I looked around the desolate landscape, trying to suppress the chills that threatened to rack my body. Where would the test come from in this environment. I started to wander around aimlessly on guard for any threat.
Suddenly I felt it something cutting through the air towards my head. I casually moved my head, letting the projectile fly past me and embed itself in the ice. I glanced back and noticed that it was a spear made entirely of ice nearly the size of a man.
I wondered where it came from trying to spot anything in the arctic landscape. It didn't take long before I spotted a humanoid shape in the distance and spotted another ice spear slowly forming above his shoulder.
I charged towards the figure, raising my sword ready to deflect any projectile that came my way. I had closed the distance by half when the second ice spear was shot out.
Spin through the air towards me. I did a lunge to the side, getting out of the way of the projectile. It slammed into the ground beside me, sending up chips of ice with the impact.
I resumed running towards the mage, not intending to let him get off another shot. The distance quickly closed before his third spear could be fully formed. I swung down, coating my sword with my newly evolved Sword Ki.
The mage attempted to create a s.h.i.+eld of ice, but my sword reinforced with my Ki cut through it with no problem bisecting the mage, causing him to fall to the ground, his blood staining the ice red.
I noticed there was no burning sensation in my wrist, so I looked around for another opponent. I didn't have to wait long before another ice spear came roaring through the air. I barely dodged it as it let out sparks when it skimmed my side.
I was happy to know it couldn't pierce my skin though I wasn't planning on seeing if I could withstand a direct hit.
I spotted a group of figures to the left and started running towards them. The mage sent one more spear whistling towards me before I could close the distance.
I dodged it and noticed the two figures in front of the mage didn't summon any spears and instead drew swords from their waste s.h.i.+elding the mage from my attack.
I charged into them, attempting to overwhelm them before the mage could get off another spear. My sword swept down at the front swordsman fully empowered by my Sword Ki.
One of the men attempted to block, but my sword overwhelmed him sending him cras.h.i.+ng into the ground with my superior strength.
I then ducked his companion's strike, letting it soar over his head and responding with a swipe of my own catching him in the chest and cutting him in half. With my way to the mage cleared, I lunged towards him, thrusting at his chest.
He attempted to step back, but I activated my stored lightning elements, increasing the speed of my thrust to the point that the mage couldn't dodge. I ran him through and ducked under the ice spear that he managed to cast the second before his death.
I then spun around, ready to finish off the last opponent. But I let out a grin when I noticed that the mages last spell had missed me but managed to impale his companion. It seems he wasn't too worried about friendly fire.
The symbol still hadn't appeared, so I glanced around, looking for the next group. Before I could spot them, a familiar whistling filled the air warning me of the incoming threat.
I tried a standard dodge, but instead of sailing past me like the previous spears, it curved towards me, heading towards my chest even after my dodge.
I reacted faster then I thought possible, coating my sword in Ki as I activated all the lightning elements in my body. My slash sliced through the ice sending it cras.h.i.+ng to either side of me, barely missing running me through.
I urgently started sprinting in towards the direction of the spear, not wanting to suffer more attacks than needed. As the distance closed, another spear came hurtling towards me. With a memory of what happened last time, I dodged I instead planted my fight ready to deflect the spear.
This one didn't deviate from its path in the slightest, making it easy work to slice it in half and sending the two pieces screaming past both sides. I resumed my charge determined to make it to the mage before the next spear.
My luck didn't hold, though, and the third spear came out when I was merely ten feet away. Barely having time to react I attempted to dodge using the burst of speed from my lightning to jump away.
The mage apparently couldn't respond to my sudden dodge as the ice spear didn't manage to curve towards me.
His inability to hit me with his last spear sealed his fate as I dispatched him with a simple swing of my sword. As his lifeless body fell to the ground, my wrist burned as the black character formed on my wrist.
I grinned. It seemed like I would be surviving at least one more floor. I slowly reigned my excitement in knowing I had a lot more to do if I wanted to escape this tower. I wondered what the next opponent would be.
I started wandering around looking for any threat, yet none appeared, leading me to slowly freeze in the arctic wasteland. Luckily or unluckily, I soon felt a vibration rattling the ice. I looked down, seeing the very ground bounce when suddenly a giant beast burst out of the ice.
It resembled a giant white centipede as it reared up before lunging at me, attempting to devour me. I panicked and jumped out of the way its terrifying appearance making me dodge further then I needed leaving me well out of striking range.
I hurriedly composed myself attempting to stare down the monstrosity as I prepared to respond to its next strike. It eyed seemingly surprised that its meal had avoided it.

Instead of lunging at me again, it let out a screech that caused spears of ice thrust up from the ground as they attempted to impale me. I spun in a circle slicing the tops off all the spears before they could impale me.
It didn't give me any rest as its giant maw was already heading towards me after I dealt with the ice spears. I jumped over his head, thrusting as it crashed into the ice where I was standing. I landed on its back and violently thrust my sword into the back of its head, burying it to the hilt.
The beast let out a scream of pain as it flung its head back, flinging me off as I went soaring into the ground, sending flakes of ice flying as I impacted. I groaned as I stood up, my body aching from the impact.
I looked up to see the creature still moving though much slower, and with less intent, then it had previously. I ran towards the beast. It weekly turned to face me as I activated my lightning elements, empowering my jump as leaped onto its head. It was feebly attempting to dodge out of the way of my jump, but its impaired movement wasn't nearly quick enough.
I landed on its head, grabbing the sword and slid down its body toward the ground dragging my sword behind me, nearly decapitating the creature, which finally brought an end to its struggles.
When I landed on the ground beside the dead beast, I sat there trying to catch my breath, the last battle taking quite a toll on me. I attempted to collect myself, knowing that more fights were coming. After a few moments of rest, I got up to try and spot the next opponent.
I spotted a figure cresting the top of the glacier, causing me to grip my sword as I readied for the next fight.
