There were ten black hooded figures stood outside the gate while watching Abium's luxurious carriage moving towards the east.
Once the carriage was out of their sights, Watson removed his black hood and took out a puppet raven from his backpack.
Click!
With a slight push on the puppet raven's mantle, he activated the rune circle. Then he placed a scroll on its mouth. Next second, that raven slowly began to rose up in the sky while flapping its puppets wings and flew towards east.
After confirming that the puppet raven disappeared from his sights, he breathed out a sigh of relief and said calmly.
"Listen up. Now, our job is to follow that carriage, and we will only take action after we got a reply from lord Murius or mister Bilet. Got it?" All those hooded figures nodded except a single warrior.
"Why do we have to wait for those unknown mages reply, Watson? Can't we deal with them by ourselves? Or are you afraid we would lose in a fight against that elf?" A guy around 6 feet tall with broad shoulders asked with a deep tone while removing his hood.
He wore a silver knight armor, black leather shoes, and brown pant and s.h.i.+rt. He had thin silver-grey hair, which almost touched his nape, barely visible eyebrows, and round silvery eyes. He was the same silver knight that Abium's group faced after exiting the auction house a few weeks ago.
"Sir Hewet, that mage is just a backup force if we somehow screwed up this mission," Watson said with a hint of annoyance and started to walk ahead while pondering deeply.
…
At the same time, Abium's carriage took a slight turn and started to move directly towards the east direction. Most of their journey was tedious. By the end of that day, Abium took out the rune book, which was written by mage Ubius, and slowly placed it on his lap to read.
While others were chattering in whispers, Abium concentrated his full attention on that book. Its outer cover was a sheepskin, but numerous rune letters carved on it gave off some mysterious feeling. In the center, there was also a triangle-shaped symbol engraved that gave this book a unique presence.
He slowly moved his right hand and placed it on that triangle symbol.
Spark!
A small electric current came out from that symbol and alerted everyone inside that carriage.
"E-Eh?" "W-Wh"
Slowly a red light took form from that triangle and directly entered Abium's mind. Following that, a series of basic information about a magic array circle entered Abium's mind.
"What was that?!" Lily and Helena asked in a bewildered tone while Camilla flew in front of that book while flapping her tiny wings and stared at that s.h.i.+ning triangle with glittering emerald eyes.
"Camilla! Come here, don't disturb him." Helena quickly recovered her sense and grabbed her sister using her left hand before she could do any rash actions. Only then everyone started to notice Abium already seemed to be in deep thought.
Abium now lowered his head while blankly stared at that book and started to a.n.a.lyze the basic information about the magic array circles in detail.
Mages use many materials for creating a magic array circle. For inscribing on the normal floors, most of the mages would use chalk, which they can get everywhere. As for writing the magic array in the scrolls, they had to use a quill pen to draw the rune letters and circles.
What is the magic array circle? He thought in puzzlement, soon, another set of information appeared in his mind.
Magic array circles are like connectors, which is used to create magic spells models outside one's mind. Mages can create those magic array circles anywhere, like in normal scrolls or magic towers walls. And once they create spell models in those magic array circles, it will transform into a magic rune circle.
So, it is almost impossible to create a magic spell without the help of a magic array circle.
Also, there are no restrictions like you can to only create magic circles in spell scrolls or magic towers. As long as you have enough materials, you can create a magic rune circle on the normal floor. Hmm, but the problem is mana. Once I case a spell, the mana would run dry. If the mana dries out, then the array circle would break along with the spell model. He nodded with understanding.
Abium understood why it was so important to know more about the magic array circle. He didn't mind others gazes and continuously started to memorize the whole book. During their second day camping near the woods, Abium picked up a quill pen from his spatial ring and began to draw a small magic array circle on a scroll.
The group was still in the territory under the royal family's control. The area they choose to camp was a plain land with some fields, weeds, and a few birch trees everywhere. Abium sat on a broken birch woods while others were starting to build tents a few meters away from him. Slowly, dusk arrived, and Abium also began to notice that circles and letters were glowing in the scroll which he was creating. With a happy expression, he continued to create that magic array circle. For the first few hours, he failed miserably and only managed to inscribe a few runes letters on those array circles.
It's almost midnight! Abium suddenly jerked up as he noticed the midnight red star was already hanging in the sky while emitting dim scarlet light.
Once more!
Once again, he drew a primary creation array circle following that, he started to inscribe mana control runes then added another mana manipulation runes in that array circle. Next, he wrote another few runes for maintaining the connection between the low tier magic stone in the center and the array circle. When he finally entirely inscribed that magic array circle, a dim yellow light started to appear on that array circle.
Success! His lips started to go upwards and were about to shout in joy. Still, suddenly he noticed the stability of the mana began to change and soon accompanied by an elemental fluctuation.
It's going to explode!
Without hesitation, Abium cast a blink spell and reappeared a few meters away from that scroll with a startled expression.
Boom!
The next moment, a ma.s.sive booming sound echoed from that scroll and waking everyone up who was in a deep sleep.
The explosion almost burned the area around the one-meter radius weeds and that broken birch wood, leaving only black ashes behind.
The effect is almost similar to zero tier spell. Abium wiped the cold sweats that were dripping down from his forehead and breathed out a sigh of relief.
Thank mother, I teleported earlier; otherwise, my s.h.i.+rts would be burned to ashes. He cursed inwardly.
"W-What happened?!" Helena's startling shout came from one of the tents on his right side, and soon, he saw everyone walking out of their tents one by one. Meanwhile, Abium stood with a dumbfounded expression on his face and soon gave them an apology.
"Ah! Sorry, I made a mistake during an experiment."
"Eh? But what kind of experiment could make such an explosion? If you have such a thing, then why didn't you use that when we are fighting against that demon?" Lily's countered with a sharp glare.
"Well, I also found this just now." Abium scratched his head and responded. Everyone gave him one suspicious look and soon went back to their tents, leaving Abium behind.
He quickly moved another few meters away from those tents and started to recall about those mistakes he did earlier. He once again took out that book and checked if he missed any runes or not. Soon, he frowned because everything he did was correct.
The weather sure is cold here. Out of nowhere, Abium suddenly heard Azolla's tone and almost shouted out loud in a fright.
What the heck was that? When did you even try to speak like a human? He shouted in his mind for startling him and soon froze.
She is giving me hints. Abium's eyes quickly beamed in light and instantly drew one extra rune to adjust the temperature and started to inscribe the magic array. Still, he made a slight mistake when writing one rune letter, and again, a booming sound echoed.
This time cursing sound could be heard from all those four tents, but he didn't care much about those and continued. When the sunlight gave a warm feeling on his face, finally, he completely inscribed the magic array circle with success smile on his face. That scroll glowed in a bright white light, which made his lips curved up. But soon, he felt multiple glares from all five of them except the coachman and s.h.i.+vered a little.
"Ahem, sorry for disturbing your sleep-" He stopped in midway because he noticed all of them looking at him with bloodshot eyes.
Whoos.h.!.+
Like a flash of lighting, Helena arrived next to him and gave him a deadly glare.
Did I make her angry? He looked at her a forced smile on his face, but before he could think, her hand grabbed his collar tightly.
BAM!
She instantly headb.u.t.ted him.
s.h.i.+t.
He didn't expect her to attack him all of a sudden that caused his dizzy, but soon, he felt something hit from his back, and darkness covered his eyes.
Who?
THUD!
That was the moment he knew someone from his behind had already knocked him out, and soon, his figure fell on the ground.
At the same time, Abium felt some invisible force was pulling him.
What is this?! He was startled as he noticed the darkness starting to break like a gla.s.ses and soon noticed he stood on white marble tiles. In front of him was a ma.s.sive fountain filled with mysterious white clouds and five green pedicels peeking out from those white clouds. Each one of those large pedicles was stood in each corner and gave off a mystical vibe. And in one of that pedicle, a large white petal around head size was attached while emitting dim white light.
Where the h.e.l.l am I? Petal? Flowers? He started to frown deeper and soon moved towards that large head-sized white petal.
Is this somehow related to the divinity inside my body? He made a guess and slowly touched that petal with his right hand.
Spark!
Slowly a rectangular mirror around one meter wide appeared in front of his face and gave him a slight scare. In that mirror, he wasn't able to see any reflection at all. All he could see was just empty darkness inside.
His thick eyebrows arched upwards as he walked closer towards that gla.s.s-like material while thinking deeply about this place.
I'm sure this is not the spirit realm. It's almost like I'm inside a dream. No! I'm not inside a dream but somewhere else. He could feel a small connection between his spirit and dark place.
Tch, it's just a mirror- Suddenly, his face stiffens up as he touched that mirror.
What is this?! Abium drew a long breath as he stepped backward and gazed at that mirror with a startled face. He saw a humanoid girl appearance.
She is not a human being. His amber eyes squinted as he saw a figure of a human-faced girl child with purple color fish scales on her cheeks and hands. He could see that the female child was laid on the ground, and both her hands and legs chained completely. But what made his expression froze was, he saw a thick black rod stood upward while piercing that child's chest.
Is it a power of time divinity? Is this mirror giving me some clue? He quickly raced his thoughts while trying to figure out any information from that picture.
He started to observe that figure carefully, but couldn't recognize this figure at all.
He rubbed his chin and soon noticed that the image started to disappear, leaving only an empty blackness.
Buzz!
The next instant, a slight vibration appeared inside that dark room, and Abium felt his consciousness being sucked out.
Soon, he felt fatigue feeling, and fell into sleep.
By the time he woke up in the real world, he had noticed all of them were soundlessly sleeping below the tree shadow near to him while coachman stood a few meters away from them guarding.
He slowly sat up from the ground and s.h.i.+fted his eyes towards the middle-aged coachmen and asked with a surprised tone.
"How long have I been blanked out?"
"My lord, it's only about 2 hours." Abium sighed out a breath of relief as he heard the answer from that coachman and nodded with a smile.
As he was about to move towards the carriage, he suddenly halted his footsteps and started observing coachman. He had messy black hair, downturned deep brown eyes, barely visible eyebrows, and square face.
His eyes also red due to lack of sleep. d.a.m.n, I should refrain from doing experiments like that.
"What's your name?" Abium asked.
"Orson, My lord." Coachman replied with a nervous tone.
"Okay, Orson, you can go and take some rest now. I will do the guard duty." Abium said slowly.
"Thank you, my lord." Orson looked at him with respect and bowed.
"Nah! It's my fault, anyway." Abium just waved his hand and soon started to think deeply about what had happened earlier in that dark room.
I have no idea what that room was, but it seems to be related to the time divinity. Hmm, should I ask Azolla about this thing? No. I will tell her later once I confirmed what that dark room is.
As for that unknown race child, I have no idea who she is. It appears she is in some dark prison and on the verge of the death door. Is she a threat or hope? A question appeared like a puzzle inside his mind as he ma.s.saged his template.
For now, I should concentrate on the current process- Abruptly, he stopped his talking and noticed a change inside his mind.
Somehow I know how to activate that mysterious spell. Is it because of that white petal-like divinity? A smile crept on his face and quickly said to Azolla.
'Azolla, I know how to activate that time divinity spell. Moreover, its called seer's intuition.'
'How did you figure that out, kid? Hmm, I never heard of any time spells like this.' Azolla said with a surprised tone.
'What about those diviners' spells?' Abium was a little shocked and asked in antic.i.p.ation.
I have heard diviners could be able to predict futures and even write prophecies. But from the looks of it, there seem to be more secrets. He muttered to himself inwardly.
'Diviners also be able to see a glimpse of a future if they are in the area of a particular G.o.d's domain. With their G.o.d's help, they would be able to point out the possible future. But they wouldn't be able to predict a possible future if a higher being intervenes.' Azolla's words left him to ponder deeply for a few seconds, and soon, he snapped out of it and asked curiously.
'Hmm, are you saying with this 'seer's intuition' spell, I could see a glimpse of a possible future even if some higher being intervenes?'
'Maybe, but I'm not sure. Futures change from time to time, so it is impossible to grasp one's future. The only person who completely grasped the power of time was Udnir, but no one knew where he went after that Ancient war. If you want to find more results, you have to increase your strength and search for him.' Azolla said with a sigh.
'Azolla, have you met him before?'
'No. These are the things I heard and read in the royal library books. The only G.o.d I met after my birth is Lady Nyara. Even that was due to your intervention.' Azolla's words left him more clueless.
With a nod, he moved towards the carriage while rubbing his forehead and waited for others to woke up. When the time they woke up from their sleep, it was almost 11.30 am. Soon, the group resumed their journey and moved towards their next destination.
…
At the eastern sh.o.r.eline of Alastall woodlands,
Group of bandits stood outside of that black magic tower and appeared to be ready to set out somewhere. All of them were whispering and stood in an unorganized manner while without listening to leader Keith's scolding.
"Girl, did you manage to memorize that rune book completely?" A husky voice came from the hooded pale-skinned guy made other bandits shut their mouth, and soon, everyone startled inside. Well, the first one to feel anxious was Keith, because he never expected that Lord Murius would choose her as his disciple instead of him.
After two years, he is now teaching her necromancy.
Yes, to become a necromancer, there was no restriction. And Keith agreed to work with lord Murius because of that reason. Even though he had to be afraid of light church's inquisition and all if he got caught, but still he would live long. But now, his dream was shattered after this girl's appearance.
"My lord, I think I still need some time to finish it," Aliza replied thoughtfully.
"Good; once you finish that, you can start read those cultivation techniques," Murius said.
"Okay, My lord." Aliza nodded her head repeatedly and slowly s.h.i.+fted her head towards the other bandits.
"Now, everyone listens carefully. You are the ones who are going to partic.i.p.ate in this mission under Aliza's leaders.h.i.+p. Your work is to a.s.sist some warriors from the kingdom and help them if anything happens." Murius paused for a second and continued. "Keith, your strength is enough to back them up, and if you meet someone above 5th tier warriors, withdrew from there. Got it?"
I already sent a message to that apprentice necromancer Bilet, so I think I don't need to worry about Aliza's safety.
"Yes, my lord. But who is going to guard this magic tower if those pirate groups invade here?" Rudie asked in little confusion. Although those undead skeletons were strong, he knew those pirates from pirate town would easily kill all those undead skeletons. If not for his boss's fifth tier warrior strength and others who were at least above 3 rd tier strength, the whole tower would become under their control.
"Not a problem, Those pirates won't come after this tower. They will also be focusing their full attention on that baron's movements. If that baron didn't die now, then they will also have to face a powerful enemy in the future. You can go now."
Bandits nodded their head, and soon, Keith took the lead to move towards the west, leaving the only hooded figure to guard the tower. Of course, their destination was the abandoned tunnel, which connects this Alastall land to the Peral kingdom. The woodland was filled with greenery like Amaryllis plants, Black walnut, Atlas cedars, red mangrove, and some other rare trees.
As they were moving closer towards the west, Aliza suddenly noticed that something was off.
"Why are we moving towards south, Mister Keith?" There was a hint of nervousness in her voice. She was the only woman in this group, and more than that, she still didn't start to practice in any path and only had somewhat intelligent to lead these bandits. During these past two years, this was the first time she came out of that tower but now felt something was not right. As other bandits heard her words, they also gave a questionable look towards Keith.

"Boss, where are we going?" Rudie's caramel-colored eyes squinted.
"Shut your mouth and follow my order, Rudie." Keith's tone went harsh that made other bandits narrow their eyes even more.
"Boss, if Lord Murius found out you're disobeying his orders, then we all will be turned into skeletons." Rudie panicked by Keith's sudden actions and spoke in a nervous tone.
Slap!
A loud slapping sound echoed inside the woods as a Rudie's figure abruptly fall on the ground after losing the sudden balance.
Thud!
"Where do you got that much courage to talk back to me, Rudie?" Keith gave a kick at Rudie's big belly and asked with a sharp tone.
"S-Sorry Boss." Rudie rubbed his red-colored palm printed face with fearful while slowly sat up with his big body.
"If one more word from your mouth, I will chop your head. Got it?" Keith sends a death glare at Rudie then s.h.i.+fted his gaze towards Aliza.
"Boys, Tie both her hands and legs now. You don't have to be afraid of that necromancer. He is not going to come after us even if he found out about her. She is a very precious treasure that's going to change our miserable life." Keith gave a confident smile and revealed his real intentions. Followed by other bandits s.h.i.+fted their gaze towards Aliza with little confusion.
