PHASE 79 - TIARA'S NIGHTMARE: SONG OF SORROW

I'm dreaming again.

I can see the shadow, lurking in the streets of Myrrh City. Like before, I can see it in a third person's view. For some reason, the figure of the shadow is a little bit clearer. Its silhouette is similar to a beautiful girl's, with crimson eyes piercing in the dark. Every time it moves by floating, its long hair flows with the wind.

"Aaaaaah..."

The shadow is singing a song, both telepathically and physically. Its mouth is wide open, but the voice is muted. Its existence is very much a paradox.

I closed my eyes.

When I opened my eyes, I finally saw the shadow in front of the gate of an old mansion. This mansion is all familiar to me, for I have stayed there for a couple of years. I spent most of my childhood there after all, and it is the home of my step-mother and step-sister. It's the Baroquefloux Residence.

The shadow floated and pa.s.sed through the metal bars of the gate, like a phantom. The alarm of the gate went on, signaling the entrance of the intruder in a silent night. There are also two pit bulls on the side of the gate who were barking at the floating shadow which should definitely alarm the house owner and the neighbors.

Beeeeep! The whole mansion is on red alert. The lights from the mansion went on, and there are heavy footsteps coming from the inside. Patiently, the shadow just waited for a few meters in front of the door.

"WHO'S THERE!?"

The voice came from my step-mother, Miss Catriona Baroquefloux. She is still on her pajamas, and her white hair is full of curling tubes. She has this tobacco on her mouth that unleashes thin black smoke. On her hand, is a big shotgun.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

The shadow sang with fury. Her voice is like an ocean wave that blasted through the gardens of the front gate. The trees around swayed, and the windows shattered. The pitbulls who are now witnessing the might of the shadow immediately curled down and cried.

"Y-You! You're the one who killed my beautiful daughters!" Miss Baroquefloux roared. "You will pay!"

My step-mother c.o.c.ked her shotgun and then fired it relentlessly on the shadow. The shotgun is extraordinary for the reason that it fires Weapon Gems that immediately materialized swords. The sword-bullets scattered and rushed towards the shadow.

Alas, all those sword Weapon Gems just pa.s.sed through the incorrigible phantom.

"How did you-"

The shadow did not let Miss Baroquefloux finish her sentence. All of a sudden, the phantom lady materialized ten dark tails on her back and spread it out like a peac.o.c.k. These ten tails elongated and whipped my step-mother's body in a supernatural speed that is capable of severing a limb.

"Kyahack-!!!"

The dark tails are like swords that chopped off my step-mother's hands, elbows, knees, midriff, neck, and chest. In an instant, my evil step-mother was converted into chunks of wet flesh.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!"

The phantom lady sang a song for her victory. It is as if this is one of those moments the shadow has been waiting for a long time. However, her celebration has been cut short as somebody entered the scene. 

Somebody familiar.

"What the h.e.l.l!" It was Diadem Solstice, my dear twin brother. His long black ponytailed hair danced as he immediately drew out his Weapon Gem and materialized it as a crimson katana. "Why… Why did you do that to Miss Baroquefloux!?"

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!" The phantom lady answered as if trying to converse with Diadem.

"You're not getting away with this!" Diadem cried as he swung his katana that unleashed three crescent fire shockwaves! "u003cSol Strikeu003e!!!"

One, two, three. Those three fire waves of long-ranged attacks just pa.s.sed through the enemy. It never made any effect on the shadow at the very least. All it did is to hit the pillar of the mansion, which immediately crumbled.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh…." The phantom floats closer.

"s.h.i.+t! I need to use this!" Diadem cried as he held his chest, which glowed with the sun's light. "u003cG.o.d Core: Ra Ascensionu003e!!!"

The place was brightened by a divine presence. Ra's golden feathered armor is like a sun that makes everything visible as if he is the living daylight. His clawed gauntlets shone as he focused his prana on his hands. Spreading his wings, Lord Ra levitated in the air and prepared for his attack!

"u003cPyramid Sealu003e!!!"

A large golden prism materialized and locked the floating shadow from the inside. The pyramid radiated like a giant star, focusing the prana within its walls to reinforce its st.u.r.diness.

"Now you can no longer escape!" Lord Ra proclaimed his victory. However, it was all too premature to settle this.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!" 

The phantom lady shouted, and the ten tails wriggling on its back unleashed negative prana. With the power of its tails and voice, it unleashed a shockwave which immediately shattered the u003cPyramid Sealu003e that Lord Ra has created.

"u003cSol Bombu003e!!!" 

Lord Ra charged a gigantic sun from his hands and then threw it to the shadow. It was a perfect hit, and the giant sun immediately vaporized everything in its area of effect! The garden of the Baroquefloux Manor has been destroyed almost instantly, and a huge crater was formed as the aftermath.

"Haaa…. haaa...." Lord Ra panted hard to catch for oxygen. He almost gave everything in that attack, and he knew that any enemy he faces would be seriously injured upon taking a hit on that u003cSol Bombu003e. It is the most powerful attack on her a.r.s.enal that does not require a G.o.d Core Release.

The thick smoke that Lord Ra has created slowly diminished. The water pipes that got raptured due to the attack started to sprinkle water all over the place. It looked like nothing was left to the enemy until…

"Aaaaaaahhhh…" It was a song of sorrow.

"What the heck! You're still alive!?" Lord Ra protested.

The shadow lady is not injured or even scratched. Like every attack, physical or magical, it just pa.s.ses through it. All Lord Ra did is to make excessive collateral damage in the surroundings.

Lord Ra bit his lip. He is a little bit sure that this is an enemy he can take down on his own, but he can't just escape this predicament. If the shadow survives another day, the shadow should certainly kill more people.

"I will do everything to stop you! I will not let you kill any more person, even if it will cost you all my power in this fight!" Lord Ra cried as he pointed his golden claws towards the shadow. "G.o.d Core Rele-_____________!!!"

What was that?

Lord Ra muttered the spell name to unleash the power of the G.o.d Core, but he cannot speak it. It's like his voice has completely vanished, no matter how many times he move his mouth or exhales air. It's like he is completely mute.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh…."

The shadow levitated as it approached forward. Trembling, Lord Ra can no longer move an inch of his body to escape. He tried to scream. He tried to shout. He tried to cry. But no voice came out from his mouth.

Suddenly, the phantom lady caressed Lord Ra's cheeks with its dark hands. Its crimson eyes locked with him, which applied extreme terror to his soul.

In an instant, Lord Ra was converted back to his base form, Diadem. His loss of willpower to fight has made him disable his divine form.

"_________!!!"

Diadem cried, but words failed to get out of his mouth. He's completely mute. His body is paralyzed. There is no escape. Tears ran down from his eyes as he was completely consumed by the terrifying stare of the shadow. He's not just shaking, but vibrating, upon sensing the power of this shadow.

"______…"

In an instant, the head of my twin brother exploded.
