'I can find out more about that empire's history later. Now, I must find a way to gather more information about these necromancer group. From the Yozis's letter, I'm sure there is going to be a gathering on 14th at Keeper's underground market in Tupak lane. But there is no way I could be able to partic.i.p.ate-' Suddenly, Abium's eyes flickered, and soon his lips starting to go upwards.
'I can partic.i.p.ate in the necromancers gathering using this faceless gla.s.s mask. Moreover, they seemed to be hiding their faces from other necromancers. But, I can't take risks without any proper preparation. Furthermore, this guy's height and mine are way too different, which will easily expose my real ident.i.ty to others.' Abium rubbed his forehead and started to ponder. He knew this mask might be able to fool others, but the ones who were close to Baxter would quickly notice he was not the real one.
'The main problem for me is height, voice, and knowledge. From the letter, I can a.s.sume that Yozis must be this Baxter's old friend. Even if I changed my voice and height using other artifacts or spell scrolls, I would definitely become clueless if he asked something about Baxter. Hmm, what to do?' Abium asked himself and soon helplessly sighed.
'What happened, kid?' Azolla curiously asked as she noticed his helplessness.
Abium quickly told the problem, and soon Azolla gave a chuckle and answered.
'Just use that pendant to enslave his soul and ask him.' Azolla's reply made his expression stiffen up.
'What do you mean?' He asked with an anxious tone.
'Well, I forgot to tell you more about that pendant kid. In that pendant, there are another two spells engraved inside. Don't worry; those two spells don't have any side effects.' Azolla's answer left him stunned.
'Why didn't you say that earlier?' Abium almost shouted inside his mind.
'Because I created that way, kid. My creators created in a way so that I could act more like a human. Sometimes, I would forget to tell a few things, and that's how I'm special from other artificial spirits.' Azolla said with a low tone and continue to explain about those spells.
'As for those two spells, first one is just a zero tier spell called soul catcher, and it can simply enslave low mortal souls. You can use that spell to even control one or two undead skeletons. The correspondent first-tier spell is called soul bind; it could enslave nearby strong souls like that necromancer's soul. Most likely that Baxter was planning to use this spell on you to control. That's it. There are no second-tier spells.' After hearing her explanation, Abium breathed out a sigh of relief and nodded in understanding.
Following that, Abium stealthily walked out of his house and moved towards the city wall that situated a little far from Black street. He knew if he uses any of these spells inside this city, then his location would be instantly exposed and attract many mages' attention.
After an hour, Abium arrived near the city wall, then silently climbed up and went outside of the Dewsummit city. After Abium arrived at a secluded area, he quickly took out Baxter's corpse, and the cursed pendant then started to cast the first tier spell.
Suddenly the surrounding area turned chilly, and soon he noticed a transparent figure floating near to him.
'Is he always moving along with me?' Abium almost scared by this and quickly asked Azolla.
'His soul is still not entered reincarnation circle, kid. If someone died, their soul would stay in this world for a few hours near to their bodies. Even if you put it inside the spatial ring, their soul will always stay near to it. During this time period, some people would use resurrection spells on them and revive them back.' She said.
'But what about that guy named Lord Nezad? I saw in the letter that necromancer Yozis mentioned that he came back from the dead.' Abium asked with puzzlement on his face.
'It's like cheating death, kid. In the past, maybe due to some reasons, that guy's body must have gotten completely destroyed. So, he split a part of his soul and placed it in this world and moved his original soul to the Underworld.'
'Underworld?' Abium asked with a surprised face. Because this was the first time, he had heard about such a place name.
'It's the same as Abyss and h.e.l.l. That place is filled with full of undead creatures. Back to the topic, that Nezad must have stayed in that plane for all these years and waiting for a new host. He used that Bilet's death and came back from the Underworld.' She ended her lengthy speech, and at the same time, Abium noticed Baxter's transparent form bowing respectfully.
'Heh, is this Soul Bind spell's enslaving effect?' His lips curved upward.
Without wasting any time, Abium starting to ask more about that guy's past and started to memorize all the information for the next two hours. Unlike last time, this soul of Baxter completely told all the info like Abium was his master.
"Now, one last question. Why did you try to create problems for me? Who told you to enslave my soul?" Abium asked with a cold tone. A hesitation appeared in Baxter's face, and he soon spoke without having any other choice.
"It a request from a guy. He wore a black hood and gave off a dangerous aura around himself." That spiritual Baxter paused for a second and continued with a hint of fear on his face. "He said he is the controller of fate." As he finished those words, Baxter's transparent figure froze for a second and started to disappear from there, leaving Abium in a dumbfounded state.
'Is he that elven guy? Also, he controls fate? Azolla, do you know what does it mean?' Abium asked hurriedly.
'Hmm, it means he must have a fate divinity with himself and appears to be aware that you have time divinity.' Her words made his hair stood on his back. But she soon continued.
'But he appears to be afraid of you. He didn't come close to you and only contacted using video communication rune. But I don't know why he is targeting you.' Azolla said with a confused tone.
'Isn't it because he wants my divinity?' Abium responded while storing Baxter's dead body back to his own spatial ring.
'No, kid. I don't think so. I heard time divinity and fate divinity are polar opposite, and both of the G.o.ds will always be on bad terms. Fate and destiny G.o.ds always want to control the future timeline, but time G.o.d will always break them and create a different unique future. Like fire and water, these two sides won't mingle together. You did hear lady Nayra's words, right? She must have protected you from being noticed by destiny G.o.ddess.' Azolla's reply made Abium realize the seriousness. Suddenly Abium thought of something and asked curiously.
'So, who will win if there is a fight between fate and time?'
'It always depends on luck-' Abruptly Azolla stopped herself from talking. After a short silence, a burst of laughter echoed inside his mind.
'Haha, now I get it. That hooded elven guy is after luck!' Her words puzzled Abium, so he quickly asked her with a frown.
'What do you mean?'
'Did you remember the strike of lightning when you were battling with that silver knight?' Azolla asked with a pleasant tone.
'You mean it was due to luck? But I don't have any power of luck, right?' Abium felt clueless, but suddenly he thought of something and quickly took out a small palm-sized stone tablet from his spatial ring. It was the stone tablet Lily stole from that greater demon's spatial ring!
'Now, you get it? He is after this stone. Although I don't know how this mysterious stone activated now, I'm 90 percent sure this stone must have the power of luck.' Azolla said with an energetic voice.
'Is it divinity?' Abium knitted his eyebrows.
'No idea, kid. These divine powers can only be found out by the change in the surrounding atmosphere. Take this stone tablet as an example, this stone wielder can become a lucky person in many ways, but there will always be side effects to these types of power. For example, it basically borrows another person's luck to boost your own and leaving them as an unlucky person. For example, that pitiful silver knight, and that death mage girl named Aliza you hated,' Azolla stopped for a second and continued 'I think that Watson, Bilet, and Baron Harry might also be affected by this stone.' Her explanation made Abium stunned.
As he thought about that, he starts to understand the power of this luck stone and felt fearful.
After calming himself down, Abium had another question.
'How did he know I have that luck stone tablet?… Wait a minute! He showed me a video of me, Sarah, and Lily battling against that snake demon and threatened me to do a favor for him. How did he arrive there during the royal banquet incident? Wait!… What if that whole king's a.s.sa.s.sination plot and demon's infiltration were really under his schemes?' A chill went up to his spines as he thought of that.
'Hmm, once I dealt with these necromancers, then I will definitely b.u.mp into him in one way or another.' Frowned Abium as he thought in his mind and soon returned back to the city without alerting any guards on the city wall. After he came back to Black street, Abium entered his room and went to his bedroom. There were many questions in his mind, but he knew that thinking over those things would do no good to him.
After he took rest for a few hours, Abium woke up and took a warm bath then quickly walked out of his single storied house. He promptly walked out of the Black street in Commoners' Borough and directly entered Merchants' Borough's main street.
Soon, he arrived at the entrance of the Orchid auction house and went inside to buy few first-tier spell scrolls. One spell scroll was, simple body appearance changing spell scroll, and another one was voice changing spell scroll. As the name suggests, these two spell scrolls could make the scroll user's voice and body to alter.
'I think it's better to buy two spell scrolls on each spell.' Abium thought to himself.
As he entered the reception hall, he didn't go to meet lady Tabitha. Instead, he directly went towards the exchange counter and brought those four first-tier spell scrolls using 600 white golds. At first, he thought he wouldn't find any kind of spells like those but soon became relieved.
After that, Abium walked out of the auction house around 11 A.M and moved towards a fas.h.i.+on shop to buy a gray-haired wig, and other few things. Following that, he returned to his house and started to change his clothes into a ragged one and also wore old leather shoes.
'Its time to go back to slums.' Abium let out a sigh and walked out of his room. He could feel a few weird gazes from the neighboring areas, but he didn't mind them.
After a few minutes, he arrived at the entrance of Slum Borough.
'Hmm, I don't know when this gate will open again.' He frowned a bit and soon noticed a familiar face who leaned his back on to the wall with a stiff expression on his face. As Abium starting to move closer towards Palmer, he also noticed Abium and waved towards his direction.
'Yup, his eyes are glittering.' Abium responded with a bitter smile on his face and soon arrived in front of Palmer. Although he could simply avoid this guy, Abium thought of a better way.
'I can use his help in various places.'
"Where did you go yesterday?" Palmer gave him a suspicious look and asked with a frown.
"Sir, I went back to my village to secretly check on my parents." Abium lied without even flinching.
"Oh? I thought of you are a slum kid. So, What's your name? where are you from?" Palmer glanced at him up and down and asked without hiding his curiosity.
"I'm Jeeves, sir. I'm from elm village. I ran away from my village due to some fight, and I came here planning to become a gang leader." Abium showed his facial expression like he was a kid who was obsessed with money and evilness.
"Heh, a thief who wants to become a gang leader? Hmm, even if you became a gang leader, you have to pay me some share, got it?" Palmer said with a wide grin on his face while stretching his palm towards his front.

'Ha! I hate being robbed by this guy.' Abium gave a self-mocking laugh inside and took out four gold coins from his pocket.
"Oh? I think I should resign from my job and join you. You are earning more money than me." Palmer gave a pat on his shoulder while taking two gold coins from his palm and moved away from him.
Abium, on the other hand, breathed out a sigh of relief and joined the queue. As he listened to the nearby peoples talking, Abium found out the gate would open around 1 P.M. Without anything to do, Abium simply stood there in the queue and waited patiently.
Soon, the time flew by, and around 1 P.M, the Slum Borough's entrance gate opened, and soon Abium walked inside.
