A loud sound was heard. The door had been pushed open while the girl crashed the window mirror using a vase. Both things happening at the same time increased the volume frequency.
Xi Jingfei escaped to the road in front of her house and saw a pa.s.ser-by. She ran to him and asked him to call the police. But before the call could get through, those culprits had already caught up to her and waved the gun at the helper. Scared he ran away.
She was someone with brain and knew self-defence enough for hooligans but she was outnumbered and those people were trained unlike the ruffians on the streets. As such, despite a few kicks from her, they drugged her and took her away. Their fellow felons came in a car and kidnapped her.

Xi Jingfei woke up a little long later. Her hands tied up but free feet, cloth gagged mouth and blindfolded, she was sitting in the car in between two criminals. She didn't know how long she was under the influence of the drug. She could hear the sounds of vehicles honking aloud. One of the delinquents opened the window s.h.i.+eld to peek outside for a moment. Xi Jingfei could hear the sounds outside clearer now. As the vehicles went further away from their car she heard a hollow sound.
**Is that a bridge? River? Yes, it should be there. We are heading in the direction of some bridge.** Xi Jingfei thought.
The alarm in one of the convict's phone rang. "It's 9 o'clock. Take your medicine. It's 9 o'clock. Take your medicine."
**I don't know how long have I slept but I don't think the drug they gave me was too strong or I would suffer a headache upon waking up. The alarm said it's 9, so must be in the same evening. I got off work around 6 in the evening. Then half an hour drive to home. Within around half an hour they chased and seized me so that makes it 7. So I was drugged for around two hours.** Xi Jingfei's mind was busting with all the information before the kidnap.
**The speed of the car is fast but is a smooth ride which means there's no heavy traffic and vehicles are moving fast unlike that of the city roads. So deducing from the conditions, I should be somewhere on the highway near Is.h.i.+n river because that's the closest river outside City U with a highway joining the bridge over it and it would take at least two hours from my place to the bridge given the heavy traffic in the city.** The girl, though when sleeping wouldn't pay much attention, but all other times, would be mindful of her surroundings.
**What do I do now? I can't just sit back and watch.** While rummaging her head to come up with some plan, Xi Jingfei's hands touched the seat belt that hiding was behind her body. She used its buckle to free her hands. By the time, the car was running on the bridge over the Is.h.i.+n River. The girl guessed her own position in the middle of the back seat and that of the distance between herself and the driver. With a speed comparable to lightning she took off her gags and gathered all her strength to attack the driver. Though the culprits were more powerful than her but were caught off guarded thus the driver lost the balance and the car was swinging along. The other felons tried to break free her hands from the driver but she stubbornly held on. The car broke the barricades and wall of the bridge and winged down right into the river.
The riders all went along with the car. The criminal sitting beside the girl, pulled down the window s.h.i.+eld, allowing the water to gush in. He swam out to save himself. All the other fellows followed his lead and did the same. Xi Jingfei came out too. Heavily breathing she swam to the listless sh.o.r.e. The water drifting her along its way somehow led her ash.o.r.e.
