appreciation, why don't I invite you to our family barbeque week, hmmn?" Alice said sincerely.

"Yes, you'll find it fun. Our families get together biweekly to bond and strengthen our relations.h.i.+ps. Some friends come over too," Seraphina explained in detail.

Kindly come over and eat another lose. There's totally no s.p.a.ce for you Ms. Walters.

"That won't be necessary at all. I think I had better take my leave now. It was nice seeing you all."

Beatrice grabbed her bag and dashed out of the store.

Quincy excused himself. We all knew what he was going to do.

"Take it easy babe," I said.

He nodded before following after Beatrice.
