Loud footsteps echoed throughout the corridor as Eugene walked forward with his hands uncomfortably tugging at the collar of his expensive suit. The tired expression on his face closely resembled an office worker that had just finished working overtime. His tie was crumpled and his blonde hair was all over the place, anyone that knew him wouldn't have recognized him as the das.h.i.+ng fellow that he usually was. Eugene's entire aura was different than how it tended to be in public. Instead of his usual aloft and regal atmosphere, it was instead weary and depressing.

"Hah...these social events really are the end of me. Good thing white hair doesn't stand out among blonde hair, or else I would even have to dye it. I wish my dad was more like Mr. Mizuki. Just look at how good Boss has it.....she doesn't even have to walk outside."

Eugene muttered complaints to no one in particular while steadily striding down the elaborate and fancy hallway. Hearing another pair of footsteps, he quickly patted down his messy hair, straightened his tie, and smoothened out his outfit in a single breath. Wearing a bright smile and fixing his posture, he immediately changed his entire demeanor.

"Ahhhh! Mr. Eugene, so this is where you were! You're sooooo handsome, I'm a big fan! The party is about to start, I wanted to give you this as good luck!" A prissy-looking girl with thick makeup squealed while handing him a small package.

Eugene gently smiled in response.

"Thank you."

"You don't need it though, I just know that you'll do fabulously even without it! O. my. gosh. You're like a celebrity!"

The lady kept screeching while constantly throwing seductive glances towards him. Eugene listened to her silently and only said a few polite phrases back when questions were asked.

Right as his patience was reaching his limit, his personal phone loudly rang.

"I'm terribly sorry to interrupt, but this is an important call. We can talk later."

Eugene flashed his dazzling trademark smile at the girl and left her to take his call. Looking at his screen, he stared at the unfamiliar number with caution.

How did a stranger get access to his private number? He never gave it out to people he didn't know.

"h.e.l.lo? How did you get this number?"

"Yo, it's pretty easy since you're the one that kept spamming it into my private messages."

Eugene's face brightened up after hearing the familiar voice.

"...! If it isn't my favori-"

"Right. So come out here and give me the information. I don't have all night."

He chuckled and ran his hand through his hair.

"But you know, the deal was that you had to ATTEND the actual thing. Not just sit outside."

"Not my fault I can't get inside in the first place, you have c.r.a.ppy security."

A small frown appeared.

Hearing a small rustling sound on the other side, he immediately decided to fire the incompetent guard that dared turn his Boss away at the door.

"Fired. Get out."

He silently clicked is tongue in annoyance.

"Why are you still here?"

"....Yes, sir."

Eugene wouldn't allow people that spoke against his Boss to work under him. Unacceptable.

"You could have at least told him the reason."

"I don't have words to waste on people like him. To think he would reject you at the door.....!"

Still brewing in annoyance towards the guard, he realized that the girl had already hung-up on him.

Before he forgot, he saved her phone number and set her profile picture to a photo he had taken secretly earlier at school.

"Hehehe....Boss sure is different than the others."

He stared at her number for a while longer before pocketing his phone.
