"Who are they?" I asked.
"Devils," he calmly replied.
"Are we gonna be alright, Black?"
"I was careless. One of them sensed me already. Other two are far away."
"What should we do now?"
"We?? You are going back home. And I am going to scare them off."
"But..." I protested. I wanted to stay with him. I knew I could do nothing to help him and I might get in the way too but I was just worried about him.
"He's trying to run away. Gotta go. Now go home."
He bent his knees a little. I remembered that posed from my dream. I thought I'd see his wing appear on his back. But he had disappeared the next second. I just sensed a gust of wind. He had already taken off before I knew. The ground where he stood had little crackers and a very shallow crater had formed there too. It wasn't as surprising though. I was already used of his supernatural powers. Therefore without wasting time, I looked up towards the sky and tried to search for him.
I couldn't see clearly because of the darkness but I guess I saw a silhouette of a black figure far away in the sky which was moving too slowly in comparison to the silhouette of my Black. My Black reached him in just a few seconds and as soon as he did so, one of them had started falling towards ground. The other one was slowly descending along with the falling body.
My Black was already tired after the date. The paleness on his face had reduced significantly but he still was tired. It was already dangerous for him to confront some enemy. I was so d.a.m.n worried by thoughts of what if it was my Black who fell. What if my Black gets injured. What if I could never see Black again.
Before that person even fell on ground, I had already sat down in car and started driving in that direction.
My head was full of chaotic and b.l.o.o.d.y thoughts, but I was able to find my way to where they were supposed to drop. I stopped my car nearby and ran barefoot to find my Black. But I could only hear the silence of night. Aside that, nothing else. And that worried me more. I had a rough idea of the location but that was just rough. I ran here and there, in different streets.
"... you really are a monster," finally, I heard a low but deep voice coming from the alley ahead. Someone was apparently saying things about my Black. It hurt knowing how even a devil dare to say him a monster but I was a little relieved to find that my Black was alright. I stopped running instantly and slowly walked towards that direction.
"Stop trying to run away and save me some work, will you?" I heard Black. His voice was no longer gentle. It was fierce and cold and a little scary too. I kept myself behind the wall and peeked. There was a a man with long, bat like wings on his back. I couldn't see his face because his back was towards me. He was on ground, bleeding. A lightly bent sword had pierced his ankle joint and sunken to ground, restricting his movement. If he dared to move his leg, it would only hurt him more. He had nowhere to go. It was a very ruthless way to stop movements of someone, even if it was used against a devil.
"Ugh..." that devil murmered something.
"These clothes are too tight," Black said as he opened the b.u.t.tons of his blazer. "Anyway, what are you doing here?" he asked, standing in front of him.
"Nothing much. Just wandering around." that man said in a deep voice, holding down his leg tightly.
"Do you not want to live anymore?" Black said, coldly. It was the first time I heard him talk like that. He looked expressionless. And it looked like Black will do what he said without any hesitation. That devil looked at Black, but he didn't say a word more.
"I'm in a good mood today. Answer me honestly and I'll let you go," Black held that sword in his hand and moved it ahead further, towards his flesh as if he was cutting a piece of paper. I was unable to see that devil but I could tell that he was trembling. He didn't scream though. Black glared and it didn't appear as if he was bluffing. "If you lie..."
"I was scouting. Everyone knows you fell near this city and you looked in pretty bad shape. So I was ordered to look for you." Black stopped torturing that man as soon as he started speaking.
"Alone?"
"No... There are two more."
"And what are you gonna do after reporting about my location?" That man stayed stayed silent.
"Didn't you hear me?" Black snapped loudly.
"There's a human hearing us... Behind me..." he said. I don't know how I was caught. I was sure I didn't make any noise.
"I know it already. She has been there for a while. Tsk and you were trying to find me with such beginner ability,"
"But I did find you," he arrogantly said. I was sure that if my Black wasn't tired, there was no way that devil could have found him. With that as reference, I could tell that my Black was really too overpowered.
"What are you doing here? Didn't I tell you to go home?" Black looked at me, right in my eyes. He really knew I was there.
"Sorry," I whispered so he could read my lips. For some reason, I didn't think I should say it loudly. He flexed his brows as if replying that he was angry at me.
"Come here." he said. I moved out of hiding and started walking towards him. Black looked at that devil as if threatening him of consequences of he looked back. A piece of cloth appeared in front of me. It was floating in mid air, blocking the view of that guy. I moved and reached behind Black quickly.
"You treat this girl so well. I wonder who she is."
Black glared at him in response, with raw murderous intentions.
"I gurss that must be the legendary angelheart. I'm curious. what's so special about this human that you spent years looking for her," it was a wonder how everyone seem to know about me.
"Back to the question. What are you all planning?"
"The other two are coming this way," he tried to threatens Black.
"What can two more useless beings do? Useless will be useless, even if it's two or three or four."
"Even you wont be able to escape this time. A team of more than a hundred strongest devils are coming just to take care of you. You're too arrogant to mess with us. They're coming soon. No matter how much of a monster you are, no matter how strong you are, you won't be able to save yourself. You're fated to die." Black gripped my hand tightly. He was angry.
"Do you think a hundred will be enough?" he said with a laugh. He just didn't seem care as if he could crush them all anytime he wished.
"Nevermind... Let's go angelheart." he said and we started walking away from that guy
"One winged demon... Do you fear us now?" that devil said when we were almost at the end of that alley. Black instantly left my hand. I turned my head to see he was in front of that devil looking at him right in the eye. He pulled back that sword and threw it in air. That sword disintegrated into nothingness in mid air and disappeared. That devil grunted in pain. I saw that his leg had split off from his body in that moment.
"Just tell them,,, if they dared come here and do something stupid,,, they won't be forgiven... I'll kill every single one of them... No I won't just kill them. I'll torture them. I'll make them bleed. I'll heal them. And I'll make them bleed again and again till they beg for death but I still won't kill them. I'm not that merciful. Hehe... A hundred useless beings. It's gonna be so fun." My Black said and kicked that devil far away. That devil apparently hit the wall but I didn't see him. My Black came to me and we walked away.
"Just what kind of angel are you..." that devil murmured but in that silent alley, it sounded clearly.
"A very vicious one." Black replied.
