Quentin is in the bed, looking at the profile of his sleeping fiery G.o.ddess, covered in luxurious satin sheets.
He propped himself on his elbow to get a better view of her exquisite face. He did that last weekend also, when she slept off with a satisfied smile on her face, just like now.
Quentin is not sleepy. After all, his body-clock is on Seattle's time, and that makes it 1:30 AM. It's still not his time to call it a night. But Brianna is a New Yorker, and she must be exhausted after all the things they did.
Quentin is physically tired, but he is high on the fact that he spent the second night with his fiery G.o.ddess. And he knows that she enjoyed as well.
Quentin suppressed his urge to pull her into his embrace and to cuddle with her until morning, because he knows that he might wake her up and she will probably not like it.
Based on Quentin's estimate, Brianna is in a denial how everything she needs is attractively packaged into a man with the name Quentin. He can give her the queen like treatment and be there when she needs him without suffocating her, fulfilling her every desire. And he would do that gladly, only if she allows him.
Quentin is optimistic. Brianna coming to his suite tonight tells him that even though she is fighting against it, there are some cracks in her resolve. Resolve for what? He is not sure. But it seems that Brianna is afraid of the feelings Quentin invokes in her, because there is a possibility that she will end up trapped in a relations.h.i.+p. At least that is what Quentin thinks.
He was pleasantly surprised that more than once Brianna took the initiative and made them both climax at the same time. That is different than their first night when she allowed him to be in the driver's seat from the beginning to the end, but he knows that she did that because she wanted to see what all he can do. And tonight, she decided to show him what she can do also.
In Quentin's eyes, Brianna is beyond perfect. Smart, sa.s.sy, beautiful and hot as h.e.l.l.
A smile crept on his face when he remembered her l.u.s.tful expressions in the living room while he held her against the window, and then they moved to the shower before ending the night in the bed.
Quentin is confident that there is nothing more beautiful than her expression just before she comes, when her whole body lights up as o.r.g.a.s.m washes over her. He knows that her appeal is amplified by the fact that Brianna is not shy of embracing that feeling. She loves it and she goes for it, without any embarra.s.sment or the need to apologize for freely embracing her s.e.xuality.
Quentin caressed her cheek gently and whispered: "When are you going to accept that I am the man for you?"
He wondered, would Brianna be touched or hate him if she knew to what lengths he is going to in order to make her his?
He planned to come to New York, and the private investigator he hired tapped into her phone. How else would Quentin know that Brianna would be on a date in that restaurant with some n.o.body? He had to pull strings to get this suite on a short notice, and when he reached the restaurant he told the server that he will have the same as the woman with red hair in the black dress on the other side of the restaurant… and it was all worth it.
Because he is following her, Quentin knows that since their steamy night last weekend, Brianna didn't go out on a single date. And the fact that tonight she tried going out with someone else tells him that she is still fighting the inevitable. But he is patient. After a long time, he found the woman worthy of his attention and he will not rush this no matter how eager he is to claim her as his.
Quentin is convinced that there must be a reason why he was so stumped when he saw her the first time, and why he can't get her out of his mind since then. This never happened to Quentin before, but he is well aware that all the signals are pointing to the fact that Brianna is special and that he should not allow her to slip through his fingers.
He sighed. What he must do next is probably the most difficult thing he did in his life. But he needs to do it… again…

8:51 AM
Brianna woke up and observed her surroundings.
Images of last night flashed through her mind and a smile creeped onto her face. Quentin blew her mind again and she can definitely confirm that the previous night was wild and the most enjoyable ever! If she can have that every night that would be… Brianna stopped her thoughts. What 'every night'? What got into her? Is she actually thinking of something like a relations.h.i.+p with Quentin? No, that can't be it. That is not her. She was just thinking of another hookup, that's it… or that is what she told herself.
Quentin, right… where is he? Why is she alone in the bed?
Brianna observed a single red rose on the pillow next to her and a note.
"Thank you for the last night
~ Quentin"
She flipped the card and read at the back:
"The checkout is at 11 AM"
Brianna saw that she has about two hours until she needs to leave the room and she slumped back into the bed.
Quentin left? Why is she unhappy about it? She should be happy, right? This is what she wants: a great night and no clinging the next morning, but she can't deny that part of her is disappointed by the fact that he is not here.
Somehow, the satin sheets didn't feel as luxurious anymore. And this whole room lost some spark which made it special.
She touched the s.p.a.ce on the bed next to her and confirmed that the sheets are cold. There was no one there for some time. Brianna sighed. Why is she dispirited by the knowledge that he left long time ago?
Brianna closed her eyes and told herself to snap out of it, but the lingering scent Quentin left behind was seductive and her mood dropped even lower because it is only that: a scent, and nothing more.
She stood out of the bed and for some unknown reason went out and walked through the rest of the suite, searching for something… or someone.
Bri stood in front of the window and observed New York from 55th floor and she found it… dull. How can New York be dull? She can even see the Statue of Liberty! Is it possible that the appeal of the city which never sleeps is diminished because Quentin is gone?
Did he leave the room? Or the city? She was frustrated that he didn't say anything about his plans. How can he just leave with a 'thank you' note!?
Brianna was on a verge of getting her phone, but she stopped herself. What is she doing? Was she about to call Quentin? Did she become the clingy one?
She sighed when she realized that the last night was a huge mistake. Quentin is like a drug, the most potent one, and she ended up coming for a second dose. The first dose made her crave for more, but it was just a want which could be suppressed, and this… after the second dose, this is an unbearable need. It even made her clingy!
Brianna ended up in the shower. Shower will help her clear her mind and wash away traces of Quentin, and that is exactly what she needs.
Ten minutes later, Brianna realized that she was wrong because the hot water and luxurious bubbles didn't put her mind at ease not even a little bit.
Her fingers touched the cold tiles of the shower enclosure and she remembered that the previous night she was here with Quentin. He made her scream in ecstasy three… no, four times... right here before he carried her to bed without separating their lips, or their hips.
She banged with her fist against the tiles, angry at herself. Why is she acting like this? She is getting aroused while her body is remembering his touch, and there is an unknown ache. Is she missing him?
He asked her last night if she missed him and she said 'yes'. But did she miss Quentin or what he can do to her body? Is there a difference? Brianna was not sure.
But what Brianna was sure about is that she needs to get out of there. This whole s.p.a.ce smells of Quentin and wherever she looks she sees the ghosts of him. She needs to get out before she goes crazy!
