Consequences.

Every action one took resulted in consequences. It might be something good or something bad but there was always a consequence. However, Linri didn't think that the consequence this time wouldn't be this bad.

He had only wanted to get lucky and the result? Well, his guardian beast almost died and he wasted more than half his prana so he wouldn't be able to partic.i.p.ate in the next fight. f.u.c.king great!

I mean was it really such a bad thing to want to have a lucky encounter? Yeah, sure. He didn't deny the fact that wanting to see Silfy get naked was something sc.u.mmy. After all, he would be taking advantage of her when she was vulnerable. But did it warrant this much of a consequence?

He felt like this was unfair to him. What was wrong with just having fun? Did it have to always turn into a great life and death fight? Was the world really so unfair? Of course, it was! No two souls were born equally.

Some people were born with golden spoons in their mouth and didn't have to so much as a sweat to get anything they wanted. But there were also people who were born into the dumps of society and just getting through that day alive was already a great accomplishment for them.

Then what about him? He was born into a family that wasn't too rich or too poor. He didn't do anything wrong and just lived his life like an average person in every imaginable way. Even though they were fake he had friends. Even though he didn't love her he had a fiancé. Even though he didn't see any future in it he had a diploma and possibly a job.

So why was it that he was thrown into this world? Just because he wanted to escape the reality of his mediocrity and play a dumb make-believe game? Just because he was an edgy teenager who tortured his own character because it made it cooler? Why? This didn't make any sense.

How could just playing a game would result in this consequence? What kind of a twisted mind can even imagine that? He was sure that even in the light novels he read there wasn't such an absurd idea.

"Lil bro!" A blond comet dashed into Linri while he was trying to rationalize his attempt at peeking Silfy's naked body.

Before you ask yes. All that self-pitying was just him trying to justify his actions. Trying to justify that he had earned the right to peek at a naked woman. He was good at manipulating people so obviously he was an expert at manipulating his own thoughts so that he wouldn't feel any guilt.

"You finally got your ears and... tails?" said Chesa while touching his ears.

"Stop that," said Linri and slapped Chesa's hands. Ugh, his ears were sensitive and he didn't like people touching them. It felt weird and somewhat uncomfortable.

"What? are you too good to let your own big sis pat your head now that you became an adult?"

Linri rolled his eyes before answering.

"When did I ever let you pat my head?" Honestly, there weren't a lot of people he couldn't handle having a conversation with. Unfortunately, Chesa was one of those select few who could throw him off.

"Hm? Are you telling me that you will defy your big sis?" said Chesa while looking directly into his eyes.

"Yes," said Linri and stared back.

"..."

"..."

"..."

"..."

"..."

"... Stop looking at me like that!" said Linri. He was feeling extremely uncomfortable due to Chesa's stare.

"Like what?" Chesa kept looking at him.

"Stop undressing me with your eyes!" said Linri. If this was how a woman felt whenever someone looked at her with l.u.s.t, he was really sorry for them. Heck, he might even become a feminist to protect their rights. No one should suffer like this!

"Hm? Did I do anything of the sort?" Chesa played dumb and kept staring at him.

Linri was feeling like ants were walking all over his body. WTF was going on!? She shouldn't have any ability so this was just pure mental pressure. Then why did he feel like that? It was not bragging or anything but he was sure that he had a pretty high mental strength.

If he were to give an example he could only think of one. Actually, this might really sound familiar to you if you have a sibling close to your age. Do you know when your sibling brings their finger so close to your face and then keep it there? Like they were about to poke you but instead, don't and just keep the finger there extremely close to your face? Even though you asked them to stop doing that they would be all like; what? I didn't do anything!

The end result? You would call your parents to make them stop. The problem was Chesa and Linri weren't real siblings and Linri didn't have any parent that he could call! Well, not yet anyway. Arkady should be coming in a couple of days once The False G.o.d event was over.

Honestly, Linri was really excited to meet with Arkady's guardian beast. Maybe he could even ask Arkady's opinion about how to better raise Wox?

Linri pulled back into reality when Chesa moved closer. She was still staring at him. f.u.c.k!!!!!!

"What's it gonna take to stop you?" Linri asked in a defeated manner. The only way he could see himself coming out of this was; beat the s.h.i.+t out of Chesa which was out of the question, b- run away which was also out of the question since he wasn't sure if he could outrun her or lastly c- just give in for now and live to fight another day...

"Petting your ears!" said Chesa in a victorious manner.

"No way! Absolutely not! Over my dead body!" Linri denied that suggestion vehemently.

"Too bad! That's the only thing I want. Don't worry I know it's your first time so I will be gentle"

You will be what!!? Ugh, since I can't seem to defeat her in a battle of words how about using fire to fight fire with fire?

"Fine but only if you let me pet yours first," said Linri smugly. He was sure that-

"Okay!"

-Chesa wouldn't agree... f.u.c.k!

"Hold on! Hold on! Are you sure you want me to do what? I mean isn't your ears sensitive and stuff?" Linri tried to think of a way to escape this predicament.

Chesa just shrugged.

"Who knows? No one dared to touch my ears before" said Chesa.

"THEN WHY IN THE UNHOLY NAME OF h.e.l.l ARE YOU LETTING ME TOUCH THEM!!????" Linri couldn't hold it in anymore and just shouted at Chesa. She wasn't bothered by this.

"Well, it sounded like a fair deal. I get to pet your ears while you get to pet mine" she said.

"*Breathes in* That wasn't my point" Linri said while trying to calm himself down.

"I don't care what your point was. Just let me pet'em cute ears already!" said Chesa. She was also getting annoyed by how Linri was so defensive about that. She just wanted to pet him not eat him alive, geez.

"This... How about I pet your ears first?" Linri said trying to delay the inevitable.

"Yeah, sure! Go ahead!" said Chesa and showed him her head. Linri could see her brown cat like ears twitching excitedly. This was a new experience for her and she wanted to see how it would feel. I mean normal cats always liked it when you scratched behind their ears so it should be fun right?

Linri on the other hand was stumped. What was he supposed to do now? He had a cat back in his own world but they never got along. Linri was a dog person and he never liked that cat. The cat seemed like it was also aware of this so it didn't like him either. Whenever he tried to pet it, the cat would hiss and scratch him with its little paws. 

Dogs on the other hand was amazing. Even if you treated them worse than thrash they would still follow behind you loyally. You didn't need to work hard to please them, they would work hard to please you. Total opposite of the cats. Why did even egyptians wors.h.i.+pped them as G.o.ds? They must have been out of their G.o.dd.a.m.n minds!

"Oi, don't keep me waiting. My neck is starting to hurt" said Chesa.

Right! Of course they would hurt! Just look at the size of those giant bazookas, it's even a wonder that you can stand up straight.

"Fi-fine" said Linri while fumbling over his words. He reached out his hand and pinched Chesa's ear.

"OW! I tould you to pet them not pierce them" said Chesa while rubbing her ear in pain.

Linri felt like the ear was soft and somewhat thin. If he applied pressure it shouldn't be that hard to just make a giant hole in it.

"So-sorry. Let me try again" Linri said. He was actually getting interested in this... OH MY G.o.d! Was he slowly becoming a furry? No way right? That couldn't be true!

"Okay but becareful this time" said Chesa before bowing her head again.

Linri cleared his mind and sealed any dangerous thoughts he had at this moment. He slowly reached out his hand and touched her ear. This time he didn't pinch and just stroke it. Uwaaaaaa, it was so soft!

He stroked it couple more times and it was trully fun! But this was not enough. He wanted to see if she would really purr like a cat if he were to scratch behind her ears. Of course he was a man of action so he put his words into real action and started to scratch her ears.

"Uuuuuuu" Chesa made a weird sound which made Linri promptly stop.

"Are you okay? Did I hurt you again?"

"KEEP GOING!" Chesa shouted at Linri without Lifting her head. He was scared s.h.i.+tless.

"Geez, okay! No need to get so angry about it" said Linri as he kept on scratching behind her ears.

He could see Chesa's tail bend in all sorts of shapes. Did that mean she felt good? Who knows? He certainly wasn't a cat expert!

*Purrrrrrrrrr*

IT WAS HERE!!!!!

The fabled catgirl purring had finally arrived. He didn't even know if she could really do that but hearing this sound was enough to give him satisfaction. Is that how cat owners felt like? No wonder they wors.h.i.+pped those arrogant b.a.s.t.a.r.ds.

Seeing her purr like that Linri started to scratch even harder.

*Pant* *Pant*

Chesa was panting for air but Linri didn't seem to hear it. He was sure that she would just tell him he hurt her. I mean she wasn't the type to suffer quietly that was for sure.

Linri was suddenly surprised when Chesa's legs gave in and fell on top of him.

"Hey! Hey! Are you okay? What happened?"

"I- I am okay *Pant* just need to catch my breath for *Pant* a second" said Chesa as she laid in Linri's arms.

He found this scene extremely familiar. She was flushed and gasping for air. There was no way right?... f.u.c.k! There was no way in h.e.l.l that he was letting anyone touching his ears. No way! It was better to just die than suffer a humiliation like this. 

Also it was better to feign ignorance on this subject. As Linri was thinking that he suddenly had an ingenius idea!

"No you are not okay! You are flushed and probably have high body heat! Let's go inside the infirmary" said Linri as he took Chesa into a princess carry.

Before letting her say anything to change his mind he barged in through the door.

"Nurse! Nurse! Help! She suddenly fainted! I don't know what happened! She might be sick" Linri shouted so that everyone would hear him. Oh man! Even he was afraid of how evil he could be sometimes. But it certainly felt good to have revenge. It was akin to getting high!

The nurses in the school was already used to injured people barging through the door today so they had people waiting at the entrance with a sick bed. Linri put Chesa on the bed.

"What happened?" One of the nurses asked.

Chesa was covering her flushed face and couldn't say anything.

"I don't know. I was scratching behind her ears when she suddenly started panting and her legs gave in. Seeing her flushed face I thought she must be sick so I brought her here" said Linri. He tried to sound as concerned as he could. He was loud enough that everyone near here would hear what he said.

The nurses frowned and looked at each other. They had a pretty obvious guess as they knew animal folk's ears were sensitive but they couldn't rule out sickness either. Also if it really was that they couldn't say it loudly and hurt this lady's pride. The boy seemed innocent and unware of what he was doing. Too bad for him as this lady was definitely going to create h.e.l.l afterwards.

"It's okay we will take it from here" said one of the nurses and pushed Linri out of the door. It really was dangerous for him to stay here. The girl might just bash his head in because of the scene he just caused.

Linri stopped his façade once he was outside the infirmary again. No one messes with him... well, actually a lot of people messed with him. Even so no one could mess with him and get away scot-free... again there were a lot of people who actually got away scot-free. Ahem, no one could mess with him and get away scot-free if he had an opportunity to get revenge. Yeah this sounded right.

As Linri was revelling in his victory he wasn't aware that the sun was setting behind him. It was almost time for Leon's attack once again.
