Hua Zhendan moaned softly, then pushed Xuan Tianyi onto the bed. He straddled his boyfriend, leaned down as if to give him a kiss, then whispered in his ear, "Good thing your body doesn't hurt as much anymore. I can do what I want with you and not feel bad."

Despite the air conditioning in the room, two sweaty, naked bodies sat nestled in each other's arms on Hua Zhendan's bed.

"We should take our baths," Hua Zhendan suggested.

Xuan Tianyi nodded in agreement, but neither of them made any move to get up.

Hua Zhendan smiled because he had found that he loved it when Xuan Tianyi laughed like that. He would ask if Xuan Tianyi had enjoyed the s.e.x, but then, the other man's moans had being a clear indication that he had. At the risk of being redundant, he kept quiet.

"The wrist.w.a.tch I got you. I didn't get it for you because it was expensive. I know that's what you think. That I'm trying to buy your love. I got it for you because when I saw it, I thought it would look good on you. Admittedly, it's pricey but I really wanted to see you wearing it."

"Fine, I'll keep it."

"Really?" Xuan Tianyi disentangled himself from Hua Zhendan's arms again and wearing a smile, stared into his eyes.

"Yeah. But don't buy me something so expensive next time. Ill rather you got it for yourself instead." Hua Zhendan stole a small, quick kiss from Xuan Tianyi.

"Unless I like it for you, right?" Xuan Tianyi asked with a hopeful smile on his face.

Hua Zhendan smiled. "I guess that's a reasonable loophole."

Xuan Tianyi smiled again and nestled himself in Hua Zhendan's arms one more time.

"Can I ask about your family?"

"There's not much to tell. It's just my sister and me."

"Like, right from time?"

"Well, we had our grandmother but she pa.s.sed away when we were still kids. It was more like, she went out one day and didn't return. No one really knew what happened.

"Xuan Tianmei would go out, then come back with food. I guess she used to go out to beg. She's a lot more mature than I could ever be."

Hua Zhendan smiled. He was almost in love with Xuan Tianyi's sister. "She's the older twin, isn't she?"

"She is. And most times, I don't like that, but I pretty much don't have a choice."

"So, how did you and your sister get into the orphanage?"

"I think one of the neighbors called social service or something. One day, two people just showed up, put us in a car and took us to the orphanage."

"No one adopted you guys?"

"People did. But never together.

"Earlier, Xuan Tianmei and I vowed to never separate, so when someone adopted one of us, we always tried so hard to be bad kids so they'd bring us right back to the orphanage.

"At some point, the orphanage stopped trying to separate us because they knew that would never work. But no one wanted to adopt twins.

"At the age of 17, we were required to leave the orphanage. It was overdue anyway. We lived on the street for about two years, then we lived in a dorm. When we started doing literally any job we could find, we were able to afford an apartment around Pingjing, so we took that."

"The first day we met, you told me you finished from the University."

"It was a lie. I stopped at highschool. I was trying to pick you up. Was I supposed to tell you I don't have a university education?"

Hua Zhendan smiled.

"You don't mind it very much, do you?" Xuan Tianyi asked cautiously.

"I don't mind it at all. You had a difficult childhood. You deserve a break." Hua Zhendan kissed his head.

"To be honest with you, I didn't like college very much and would've dropped out after my first year. I mean, I already owned part of my mum's business when I turned 18. I didn't need it."

"Then why did you go?"

"At first, my mum wanted me to just try it out. She was the one who gave me the option to drop out after my first year if I didn't like it."

"And you still didn't like it?"

"No. Not at all."

"Why did you continue?"

"Qiu Dawei and I were already together and it was the only way I could be with him."

"Oh!" Xuan Tianyi's chest tightened at the mention of that name. He disentangled himself from Hua Zhendan once more. "Well, I'm sleepy. Aren't you?"

"Are you sleepy? Or jealous?"

"Very sleepy. I've got to be at the gym before 7 am tomorrow. Need to get up early." Xuan Tianyi lay down, with his back facing Hua Zhendan.

"Xuan Tianyi," Hua Zhendan called out to him.

"En?" he answered.

"Everybody has a past. Qiu Dawei is my past and I can't do anything about that. Right now, the only thing that matters is the present. You are my present and I am madly in love with you."

Xuan Tianyi turned around. It was the first time Hua Zhendan had openly confessed his love to him. With a big grin on his face, he replied. "I love you too."

Hua Zhendan chuckled at Xuan Tianyi's big smile. He leaned over and kissed him on the head again. "Let's go have our bath, you dirty thing."
