This was the first time Gren had seen actual magic. He wished that he could use magic but he didn't have the time to start reading the books that he bought earlier. The ball of water didn't look like it would be useful in a fight but if he could use it he'd never have to worry about carrying water ever again. He would continue carrying water either way but it would be nice to have an unlimited supply.
Due to thinking about magic, Gren forgot the acolyte's words. "If you're not going to get undressed then we'll have to strip you ourselves." Three of the acolytes in white surrounded him, each taking their own side. There were three pairs of hands quickly undoing his clothes, carefully avoiding his injured foot. His socks and boots were already removed before he even woke up so they only needed to remove the bandages on his injured left foot. The last acolyte soaked a clean washcloth in the basin.
Gren was stripped naked by the girls and there was a small pause before the girls began to clean him off. They originally thought of Gren as just a kid but even when it was soft he was still larger than any of the men that they had seen. The acolytes made sure to wipe his body down thoroughly and the tallest one used a fresh cloth to gently wipe down his manhood. She could feel him getting hard in her hands, the throbbing veins pumping more and more blood into it. Gren was a bit disappointed when she let go.
"Sit down." The tallest acolyte was still the only one giving him commands. After Gren sat down the girls washed his feet, making sure to clean the wound of any infection. The stone chair felt cold on his b.u.t.t at first but his body temperature warmed it up. After his body was completely washed, the two smallest girls left the room. The two remaining girls stood to the side near where Jessica was waiting.
Gren's erection had already waned by the time a new woman entered the room. Instead of the white and blue outfits he was familiar with, this new woman was wearing green. He was able to figure out that she was the healer based on the painting he had seen earlier and the fact that a blue-robed girl used water magic.
"Greetings, child." Her voice matched her wrinkled hands; she sounded old. The old priestess approached Gren before getting startled by something. She shakily reached out to Gren's face and traced his cheeks and nose. "You're real. You've returned."
Gren expected to be embraced by a woman after what Jessica said but he didn't expect that woman to be so old. She just held on to him, crying and talking about how she always knew that the person she mistook Gren as would return. The acolytes tried to help remove her from Gren but were afraid of injuring her. Jessica stood at the side, thinking about something.
"Excuse me. May I ask one of you two to go get the leader of this branch? I would like to confirm something." Jessica finally spoke up. Gren could see that she was being very serious. The acolytes didn't know what to do so one of them ran off to find the head priestess. A healer acting out like this had never happened before now.
The old priestess continued venting her feelings towards Gren. After a while, Gren could no longer understand her words due to her crying so he just patted her on the back. He understood that she had been working hard based on the words that he had been able to hear between her sobs.
The acolyte came back with a different woman; this one wearing the white outfit but with gold trim on it. The high priestess inhaled sharply when she saw Gren's face. Jessica sighed when she noticed the high priestess's reaction, realizing that her earlier thoughts were likely accurate. "You are the high priestess, correct? Can we find a better place to speak?"
The high priestess nodded, still sidetracked by her thoughts. Jessica walked up to the healer that was still hugging Gren and grabbed her hand, placing it on Gren's d.i.c.k. "He's not who you think he is." The healer could tell that she had the wrong ident.i.ty when she looked down and saw a giant c.o.c.k in her hand. She let go and apologized for her mistake.
"Jessica, what's going on? What did you need to confirm?" Gren didn't like that they seemed to be talking about him and keeping secrets.
"You trusted me with your secret so I won't hide anything from you either. I just can't say it out loud in this place and I still haven't confirmed it." Gren decided to trust Jessica and wait. The healer finished her job and took the two acolytes with her. Gren wasn't paying attention to the healer so he didn't get to confirm if healing magic gave off a green glow.
Gren was now able to walk without a problem. His foot felt like it did before a giant rat put a hole in it. The head priestess led Gren and Jessica to her private quarters, explaining that they could talk freely there. Jessica sat down on the head priestess's bed and decided to watch Gren.
The high priestess closed the door and locked it before activating a magic device embedded in the wall. "Anything you say or do will stay in this room. n.o.body outside the room will be able to hear your words or see what you're doing." The high priestess touched Gren's face much like how the healer did. "What's your name?"
"Gren." Jessica answered for him. "His name is Gren." Jessica got up and hugged Gren from behind as if she was afraid that he would disappear from her sight if she let go of him. "Gren. You never told me what your mother looks like. Can you tell the two of us about her?"
Gren didn't know why they were bringing up his mother but didn't think that Jessica would harm him. "She had beautiful silver hair. A pale skin tone..."
"Green eyes. A nose and cheekbones that look identical to yours. Her chin and jaw are close to yours but slightly thinner." The high priestess continued describing his mother.
"Yes! Did you know her? Can you tell me her name?" Gren didn't expect to find one of his mother's acquaintances in a place like this. Hopefully this woman knew his mother's name so that he could at least build a shrine to her.
"There's something I want to show you first." The head priestess walked over to a part of her wall that was covered by curtains. The curtains were pulled away and beneath them was a portrait of a pregnant woman.
Jessica released Gren from her hold and he walked up to the painting. The woman in the painting was wearing the familiar white robe that he had seen many times already. However, her head and face were left bare. Her cheeks were fuller and she seemed healthier than she did in his memories but this was undoubtedly his mother.
Gren felt like his brain stopped working. He kept trying to explain to himself why the head priestess had a painting of his mother but he could only come to a single crazy conclusion. His thoughts kept going there but he had to deny it. There's no way that his mother was a G.o.ddess.
