"I see that you're finally awake. You know this cell was your friends, she spent most of her time in there," the guard said to Charles smirking as he did.
Charles had this burning desire now to attack him for what he had done. He tried to run to the bars but tripped and fell. The guard laughed.
"Sadly, we can't do much to you. But I know you feel that something is missing," he said.
Charles looked up and knew what he meant. He did feel that something was missing. He turned his head and started to cry. There were large cuts in his back where his wings had been. They had stolen them. He had finally started to feel the pain from the still bleeding wounds. He sobbed from the loss and the pain.
"See, I knew you did. I have some good news for you that will lift your spirits."
"What?!" Charles said, wincing.
"Our king is bringing your little girlfriend right now, and you know what, you'll even get the chance to be with her. Though not for long," The guard said.
"How is that good news! Leave her alone!" Charles yelled.
"Uh, uh, uh. She is to be dealt with by the king's orders."
The guard started walking away as Charles started to yell again. He had a persistent and also defeated face. Tears still streamed, but no longer in pain but in anger.
Akila slowly was waking up. She was still slung over the king's shoulder, but she found that her hands were now tied and a gag was in her mouth. She could feel a hand on her back, their skin cold from the cool air. Akila started to wiggle and felt Josiah stop. He turned his head and sighed.
"I was hoping that you wouldn't wake up until you were locked up, I guess this was pretty good timing though. We're right outside the gates," He said, dropping Akila. He turned her around to see the dark, stone castle gates.
He motioned at the guards inside to open up. They walked outside to meet him.
"Your Highness, we see you have finally caught the rat," one of them said.
Josiah threw Akila at them and she hit the ground, "you know what to do with her. Make sure she gets locked up."
"Yes, your Highness," The second guard replied. Josiah stormed off inside, smirking.
"So, you've finally returned. Now, let's take you to you old home," The guard said pulling up Akila off the ground. The other guard grabbed her left arm and started dragging her inside, Akila struggling to free herself. They just laughed at her attempt and took her inside the castle.
