"Senior Brother Qi, Qin Zheng, I have finished."

"Call me Brother."

"No way," Ye Jiao rolled her eyes. Having to call Qin Zheng as her brother because of their act was already more than enough. She didn't want to call him like that anymore.

Qin Zheng arched his eyebrows. "We're going out of here as brother and sister, so call me correctly, Little Sister."

"… Are you saying that we still have to act when we get out?"

"Otherwise, how do you plan to get out of the city with that small build?"

Ye Jiao's face scrunched at the thought of that. Because she still looked like a small kid, it would make people wonder who she was and where her parents were. If it was two kids, they would just a.s.sume the children were playing or doing an errand that their parents gave them.

This was the reason she often traveled with the others when she entered a city. A normal eleven-year-old kid wouldn't be able to travel alone unless they already have a built similar to that of an adult.

Both Qi Huan and Zhan Jing couldn't find the right time to interfere as the two kids quarreled with one another. They still hadn't started the fight as they battled with their words, but the content of their words gave the two of them a picture of how these two met.

In normal condition, these two would never be able to get along.

'He seems to be a bit softer when facing her compared to me,' Qi Huan frowned. He remembered how Qin Zheng directly attacked him without mercy when he crossed the line once. But towards Ye Jiao, he still took the time to debate.

Both Qin Zheng and Ye Jiao stopped their bickering and kept their dagger and sword away. They had their own research too, so they knew that once an inheritor was found, the island would start to close down even faster. It was because there was no point for the island to stay afloat anymore.

The four of them dashed towards the direction of the entrance. It took them less time as they quickly arrived by the entrance and started to climb the stairs again. As they got nearer to the lake's surface, they could see that a lot of people were already there. Aside from the imperial family members, there were also a lot of travelers and other people who wished to try their luck.

"If we get out, will they try to attack us?" Ye Jiao asked hesitatingly.

Qi Huan nodded his head. He could see his other cousins were already glaring dagger at one another. "There's no doubt that they'll attack. Afterwards, they might force me to give the inheritance."

Ye Jiao smiled bitterly. If they knew that, there was no need to say that they would surely kill them.

Qin Zheng shook his head. "This man didn't come from the Four Kingdoms. He must have come here because of this island."

"They can do that?"

"They're aiming for what you inherit, Qi Huan," Qin Zheng explained unhurriedly. His dark iris showed a trace of ruthlessness for a split second. "Even for people that live outside, the allure of this inheritance is still something that would move them. They would not even hesitate to kill someone just for it."

"It's that precious?" Ye Jiao was surprised. "But I thought it's just for someone who has the bloodline from that Sovereign something."

The three of them turned their heads to the front as they saw the people start to fight with one another. Since they were unable to hear their words, they were not sure what had happened before.

"Shall we try getting out while they're all busy?" Ye Jiao asked. If they waited too long, who knew the island would submerge again.

"That's a good idea. Let's wait for a bit," Qi Huan agreed. As he stood there, he was also trying to digest the Eon Energy that he absorbed from the forest before. There were a lot of them and before, he just focused on taking them into his body because he was not totally sure how much would have left with the two children's insane absorption beside him.

Watching as the fight escalated, they didn't directly move. They have to make sure that no one saw how they suddenly appeared from within the lake.

Someone fell into the water. Ye Jiao quickly turned her eyes in that direction, but she realized that she couldn't see him. It was as if he was not thrown into the lake but another dimension altogether.

"This lake itself is an array and there's only one way to get in," Qin Zheng pointed to the surface above them. "If they fell on the other side of the lake, they would be sent to a completely different place."

"I don't know. I just know the basic use of them and the way they work."

Zhan Jing coughed to get the children's attention. "Let's get out. It's starting to get extremely messy."

The four of them immediately got out of the water and headed straight to the entrance location.

A sword made its way to Ye Jiao as she ducked it. In her hand, her dagger appeared and with it, she swung it towards the man. The flesh was torn and blood spilled out. The man died before he could realize what had happened to him.

"Be careful, they're attacking randomly!"

An arrow was directed to Qi Huan's head. He agilely ducked it as he took out his sword. His eyes were looking at the direction of his cousin, who was holding a bow directed at him.

"Your silver hair attracts too much attention!"

"Isn't it because you two are so small too?"

"There are other children in this place!"

They managed to avoid the attack, but when they reached the front door, a terrifying pressure came upon them. Their hearts dropped.
