"Where are you going?" he asked.

Li Nuxie pressed her lips. "Can I keep it a secret?"

Xu Wei chuckled. "We're not even married yet and you're already keeping a secret from me?"

She laughed, leaning on the counter. "If I don't keep it a secret, I will definitely lie. And you wouldn't like it, right?"

Thin lines appeared on Xu Wei's forehead. No person wanted their loved one to lie. However, he wanted Li Nuxie to trust him enough and tell him her secret.

But he guessed it was still early. "Okay. But I hope in the future, you can trust me and tell me everything."

"Why should I? Are you honest with me?" she retorted.

"Are you?" he asked back.

Li Nuxie rolled her eyes. "I am always honest, Mr. Black Emperor. The mere fact that I allow you to be my boyfriend speaks a lot. So, maybe, after I get back in City S, you can start coming clean."

She glanced at the main door when the door bell rang. "Gotta go. Don't track me down. I will know it," Li Nuxie warned him.

Xu Wei took a deep breath. From what he knew, if he did something not tobher liking, he would definitely pay for it.

"I can't promise to do that, Xiexie," he exhaled helplessly. He would definitely track her down to make sure she was safe.

Li Nuxie stood up. "Okay, then. If you want to do it, do it. But I tell you, if you meddle in my affairs, forget that we know each other," she said, walking towards the door.

"Are you threatening me?" Xu Wei asked, an eyebrow was raised.

"I don't make threats, dear. I just do whatever I d.a.m.n pleased."

A chuckle was heard at the other line. "Alright. I promise not to meddle in your affairs. But if it turned out that you cannot protect yourself and you need my help, blame your incompetence, okay?"

"Sure. You can eat your words now," Li Nuxie taunted him as she opened the door. Li Chanying was standing at the porch, with a questioning look on her face.

Li Chanying shook her head. "Are you falling for him, Xiexie?"

"No. Of course not," Li Nuxie said. "I like him but not necessarily that I love him," she added, a smile was visible on her face.

Li Chanying turned her head towards her cousin, studying Li Nuxie's face. "That's the same face I had when I was falling hard and fast with that guy," she commented.

The smile on Li Nuxie's face froze. She didn't know how to refute Li Chanying's statement.

She sighed as she reached out for Li Chanying's hand. "I know what I'm doing. Just chill," she pressed Li Chanying's hand to rea.s.sure her.

"I'm just reminding you. A lot of women covet the First Young Master Xu. We don't even know why he hid his ident.i.ty from you," Li Chanying pointed it out.

Li Nuxie went inside the house with her cousin trailing behind. "Let's give him the benefit of the doubt," she said. Picking up her handbag, she glanced around the corners of her house.

After she finished the job at Country M, she would stay indoors for a week.
