271 Anger

Morgan immediately went back to release Putri from prison.

When Morgan opened the jail door for her, she was confused.

"I'm sure today you have cool your head, You are useful in the battle, so I hope you don't do anything foolish again like spreading such absurd information."

Putri couldn't say anything. Yesterday, she left immediately after hearing the information from Alex. She thought about going back to him and asked for the details.

That was also Morgan's plan. He would observe Putri's movement, and if she indeed went back to the forest to meet Alex. He would follow her silently.

Sadly, Alex would need to disappoint both of them because of a certain stupid princess.

In the forest,

Alex and the others had rested enough. Alex also came up with several plans, but he wanted to observe the battle a little more. But he would join tomorrow's battle.

He was relaxing his mind for a while before Njomo contacted him again. But he didn't forget to put Ngina's card forward first.

Alex's heart skipped a beat after he heard that. He immediately shouted to the other spirits, "We are hiding once again."

"Alex, what happened?"

"There are eight Martial Lords coming to us from the Southern Kingdom's side."

"I am wondering if they are aware of our group or the Zhou Kingdom..."

"Hide first." He then instructed, "Njomo and Ngina will try to find their intention."

"Understood (Woof)!"

Alex and the others immediately hid again like when Morgan came.

The Martial Lords wore a full black suit like a.s.sa.s.sins. They were sent here to kill Alex and take his belongings. They searched for quite a while but didn't find any trace of Alex's group being here other than corpses.

Although they were startled when they saw numerous corpses. They at least need to search for Alex first. If they didn't find him, then they could report these corpses.

"s.h.i.+t. What are these corpses? From their clothes, they must be Zhou's soldiers. We should report this."

"We will report this later. I don't know why, but the princess seems adamant to kill him."

"We should split up into four groups to search around the area. According to the information, he should have a group with him. But he was the leader, so I a.s.sume his group is only filled with Martial Grandmasters. Even if we split our forces into four, we should be able to take care of them."

They ignored the possibility that Alex's group was the one who killed these many soldiers. They didn't dare to believe that Alex's small group could kill these many soldiers.

They then split into four groups and searched around.

Not long after, Ngina informed him,

"Young Master. This group of people want to kill you. What should we do?"

"What? They want to kill Alex? I will kill them! He has helped their kingdom this much, but instead of thanking him, they want to kill him?" Anna flared up.

Hearing Anna's furious remark, Ngina said a follow-up, "They are splitting into four groups with two Martial Lords in each group."

"Then, it is perfect. I will butcher them one by one!" Anna said while gnas.h.i.+ng her teeth.

Alex ignored her and took Leoz's card, "I think I'm going to have your help once again."

"Alright. You can summon me anytime you want." Leoz informed.

"Summon."

Leoz appeared in front of them. He didn't know what happened, but he had been prepared for another fight.

"Alex, there is no need for this guy in this battle. There are only two Martial Lords in a group, I can kill them too."

Alex shook his head helplessly. He said while patting Anna's head, "I am happy with your thought. But, what I want is all of you to be safe."

He turned to Leoz and explained the situation, "There seems to be a group consisting of eight Martial Lords coming for my head. They are splitting into four groups."

"Ho...!" Leoz's gaze became fierce too. It seemed he was also p.i.s.sed. The reason was the same as Anna.

"Don't forget to spare at least a group so I can pla- Ahem, get information from them." Jeanne corrected herself. Of course, her intention was plain to see for others.

"We will have you and Anna to confront the Martial Lords while the rest of us will be the support." Alex contemplated for a moment, then continued, "Leoz will group up with me, Jeanne, and Greg. Since Fabio is a Martial Lord too, I want him and Vera to support Anna."

"I object. We should exchange the group. I'm going to be with Alex."

"..." Alex looked at her and sighed, "I do this because I'm worried about you."

"I know. But, the perfect combination will be Leoz and Fabio. They could finish the battle faster and help our group."

Alex wanted to retort, but he couldn't as she was right. Anna and Leoz were on the same level, which was 4-Star Martial Lord. But Leoz's fighting ability was higher than Anna's.

At first, it might look like Anna's wanted to be with him. But, she was also considering their power in her plan. It was two birds with one stone.

"Greg should be able to block a few moves. Putting Jeanne aside, my Dark Curtain is perfect for you in this situation. Although going for close combat might be reckless, you can just aim him with your spear.

"Although I doubt it will kill him, it should be able to injure him with an ambush," Anna explained.

"Alright." After that much reasoning, he couldn't say no, could he?

"Mmf Mmf!" Jeanne wanted to protest because Anna put her aside, but Leoz grasped her and covered her mouth with his hand.

"That's the plan. Fabio and Leoz will finish your battle as soon as possible with Vera as the support.

"Anna and I will try to injure the other one as much as possible. Greg will protect us if needed. As for Jeanne... try to find a way to distract the opponent."

"Understood (Mmf)!"

They moved out. They finally found a pair of Martial Lords after a five minutes search.

"I will take the left one," Anna said.

"Alright, I will take the right one." Leoz shrugged his shoulder.

Leoz was the first one to appear in front of the enemy. He blew away his target, leaving the other one alone. He wanted to help his comrade to fight Leoz, but Anna went on his way.

"Dark Curtain." Anna didn't say anything but immediately used her Dark Curtain.

Unbeknownst to him, Alex was in the group, holding a spear in both hands. "Spear Throwing Technique, Spin Throwing."

When he was shrouded by darkness, he didn't panic. Instead, he tried to see the bigger picture. He tried to release his domain to see his surroundings before feeling Alex's spears were on their way toward him.

"Spear?" He immediately parried it with his sword. He didn't forget to add his Sword Intent as he felt the Spear Intent when it came inside his domain.

But, Alex's Spear Intent seemed to be greater than expected. He reacted a little late for the second spear. When he realized the second spear, he felt a chill.

"A second spear? Not good." He tried to dodge to the side, but it was too late.

"Crack!"

The spear pierced through his hand, rendering it useless. After that, the spear pierced through the Dark Curtain and soared to the sky. Anna's Dark Curtain crumbled after getting pierced by Alex's spear.

But, the Martial Lord lost an arm. If he had his vision, he might be able to dodge it completely. Sadly, the Dark Curtain was Alex's cheat sheet.

Anna and Alex immediately engaged with a full battle.

Leoz's group tried to finish their fight as soon as possible. They wanted to help Anna's group, but when they arrived, it was pretty much covered. In another few moves, they managed to kill the Martial Lords.

They killed the other groups with the same strategy, leaving the last group alive to get interrogated by Jeanne.

Alex and the others didn't want to see what she did, so they waited for her to finish her business. After around half an hour, Jeanne came back.

"Jeanne, what do you find?"

"Interesting information." She smiled. But it was not her happy or cheerful smile. It was like she wanted to butcher people.

"Master, do you remember that sh*tty Princess and sh*tty fiance?"

Alex was confused for a while before he understood her meaning, "Do you mean Senior Sister Putri's friend, Mega, and her fiance's Eric whatsoever?"

"Yeah. They were the ones who sent them. This is the most interesting part. They want to grab the inheritances that you got back in the Death Forest.

"Your Senior Sister is currently locked in a prison because of your information. The war minister from this country thought it was impossible, so he locked her.

"Then, that sh*tty princess took advantage of the situation and asked where the information came from. Because she was forced by the situation, she said it came from you.

"Because we fought openly on the battlefield two days ago. They discovered us and sent them to kill you.

"That sh*tty fiance managed to convince his family by controlling their greed on you. So, you can say these eight Martial Lords were the collaboration between the princess and the fiance.

"But the difference between them was the decision maker. The princess didn't represent the royal family. But the fiance represents his family, Kasmanan Family. In other words, it was the will of Kasmanan's family to kill you."

"Ho..." Alex was astonished while his spirits were eager for another fight.

"Should we kill the princess and the entire Kasmanan Family? With your order, we will immediately destroy them to the best of our ability," Leoz said.

Alex pondered for a moment then shook his head. "First, we are in a war, and second, you guys are not strong enough, a.s.suming there might be many powerful Martial Lords inside that family."

"But what are you going to do with them, Young Master?"

"For now, I don't have the power to destroy them. There is another strategy that I can think of, but I need to wait until I reach rank 4 Array Master." Alex came up with an idea in his mind.

"A rank 4 barrier-type array might not be able to hold them. But a rank 4 array made by King Stage monster blood instead of Lord Stage monster blood should be sufficient.

"Although the preparation is going to be hard since I am only a Martial grandmaster, it should be doable. Though I don't know if I can hold the barrier long enough to kill them before I used all of my energy."

"Alex, are you going to make a rank 4 array? That is reckless." Anna frowned.

"Master, there is another solution for that. We can channel our Spiritual Energy to the array since you are going to plant it on the ground. You can sit on the side to prepare for the escape route." Jeanne suddenly gave a suggestion.

"That's right! We can do that." Anna nodded her head furiously.

Alex also forgot about that. If he planted it on the ground, he could let the others supply the energy. Although he should be the one who activated it, it didn't mean he should be the only one who maintained it. He could let others maintain it for him.

He smiled a bit. "Alright. Here is my plan. I thought about using a rank 4 barrier type array with King Stage Monster Blood to enhance its defensive ability. If a few Martial Lords help me maintain it, it should be able to block them for an hour or two.

"I am going to make a few fire type arrays that could generate a big fire to burn the oxygen around. With the enclosed s.p.a.ce, the oxygen will be reduced as they will be poisoned by the carbon dioxide.

"That's why I want the barrier to be able to hold them down for an hour or two. We will do it at night, where people are less active. And we need to have a good hiding spot since the people will try to search for the cause.

"It should be fine with my s.p.a.ce Door. There is no way they can search us inside that blue colored realm unless they have another s.p.a.ce Element Array Master."

He explained the little thing he knew in basic science.
