"That's breaking through?" Lu Wan was dumbfounded when he heard Ye Jiao's words.

Ye Jiao laughed and nodded her head. "Yes. It might not seem much different from ordinary training, but you have obviously broken through to a different rank, Senior Brother Lu. How about trying to control your Eon Energy at a much wider length?"

Despite still feeling doubt, Lu Wan chose to do as Ye Jiao said. He waved his hand as Eon Energy came out from his body. It reached the other side of the room without much difficulties, a distance that shouldn't be possible if he hadn't broken through to rank 3.

"Y-you're correct," Lu Wan was ecstatic as relief was written all over his face. He didn't expect that from the poison he was forced to consume, he would be able to break through. The poison destroyed his body and organs, but because he had his own resistance, it didn't completely destroy him. When he nourished his body again, they restored and at the same time, his core expanded while his own Eon Energy grew purer.

Right now, he wished to give thanks to Chen Tian for giving him this chance.

That annoying king must have not known that his decision would instead give Lu Wan the chance to break through. 

Ye Jiao also smiled widely. She genuinely felt happy for her senior brother and could understand his feelings a bit. Among the three of them, Lu Wan was the slowest one of them. They were planning to enter the academy this year and if Lu Wan couldn't make a breakthrough, they would be forced to leave him.

After all, they might be comrades, but they also have their dreams and goals that they wish to pursue.

Now that Lu Wan had broken through to rank 3, there was nothing that made them feel uneasy anymore. They could all partic.i.p.ate in the selection to enter the academies.

"I don't want to break your happiness, Senior Brother Lu, but we have to get out of here soon," Ye Jiao stood up. She hadn't finished eliminating the poison to ingest them, but their amount was no longer life threatening. "We still need to take a leave from this palace."

"Right," Lu Wan nodded with a smirk on his face. "What's your plan, Jiao'er? Leaving the palace quietly or making a disaster?"

Disaster?

Lu Wan's word selection was interesting as Ye Jiao's lips curled up in amus.e.m.e.nt. She nodded strongly. Her eyes flashed with ruthlessness. "Since I'm already inside the palace, I might as well take some interest from them."

After reading that letter, Ye Jiao had just realized just how big a tyranny Chen Family has been in this kingdom. She was pretty sure that every single genius in this kingdom wouldn't be able to escape from their clutches if not for some kind of miracle.

"Good," Lu Wan clenched his fist. "I also have a debt I wish to settle with them."

"You haven't stabilized your newfound rank yet, so you should settle with fighting against the weaker guards," Ye Jiao arranged the plan as she pushed the door open. She didn't lock it again after she entered the room, so there was no need to use the key again.

Lu Wan pursed his lips as he walked out. "That means, you're the one who will fight against Chen Tian?"

"Yes."

"Are you sure you can?"

"Senior Brother Qi should be able to head into the inner palace after he has finished with his task," Ye Jiao replied. She looked over to Lu Wan. "I'm not here alone, you know."

"Of course you're not." Lu Wan rolled his eyes. "What's the plan?"

"You should get out of the palace and burn this place."

"BURN?" Lu Wan nearly yelled out loudly. He knew that this place was disgusting as there were a lot of traces of torturing. When they dragged him to this place, he could perfectly guess what kind of experience those people had when they came here. There were a lot of tools hanging on the walls and placed on the table that the guards showed to him when they first threw him here.

Geniuses were usually proud and unwilling to bow down to anyone else. Sometimes, it was possible to subdue them with strength, but with the talent the imperial family had, it could barely impress them. Because of that, the only possibilities would be to force them to surrender using all kind of means.

Once they gave their vow, the Imperial Family would let them off.

That poison was only the first step.

The next step was much crueler.

Ye Jiao nodded with a ruthless glint inside her green pupil. "Since this place is so corrupted, isn't it better to just let it be destroyed?"

For a moment, Lu Wan could sense a chill coming down to his spine. Even though he had gotten used to staying around Ye Jiao, this was the first time he felt danger from facing his junior sister. It was as if she was planning on killing him and leaked out killing intent.

"I understand. I'll start," Lu Wan grinned.

As he said that, Lu Wan took out his real weapon: chain and blade.

A few guards appeared within their sight and before they could understand what was going on, Lu Wan had attacked them.

Slas.h.!.+ Slas.h.!.+

"There's no need to kill them all," Ye Jiao frowned.

"Those guards at this place are the one who torture the prisoners," Lu Wan chuckled yet his eyes were also gleaming with killing intent. "Are you sure you want to let them off?"

They torture the prisoner?

Ye Jiao knew that some of the guards wouldn't just do this because they were ordered to. The thought of torturing other people might haunt them if they didn't like it. Besides, those who could stay for a long time in this place should have long known that they have to torture the guards. They must have also enjoyed the process. 

"No."

Ye Jiao took out her dagger and a cloth to cover her mouth. She nodded to Lu Wan as she started to dash from her position and made a killing spree.

It was not a fight anymore because not a single one of the guards were capable of detecting these two's movements. Ye Jiao has always been focusing on her speed and hiding her presence, which was the reason she was able to move undetected. On the other hand, Lu Wan was more focused on the long range attack.

With his blade and chain, no one was able to contend against him. Each one of them died as they made their way out of the prison.

The smell of blood started to permeate the place when they had finished. Both of them didn't count the number of guards they had killed anymore. In just the matter of minutes, this place has become a pool of blood.

"Start the fire."

"Right away," Lu Wan glanced at the nearby woods and started a fire. By using his Eon Energy to spread it, the whole area was covered in fire in just a mere minute.

"Eon Energy is really convenient."

"You're going to run out of Eon Energy soon if you use it recklessly like that."

"I'm just testing something," Lu Wan rolled his eyes. He had to admit that he was using a bit too much Eon Energy by using it to control the fire, but it was interesting. He never expected that they could use it in that way.

"Let's go, there are still a lot of area we need to cover."

"Right."

Swis.h.!.+ Slas.h.!.+

The two of them swiftly made their way to the palace while Lu Wan kept on burning everything on his way. The sound of servants panicked filled the area, but these two didn't stop at all.

Clang!

Lu Wan raised his chain in surprise. He looked at the guard in front of him and pushed the man back. Twisting his arm, he controlled the direction of the chain and the blade soon headed to the man's direction.

Clang!

The guard blocked the attack. It was at this time that Ye Jiao arrived by his side and swung her dagger.

"You-!"

The guard tried to attack Ye Jiao, but his sword only reached air. His eyes widened as he fell to the ground in disbelief.

"He surprises me," Lu Wan commented.

Ye Jiao looked in a different direction. "He's the personal guard of the Imperial Family, isn't that right, Chen Tian?"

Lu Wan's face changed considerably when he heard Ye Jiao's words. He readied his stance as he turned his head to the direction where Ye Jiao was looking.

On the other end of the room, Chen Tian was standing. His purple robe was moving slightly because of his Eon Energy's movements while his eyes were looking at the three of them deviously. It was clear that he was angry.

"I see that you have prepared a backup plan, Lu Wan."

"Of course I have," Lu Wan snickered. "Do you think that I'll come here without any preparation, Old Man?"

Chen Tian frowned. He waved his hand as boundless Eon Energy made their way to Lu Wan's position.
