Infinite Adventure 37 Chapter 35 - Luffy Evolves

Two day later...

Sora was called by Luffy on his den den mus.h.i.+. Luffy was really excitedly yelling about something for awhile before Zoro took the den den mus.h.i.+ from him.

Zoro: "Hey, Sora, we did it."

Sora: "What did you guys do? Wreck another island?"

Zoro: "What? No. We found a rubber island for Luffy."

Sora: "That's great, let me know when Luffy gets the Core."

Zoro: "He did..."

Sora: "Oh! Then, I'll meet ya'll at my castle tonight. I'll get him to evolve, and we'll see what he becomes."

After that, he hangs up quickly. It was almost time for him to go meet Kalifa again. He thought she was warming up to him lately. She didn't call him a disgusting pirate the previous day. He wouldn't leave until she decided to follow him. He could use her to try those Maid Pieces he made, or he could just kidnap her. However, he didn't want to resort to Maid Pieces yet. He would just kidnap her if she hadn't agreed to leave with him by the time Luffy left Water 7. This gave her a lot if time, since Luffy still wasn't even at Water 7. Today, he would begin his own evolution, giving him a lead over Ace and Sabo.

Sora decided to give them a call, so they could witness the evolution of Luffy and also so they would know that Luffy beat them. When he informed Ace, Ace began yelling at crew to speed up their search while he saw Luffys evolution. He didn't want to be the last one to find his island! Sabo had a much calmer reaction, though Sora knew he probably did the same after he hung up. They all competed with each other in every way they could, so it's only natural they wouldn't want to be the last one to evolve. The trio of Luffy, Ace and Sabo still refused to admit defeat to Sora.

The day quickly pa.s.sed and Sora returned to his castle. After informing Sugar and Evangeline, so they could make barriers; he headed to the castle courtyard. There, they found Luffy and his crew waiting for them. Sanji immediately tried to introduce himself to Sugar and Evangeline, but was sent flying back by Sora.

Sanji: "Who are you?!"

Sora: "Voi D. Sora, Luffy's brother, husband of all the women in this castle, your future brother-in-law."

Sanji: "Oh. Future brother-in-law?!"

Sora: "Yes, your sister, Reiju is very beautiful. Oi! Luffy! We'll wait until Ace and Sabo arrive!"

Sanii: "W"

Luffy: "Ok! I'll finally beat them! And after that, I'll beat you!"

At this moment another two voices entered the conversation.Ace and Sabo.

Both: "Not happening!!"

Sora: "Oh, hey guys. Ya'll ready for Luffy to evolve? Okay, so Luffy what's gonna happen now is you're gonna need to go to the center of the courtyard. Eva and Sugar will make some barriers then you'll begin to evolve to do that you'll need to absorb the core into your chest. Do you know what base form you want to become? Like I became a snake."

Luffy: "I want to be a dragon!"

Sora: "We have like 2 dragons already, dude. Plus, I don't think you'll be a threatening dragon at all. You're too much of a goofball."

Luffy: "What? So I can't be a dragon?"

Sora: "No, just become a monkey or something. It's already in you name."

Afterwards Sora picked Luffy up and tossed him to the center of the courtyard where barriers quickly formed around him. Sora quickly reported Luffy as a monkey in his base form and began the long wait for his evolution.

Inside the barriers, Luffy was unconscious after absorbing the Core. He also ended up in the white s.p.a.ce like Sora for his evolution. Upon seeing his base form was monkey and he couldn't change it, he shrugged. Afterwards he began to customize his new look. He gave himself his own set of wings retractable claws, plain red fur and a strong, long tail he could use a separate limb.

Three days pa.s.sed quickly as everyone waited for Luffy to break out of the barriers. During these three days Sora would exit daily to talk to Kalifa. He had also met Vivi, who was given a ring to enter the world by Zoro. Sora patted him on the back and thanked him. Afterwards, he began to flirt with Vivi, who was also curious about Luffy's evolution. She had duties, so she would have to leave periodically, though. Sora rushed to her whenever she returned. Monet also offered her a room in Soras castle which she gratefully accepted after some coaxing from Sora. He told her things like she could use it to stay some nights as a vacation or somewhere she could meet her friends, successfully convincing her.

Eventually, three days pa.s.sed and Luffy completed his evolution. Different from Sora, there was no pillar of blue light, instead he simply broke out of the barriers by punching through them and flying i to the sky. After Luffy was done presenting himself for a moment he lowered himself to the ground where others were. He was a skinny red chimp with wings.

He also now had a small star at the center of his eyes. This was the first evolution of his Gingan. It allowed excess meat consumed to become extra energy reserves stored in his eyes. Sora had to admit, this was very Luffy-like.

Sora busted out laughing at Luffy's plain look. He would probably have the lamest look of everyone.

Sora: "Sahahaha! Don't worry! You might be able to evolve and look cool later!"

Luffy: "It's your fault for not letting me be a dragon!"

Ace: "Luffy, I think this suits you! Hahaha!"

Sabo: "Right!! Hahaha!"
