"You need to eat more, babe," he whispered, placing a chaste kiss on her forehead. Her body temperature returned to normal after he cuddled with her. She was really weird.

Li Nuxie moved, snuggling closer to Xu Wei's chest. She sighed in her sleep which brought a smile to Xu Wei's lips. Staring at her sleeping face, he could not help but smile contently. He opened his mouth to yawn. Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes and dozed off.

Li Nuxie fluttered her eyelashes before opening her eyes. She squeezed her eyes tightly when she realized that she was on top of Xu Wei. His arms were securing her, as if afraid to let her go. How did she end up there? She opened her eyes slowly and took in Xu Wei's profile.

His chest was heaving lightly while eyes were still closed. He seemed peaceful in his sleep. Both of them were under the blanket. Goodness, what would the people think if they saw them like this?

She tried moving but Xu Wei's hands didn't budge. Sighing helplessly, she stared at his face once again. She gulped. This kind of face was the type she wanted to see when she opened her eyes in the morning.

But then, another person entered her mind as she imagined waking up next to Xu Wei. She pressed her lips together before leaning her face to Xu Wei's chest. She closed her eyes, inhaling the scent of the man under her. She will figure it out after Li Chanying's investigation was through.

Xu Wei woke up the moment Li Nuxie moved. However, he chose to remain 'sleeping', curious on how she would react. An indescribable sense of feelings enveloped his heart when Li Nuxie remained in his arms, even leaning on his chest. At least, she was starting to warm up on him.

Three hours later, someone tapped Li Nuxie's shoulders lightly. Lines appeared on her forehead as she fluttered her eyelashes. Opening her eyes, she saw Li Chanying. Her lips were set in a hard line.

"The plane's landing soon," Li Chanying informed her cousin, barely glancing at the man who was still 'sleeping'.

"Oh," Li Nuxie stared at Xu Wei. "I'll be up in a minute," she said, her gaze remained at Xu Wei's face.

Li Chanying did not bother to nod before turning her back.

"H-Hey," Li Nuxie tugged Xu Wei's sleeve. However, he did not budge. "Hey, the plane's landing soon. I need to get up."

No response.

Li Nuxie's eyebrows drew together. He doesn't want to wake up? Okay, let's see if you can't wake up with this, she thought. A wicked gleam flashed on her eyes.

Without thinking, she leaned closer to Xu Wei's face. Her cold lips touched Xu Wei's lips. Li Nuxie shuddered at the sensation but Xu Wei's body getting stiff did not escape her eyes.

"Stop pretending to sleep," Li Nuxie pinched Xu Wei's exposed arms.

With eyes still closed, Xu Wei's lips curved into a smile. He captured Li Nuxie's hand and brought it on his lips, showering kisses.

Li Nuxie's eyes became round as she stared on what he was doing. "Stop hara.s.sing my hand!" she hissed.

"Don't stress yourself too much," Xu Wei said, noting that she probably had a fever due to NU C's launching. "I can very well provide for you."

Li Nuxie rolled her eyes. "Thanks, but I want to earn my own money."

"Hmmmm," Xu Wei remained in his seat, with no intention of letting Li Nuxie go.

"Brother, I'm going to the bathroom. If you will be so kind –" Chang Lianna interjected. Her voice was laced with sarcasm.

The blood rushed to Li Nuxie's face as she scrambled away from Xu Wei's arms. She almost fell, if not for Xu Wei's hand that steady her footing.

"Have a nice day, Xiexie," he drawled.

Li Nuxie glared at him before sprinting away. She will not admit that his voice sent her egg cells to strike, clearly demanding to meet his sperm cells.

She went back to her seat, opening her bag to get the eyegla.s.ses.

"I thought you'll be up in a minute?" Li Chanying's voice reached her ears.

She shrugged. "My foresight somehow failed me."

"I guess so. It's not healthy if you lose your foresight because of a man," Li Chanying further commented.

A line appeared between Li Nuxie's brows as she glanced towards Li Chanying's seat. "Do you have a problem?"

"Not me. You."

Li Nuxie tilted her head, thinking about her supposed problem. Aside from the Li Textile, her only problem was –. She straightened her back. "You found something?"

Li Chanying remained silent. But Li Nuxie knew about her silence.

"Let's meet at your place, then. Inform Hong Chi about it."

At Li Chanying's study room, Li Nuxie's expression was dark. Her arms were crossed as she moved back and forth her dangling leg.

"So, he is the same person?" she asked, taking a sharp breath. Her voice was piercing that Hong Chi and Li Chanying flinched.

Most people don't like it when they are dupe. But Li Nuxie was not most people. She hated it to the core. After experiencing what that woman did towards her, Li Nuxie was very particular with the word 'trust'.

"Yes," Li Chanying answered. "I hacked the CCTVs around the underground café but almost all of them were completely wiped out. It was just by accident that I saw him."

"Where?" Hong Chi asked her.

Li Nuxie ma.s.saged her temple. "Maybe, he borrowed the car?"

Li Chanying bit her lower lip before glancing at Hong Chi. Her eyes were pleading for help. But Hong Chi turned her head at the other side. There's no way she would face the wrath of Li Nuxie head on.

"Well—" Li Chanying kept wringing her hands.

Li Nuxie glared at her cousin. "Well what?"

"The guy inside the car fetched Chang Lianna as the Black Emperor. He went inside the car as Black Emperor. He was the one driving the Lamborghini Huracan." Li Chanying took a deep breath. "But he went out of the car without a mask. And that person was Xu Wei."

The information blasted Li Nuxie's mind. She closed her eyes, not ready to accept her cousin's discovery. "Maybe, there was a switch along the way?"

"That could be possible," Hong Chi b.u.t.t in. "However, the Chang Condominium towards the City S Hospital is approximately only 10 minutes. Huracan can go up to 200 kilometers in more or less ten seconds."

Li Chanying nodded. "I was able to track all the CCTVs along the way with help from some friends," she reached out for Li Nuxie's hand. "The car didn't stop, Xiexie. Black Emperor and Xu Wei is one and the same."

The air inside the study room seemed to suffocate Li Chanying and Hong Chi. Li Nuxie curled her lips after a while. She could not believe that Xu Wei would pull something like this. She stood up.

Li Chanying and Hong Chi also stood up. "Where are you going, Xiexie?" Li Chanying could not help but worry for her cousin. "You're not going to confront him, right?"

"Nope," Li Nuxie smiled as she headed towards the door. "I'm going home. I need a beauty rest."

"You're not angry?" Hong Chi asked her. This was not good. The more Li Nuxie was not angry, the more they should be worried.

She raised her shoulders in a shrug as she went out of Li Chanying's house. "I don't get mad. I get even." The threat in her voice was carried in the wind.
