Kira and Rei dashed towards the infirmary. Rei was constantly glancing at Kira, amused to see that this arrogant guy was obviously looking worried. It looks like you're actually starting to care for her now, Kira…

By the time they finally arrived at their destination, the school nurse who had just stepped out of the door was surprised to see the infamous young man that even teachers couldn't afford to offend.

"Kira, Rei, do you need something?" the nurse gently asked.

"We heard your announcement. Where is Zeri Kim? Is she alright?" Rei was the one who quickly asked and the nurse was surprised. She didn't think that these two were here for that girl.

"Ohh, so you are here for her. She's inside. She has a cold and was feverish this afternoon so I let her sleep here after giving her medicine since she didn't want to go home. But she's fine, her temperature went back to normal and she just needs more rest now."

After the nurse's explanation, Kira and Rei heaved a sigh of relief. Kira then entered the room while Rei was left with the nurse, asking for more information about Zeri's condition. After all, even if it was just Kira who the master ordered to take care of her, Rei, who was with them, also needed to do the same.

Inside the room, Kira was standing by the bedside, watching the sleeping girl on the bed. So you've been here the entire time while I was going nuts wondering where the h.e.l.l you went… sigh…

Kira's shoulders dropped and he carefully sat on the edge of the bed, not averting his gaze from her. She was sleeping so peacefully, like the cute little squirrel that she was. She looked so harmless, like a fragile gla.s.s doll. Anyone who saw her in this state would have never imagined that she was actually so strong, so d.a.m.n fast and an annoying glutton. Indeed, she was exactly the meaning of the saying, 'don't judge a book by its cover'.

After just looking at her for a while, Kira found himself brus.h.i.+ng the scattered strands of hair off her face. He halted for a moment but in the end, he continued what he was doing. The next second, he landed his palm on her forehead and when he confirmed that her temperature was indeed normal, he felt relieved.

When his eyes fell on the wall clock, Kira then decided to wake her up.

"Squirrel, wake up. It's time to go home. I'll send you off so get up now." Kira said but there was no response from the girl. When he remembered that this girl was also a sleeping log, his forefinger fell on her cheek and he started poking it. He started with just a light touch and then like a child getting amused with new toy he found, a smile carved on Kira's face as he continued poking Zeri's soft cheek a bit harder.

"Sleeping log, you're not really waking up? Do you want to play as the sleeping beauty? Do you want me to kiss you?" he continued and the girl suddenly moved but all she did was try and swat away the annoying finger poking her cheek before going back to sleep again, making Kira speechless. Tch! This stupid squirrel! Why did she have to be a sleeping log as well? Doesn't she know that she was so defenseless like this?!

"Wake up now or I will really kiss you." He started threatening her. When there was no response, Kira slammed his palm near her ear. His face was now above hers as he spoke one last time.

"I'm counting from 1 to 3 squirrel, if you don't wake up, I will ki-" Kira's words were cut short all of a sudden. It was because without any warning, the girl under him suddenly sat upright, as if she had just jolted awake from her nightmare.

The worse thing was that, the moment she did, her forehead b.u.mped on Kira's lips, hard.

"Ouch!!!" Kira quickly covered his lips with his hand while Zeri sat in a daze as she touched her forehead.

"You!! Why do you have to wake up like that?! Can't you at least wake up normally? Are you really a girl?!" Kira immediately complained loudly and the girl seemed to have finally noticed him.

She blinked at him for a while before her mouth opened. "Your lip is bleeding."
