Seulbi remained in the toilet for a long time , before heading towards the sink . She looked herself in the mirror . Her eyes were red and swollen because of crying . Her face was pale and lips were dry . She had a messy hair . Looking at herself in mirror, she sensed a ma.s.sive feeling of sadness engulfing her heart again .
She touched the mirror as she was touching herself and asked "Why are you so ugly?!" . She washed her face many times and again looked herself in mirror . She found no difference in her face from before . She shouted" Why?! . . . Why?! . . Why people hate me because of my appearance?! . . . Will . . . Will they love me if i look pretty?! . . Will . . they be my friends and not bully me?! . . . But it is not . . possible" . She felt hurt and dissappointed too .
She didn't know what time it was but when she came out from restroom , the sun was already setting . She noticed that the school was already over and beside her, there were only few staff left in the school .
She grabbed her bag and left school . Her home was quite far from school . It took 15 minutes to reach her home by subway . She came home and begin to search for someone .
Seulbi's mother, Zhao Seong, died in an accident when Seulbi was only 2 . Her father, Li Cheng, remarried after 1 year of Zhao Seong's death . Seulbi's step mother, Tang Fian, gave birth to twins but they were a boy and a girl . Her son was named as Li Ruan and daughter was named as Li Ri . Li cheng used to work in some trading business . So, he used to be out of home often times . This way, he didn't get any chance to interact more with his family .
Tang fian was clever and selfish . She used to make Seulbi to do home ch.o.r.es as she and her children would enjoy relaxing . Whenever Li cheng visits home at night, she acts exhausted as she was tired of doing house ch.o.r.es . And used to complain about Seulbi being lazy all the time . This caused Li cheng to feel a little disappoint towards Seulbi .
Li Ruan was the only son in the family , so, Cheng used to treat him quite well . As for Li Ri, she was quite beautiful and talented in sports . She got many achievements which made Cheng feel proud . Seulbi was only good at studies . But due to her appearance, No one looked her good side rather they talked about about her uglyness . This made Tang Fian and her children feel embarrased even walking with Seulbi in the streets . They hated Seulbi and treated her very bad .
Seulbi was aware of everything . She knew that her step mom and her step brothersister didn't like her . She knew that her step mom used to talk lies about her to her father . She knew that her neighbors used to sidetalk about her uglyness . But, she didn't even care . She used to pretend that she didn't know about all these happenings . Because, there was someone who used to give her confidence to fight with these challanges . And she was Seulbi's grandmother, Su yumi .
Yumi loved her granddaughter, Li Seulbi , more than others . After Seong's death, She knew Seulbi will be lonely ,so, she stayed by her side since Seulbi was child . She played with her , told her stories , taught her good manners, and did all the things that a mother does for her child . She made her feel that she wasnot alone in this world . So, Seulbi always felt that Yumi wasn't her grandmother but her own mother . Yumi was a frank person so she allowed Seulbi to call her by name .
Seulbi used to tell whatever bad things happened to her to Yumi . . . . So, Yumi was the one who she was looking for after she came from school that day, to tell her about the happenings that day . . .
