Just like the place, she is staying now, the room which doesn't look like a square in shape but has more dimensions to it, she looks around at multiple decorated walls. Her eyes fall on the arrival and exit door to her left side, patiently moving around the other areas, from the nearby sofa's to the bedside table, and bypa.s.sed the large bed as her eyes rested on the window sill of the bay window to her right. She silently stared through the window gla.s.s for a while towards the Little Tiger's window.
Feeling a gust of chill ran over her body, which bought her back to reality. Li Na calmed herself before she went to her closet and picked out a soft, cozy and warm turtleneck dark-maroon sweater. She wore it with its too long selves covered the tip of her slender fingernails and still overflowing, along with the comfortable black jeggings, she covered her ears with a soft black woolen cap which hides forehead completely. She humphed and felt alright now that the coldness won't touch her.
With all the articles of clothing, only her little face from her eyebrows to chin was exposed to the chilling cold air. With a red nose, she went to pour a gla.s.s of lukewarm water from the thermal flask. Cupping the warm gla.s.s, she moved to the tightly shut french door.
She opened the door and went out onto the balcony.
In the early dark morning, it was extremely quiet and cold outside but the outer s.p.a.ce felt much better than confined walls to take a fresh breather.
Li Na stared blankly at the dark sky engulfed in the wide stretch. Holding the war gla.s.s water she leaned on the balcony rail, and slowly took a sip of warm water. With the cold wind whistling and running through the ends of her long hair strands, she turned her head casually towards her left. In that instant, her motions stop unintentionally.
'Woah...what a beautiful piece of creation.'
Still, holding the gla.s.s to her mouth Li Na quietly stare at Lu Jianjun who was looking as quiet as this morning's hush. thinking if she should say h.e.l.lo but then decided not to as she doesn't want to disturb the peaceful looking man.
Her fingers lightly tapped on the gla.s.s as she continued to gaze at the strikingly handsome man who appeared to be fallen asleep, sitting on the sofa with the fluorescent light falling directly on his face and that too in colder ambiance.
With a strong gust of winds sweeps around Li Na felt chills ran over her and she rubbed the tip of the reddened nose which appeared to be frozen due to coldness but Lu Jianjun was unfazed. 'Hmm, he's must be hot-blooded. Gos.h.!.+ but how could a person sleep under a focus of light falling directly on to the face?'
Bewildered, Li Na frowned slightly but her eyes were locked on to him. A few doc.u.ments on the table and an open laptop before him. But the man was leaning back with his eyes closed.
"Lu Jianjun!" she sighed.
Li Na pursed her lips, unsettled with mix feelings. She doesn't know if it is her own thinking or its really some kind of weird biochemical process inside her brain like a short circuit that she's unable to resist him. This thing never ever happened before even when she saw or met someone, with such a striking and impactful personality like Lu Jianjun. She would be dishonest with herself, not to say, he actually has the presence which she can never forget if she had met him in her earlier life but she was so sure they never met before still, she felt familiar with his name. This feeling is not random but oddly strange. The problem is she couldn't recall from where? Where she heard this name? this is really surprising for her that after so many days and weeks she still couldn't recollect any of the incidents involving his name or any person's voice tellings his name to her or in background. Perhaps she read it somewhere or just had a glance? she was certain she had this sense of familiarity with his that she couldn't recollect. Besides, she was sure his name is evidently embedded in her mind just like a loose thought or dream with no specific linking
"That's weird." she murmured to herself. Li Na carefully sized up the man's features been herself as always like a little curious beast she was. Scrutinizing every inch of his face to see as if it was real. It's much efficient and comfortable to stare at him while he is asleep than to face his exotic eyes.
Drown into thoughts, Li Na noticed Lu Jianjun's eyebrows furrowing slightly. She wondered if he was dreaming as she also directed her gaze as deep as the ocean. Just in the next moment, she jumped in shock.
'Oh, f.u.c.k!' when Lu Jianjun abruptly opened his dark eyes. In that instant, his half-opened eyes seemed to catch her committing a crime.
"I did nothing!" she backed herself throwing her hands in the air like a real culprit." Just drinking water." she swayed the gla.s.s in her hand, highlighting it, for him to see first but his eyes were locked on to her never s.h.i.+fting or blinking for a bit.
His hooded eyes seem to gaze at her intensely as if looking for something. But the second her face fully registered in his dazed mind, in a swift movement he sat up straight as if startled.
Lazily leaning forward, he instantly held his forehead before burying his face into his hands as he smoothed his fingers over his dazed eyes and temples to focus. Turning to sideways, he glanced at the girl's face again. Though Li Na was startled she recovered quickly, and she warmly greeted him with a bright smile. " Good Morning." his converged eyes fixed on to her.
Li Na walked towards the sofa as their balconies were connected. A heart-melting low chuckle escaped her lips as she came to sit in front of Lu Jianjun's couch. "Did I scare you, Mister?" she asked playfully while laughing and moving on the long couch. She adjusting herself as the cus.h.i.+ons were a bit cold, fortunately not as cold as the man's expressions.
After a while, she finds a suitable spot and folded her legs back to cover her feet and sat comfortably. She gulped down the whole water in one go and put the gla.s.s on the table, and rubbed her hands before shoving them back in her long selves.
Silently, Lu Jianjun just watched the little beasty rummaging around for her comfortable spot, he glanced at her for a brief moment before he snubbed her completely for his own good.
Li Na blankly stared him for a while, waiting for his response or at least he could say 'Morning' to her. She supported her one elbow on the sofa's armrest and tilted her head with her chin resting on her hand while looking all innocent. He does stare why is that all innocent looking beings were actually devil inside.
"You were scared, right?" she said, there was a certain joy in her voice and amus.e.m.e.nt. She was truly amused by seeing his reaction. He reacted spontaneously as if she was a ghost, although his expressions were impa.s.sive yet he again turned to look if she is human or ghost. Well, if she would have been in his place, she would have jumped and shouted at him later.
Waking up to see a person standing in the dim light and minutely staring at her on a quiet night like a ghost is scary.
" Even ghosts can't enter without my permission." his raspy voice rang into her ears when he shot a glance at her and as she t.i.tled her head and blinked innocently that gesture just made him instantly lowered his eyes and turn his head away.
