After several hours had pa.s.sed, the governor of Bitter Falls city along with two other experts made an appearance and introduced themselves to everyone within the VIP area, including William and Leonardo. Though it seemed that the governor treated everyone equally, it was clear that he had a different tone towards Leonardo; that of sheer respect and awe.

"It seems that everyone who wanted to be attending today in the audience has arrived. So if you would excuse me, I need to give my speech and allow the audience to see all of the wonderful contestants of this tournament." he told Leonardo and nodded towards William before heading up to his own private area.

From there, the platform expanded in a machine-like way, causing the governor to appear within the middle of the coliseum and could be spotted by everyone attending. The crowd couldn't keep it together and everyone started cheering and clapping, including those situated in the VIP area.

I am sure that many of you are expecting quite a bit of excitement from attending, and so us organizers have decided to present the first and second rounds of the preliminaries in a more direct way to help showcase the talents who will be competing for glory."

Hearing the cheers from the crowd made Lance and the other students from Griffin Academy bodies shake from both anxiousness and excitement. It was clear that each spectator had their favorites to win, but these cheers symbolized what they were expecting to witness from each individual contestant.

However, this excitement Lance felt slowly faded away as he noticed three different individuals present around him. Their auras felt incredibly fierce to the point, where he felt that he was in danger even though it was clear that no one would hurt him or anyone else until the preliminaries began.

Before he could even think straight once more, another five individuals let out their own killing intent and aura in response to the other three making their presence known. A cold s.h.i.+ver ran down Lance's spine as he realized that it would be nearly impossible for him to even lift a finger against all eight of these experts.

Smiles appeared on the faces of several experts who were still situated within the VIP area. It took only but a moment, but every expert around them understood that there were indeed going to be several dark horses within the tournament this time, and it was still possible that other top tier experts partic.i.p.ating were still hiding their presence.

William felt that his head was hurting, because even if in the first round that elder who bet his entire fortune against his bottle of blood's students were to fail, at least one student from Griffin Academy would have to at least make it into the second round. If the first preliminary round was a complete stalemate, it would null their bet and neither side would win or lose. However, Leonardo who was looking for a new student, couldn't be happier as he started to pay attention to these individuals.

Suddenly, a large number of strange looking talismans appeared above the governor and the two experts behind him and slowly dropped down before reaching each and every contestant. "All of you please take good care of these talismans. If you are about to die and break them, it will teleport you back outside of the area that the first round will be taking place in. We have several experts standing by to intercept those of you who do this and we guarantee that you will live." one of the experts behind the governor of Bitter Falls city told them.

"I will be the judge of this first preliminary round, and I am expecting all of you to put on a good show for everyone present. You are after all not just representing Bitter Falls city, but the future of this region within our Sun Dynasty empire. Though I must say, compared to the reports I have read about the last tournament, it seems that the compet.i.tion taking place now, is a step above."
