Legacy Of Forgotten Times 129 No Dream

"Hey" Linri was pulled out of his thoughts by a sudden greeting. He closed his interface to see a blond beauty with cat ears looking at him curiously. She was Chesa, a catgirl from a mystical island of cat people and his mentor's, Elvario's, third character.

"Hey?" Linri answered listlessly. He was puzzled. He did not really interact with her in the club days and he definitely did not interact with him in here. Normally, he would chalk it up to his looks that can put even the most handsome man to shame but he knew it definitely was not the case this time. Why you ask? It was because Chesa was into girls. Especially into cute little girls like Brie but she wouldn't mind the occasional huge-chested beauty too. I mean she herself had huge bazookas so yeah.

"Why do you smell so weird?" Linri raised his brows. He had taken a shower this morning so what was she talking about. Just to be safe he made a smell check and yeah even if he didn't smell as pretty as roses he still smelled minty fresh.

"I think I smell normal? Why did you ask?" She had piqued his interest so Linri did not mind humouring her despite being pretty down. Maybe her crazy antics could lift his spirits up.

"I don't know? Normally humans smell disgusting but you aren't. However, I can't say I like your smell either. So what are you? Are you a lizard just like that guy?" Chesa said while pointing at Drake. Good thing he wasn't around to hear it as he was pretty sure that lunatic would start a fight. For dragons being called a lizard was even more offensive than insulting their mothers.

"Oh, it was that" Linri sighed. He had really thought it was something interesting but it just turned out to be her smelling his bloodlines.

"So so what are you?" 

"A sc.u.mbag?"

"No not that! So what are you?" Linri made a casual joke but she didn't even rebut him! Did he really look that much of a bad guy? I mean yeah, he looked pretty bad during the ceremony but it shouldn't be that bad, right? RIGHT!?

"Chesa you are a cat right? I am the opposite" He decided to mess with her a little.

"So you are a dog?" Chesa replied with disgust. Wasn't it supposed to be a myth that cats hated dogs?

"No, I am not a dog try again"

"A mouse?" She replied while drolling. Okay, that was both funny and scary. What? Was she going to eat him if he was part mouse?

"Bzzt! You are getting colder" Chesa thought long and hard. Linri could swear that he could see smoke rising from her head but eventually, she gave up.

"So so what are you? Don't play mind games with me! Tell it in simpler words"

"I am a Woxen" Chesa tilted her head.

"What's that?" 

"An anthropomorphic version of a wox. Just like how a fox is a Kitsune"

"What's a wox?" She asked again. Linri was amused by how gullible she was. It really felt good to be surrounded by idiots. Maybe he can find some more idiots to vent his frustrations whenever he gets angry. That seemed plausible. They were dumb so they wouldn't mind.

"It is when a fox and a wolf crossbreeds" Chesa still seemed confused

"What's a crossbreed?"

"It's when two animals really really like each other despite being different animals. Like Romeo and Juliet"

"So they die?" The work was about star-crossed lovers being separated by outsiders and this was what she remembered? That they died. Okay they did but it was so much more than okay! 

"What? No!" Okay. He had to admit. At this point, he really wasn't messing with her but she was just too dumb to understand what he was saying. 

"Then what do they do?"

"They make babies. A fox and a wolf's baby is called a wox and that's what I am, get it?" Chesa looked like she understood.

"Then where are your ears and a tail?" Chesa said while pointing at her own ears and tail. She couldn't understand why an antro-thingumabob like him didn't have those. 

"They, they didn't appear yet. I still haven't hit p.u.b.erty but look. See, my teeth are growing larger so they should come soon enough" Linri showed her his own teeth which didn't really look like they belong to humans. He didn't want to admit but they were growing sharper. There was one occasion that he accidentally bit his own tongue and it felt like he separated a chunk. Maybe it was his imagination but it certainly felt like it. He wondered if tongues can grow back.

"Pfft" Chesa smiled smugly. She was covering her smile with one hand. That irritated Linri. Just what did this idiot found so funny? Although the fact that her lips made a :3 shape when she smiled looked cute. But that was not the point!

"What?"

"So you are still a kid?" Linri was taken back.

"Excuse me?"

"You said you still didn't hit p.u.b.erty right? So that makes you a kid!"

"Technically yes but-" Chesa sat next to him and put her arm around his shoulder.

"Don't worry. From now on I am your big sister and will teach you everything. These despicable humans won't be able to bully you. I will teach you the ways of the world so they won't take advantage of you"

"If you can listen to me for a minute-" Chesa put her finger on Linri's lips.

"Shhh, no need to say thanks. I was once a kid too so I know the struggle" 

"Yeah but-"

"Shhh, I know you are grateful and want to pay me back but there is no need"

*Ring*

The bell rang and including Chesa everyone returned to their seats. Linri was dazed. What did just happen? Did she just arbitrarily declare that she was his big sister? WTF!! For one he was always an only child and that didn't change when he was Max or Linri. Secondly, he was always the one bossing others around so if anyone was going to be the big sibling it should be him! 

Linri rubbed his arm. On the other hand, her b.o.o.bs felt nice though.

Linri raised his head from the desk. He was feeling groggy. Still, it was a nice sleep, for some reason he hadn't visited the dream world this time. Now that was weird. He couldn't even remember the last time taht happened. He had even asked Lozna and Solas to make it stop but they said it had nothing to do with them and it was Udcek's doing. Did the G.o.d of death suddenly go soft on him? Unlikely. So what was the reason? He didn't know. It was best to talk with the Togk G.o.ds about this. Udcek might be coming sooner than he expected.

Linri tried to establish his connection to the G.o.ds but he wasn't able to.

Wait, what!?

That never happened before. It shouldn't even have happened in the first place. Aside from another G.o.d or a divine object, nothing should be able to interfere with their connection. He started to panic for real now. 

He looked around, he was in the cla.s.sroom but there wasn't anyone around. It was still sunny outside but it was kinda dim. He looked outside the window to see that the sun was just rising. Another mystery. He never would have slept here in the cla.s.sroom. It was mostly because of his nightmares and he was afraid of embarra.s.sing himself by suddenly shouting. Okay, let's disregard that for a minute. So what if he slept here yesterday during cla.s.s? Then someone would have woken him up. Even if the other students wouldn't he was sure that Kris and Brie wouldn't let him sleep here. Actually scratch that Brie might have let him sleep here as an act of revenge since he 'forgot' about her in the first day but that still didn't change the fact that Kris would have woken him up.

Something was wrong but he couldn't tell what it was. When he tried to think about yesterday it was fuzzy. He couldn't remember anything. Okay, think Linri! Think! What can this mean? Was it an enemy attack? No. There was still time until The Game event and even if it came early, there wasn't such an instance in it. Maybe because he had changed the timeline he had also changed the way the event was supposed to go? No, that still didn't feel quite right.

There was something he was missing but he couldn't tell what it was. Linri started to inspect the cla.s.sroom. Maybe there was something here that could give him a clue. He looked at the desks but there was nothing special about them. They had the personal belongings of the other students and they were clean. It indicated that they were in use pretty recently. So he could scratch off time skip from his list of things. Don't ask him why it was there in the first place, it was something that could happen in this world. 

He looked at the board but it was the same. However, there was one interesting thing. It still showed the date of yesterday. Then again it might be because the cla.s.ses haven't started for the day yet. Linri checked his phone. It showed that it was 6 am. He heaved a sigh of relief.

Maybe he was overthinking things. Anyway, everything should clear up when he goes to the dormitory. Linri picked up his bag and left the cla.s.sroom while yawning. Thinking about what might cause his connection to the G.o.ds being cut off. Actually, that might be the reason why Udcek wasn't able to invade his dreams yesterday.

Then again that didn't change the fact that there was something bugging him in the back of his head. Like there was something wrong and he couldn't get rid of the feeling.

"Kyaaaaaaaaah!!!!" Linri heard a familiar scream.
