Thousand Years Promise 1 Chapter 1 Nightmare

Grasping out for air, her lungs and legs burned as she ran down the dark alley. Her long hair sticking to her forehead and back as the cold rain fell down heavily. Heavy footsteps echoed not far behind her making her heart quicken with fear. Her eyes widening with desperation fear as her salty tears mixed with the rain hitting her face. Her torn clothes sticking to her body as a red stain spread on her shoulder.

"Please." She muttered helplessly as she quickened her pace turning down a corner quickly. Seeing a small s.p.a.ce between the dumpsters and cartons of boxes she rushed forward hiding behind the boxes. Sobbing she pressed her hands against her chest as she hears the sound of the footsteps stop close to where she was. Her own body trembled almost in pain from all the fear that swirled within her body.

"Where did she go?" A male voice asked their bodies standing so close to her hiding spot she feared they could hear her breath.

"Find her, she couldn't have gotten far in this rain." A deeper sounding voice spoke out, his own voice void from any emotions. Shrinking back she gasped out short breathes as they turned their flashlights on searching the place around her.

"She's not here." The first voice spoke out once again after what seemed like a torturing eternity to her. Hearing the footsteps grow distance from her spot she let out a small breath in relief. Her own body growing light as she felt herself grasping a bit of hope. Just as that hope came it went away like a quick pa.s.sing breeze as a flashlight hit the small crack between the boxes she was hiding behind. Gasping out wide eyes her heart felt as if it was spiked with thorns as she met the cold void eyes of the reaper himself. As the cold eyes seem to stare keep into her soul trapping her body in an invisible chain the boxes she once hid behind were kicked away. Her body trembling in fear like a caught deer as he stared at the cold man towering over her. His cold gaze staring back down at her, his thoughts seeming so well hidden she could not know what destiny he laid ahead for her.
