Luke, Hayato and other mercenaries were having a discussion about what to do. Ever since they met at the Albion Empire they had become a tightly knit group.

First of all, it wasn't easy for a child to be a mercenary. Most of them would die on the battlefields early.

Secondly, all of them had abilities and general knowledge concerning supernatural but they weren't exactly in that circle.

After all, there were countless strong people out there and they weren't even strong enough to be in the outer circle yet so after meeting for the first time in the Autumnfall they decided to hang out together.

"I don't think we should get involved" said Six.

Honestly, the mercenaries had trouble with him. At first they had thought he was Hayato's twin brother but then they explained he was actually Hayato's clone. It was a little hard to take in.

They could somewhat accept it if he was created through magic but Six was a result of a science experiment. Who is to say that the government wouldn't clone them too if they got their hands on them.

"But don't you think we could be useful? Most of the kids here never saw bloodshed before. They will die without even understanding how they died" said Lance.

"I agree as well but Lance no need to use flowery words. I know that you only want to beautiful ladies right?" said Selim cheekily.

"Maybe?" said Lance awkwardly while scratching the back of his head.

"I think we should just let them be. If they die its their own fault. Have you forgotten the first rule of being a mercenary? Always look out for yourself because no one else will" said Leslie.

She was right. There were countless stronger people than them in this school. So why should they risk their lives to save strangers. Especially when there wasn't any benefits.

"What about you Luke? What do you think we should do?" asked Hayato.

Luke had a troubled expression. He honestly didn't know what to do. He didn't want to see other people die but he didn't want to risk his life for strangers.

His parents had already lost a child before and he didn't want to die while trying to be a hero. Mercenary work was fine. He was getting paid and he would plan the details to meticulously so that he wouldn't be any danger that he wouldn't be able to handle.

"I don't care. I will just follow whatever decision the group decides" said Luke.

In the end he decided to let things take its course. In the end it should be fine to follow whatever they decide right?

At moments like this Luke wished Linri was here. They hadn't interacted much but he could see it from his eyes. He had the ability to pry into other people's most inner thoughts. It was like he had the ability to read other people's minds.

That was why Luke always thought he was suited to be a leader. There were different interpretations of how a leader should be and Luke's was like this. A leader should have the ability to give the right job to the right person.

Linri was suited for this task. Sine he could read other people's hearts he could see what job would suit them. He was the ideal leader in Luke's mind. He was cruel, arrogant, selfish and heartless. Basically the perfect leader.

He wouldn't be merciful towards but allies and enemies. He always knew what to do so you only had to follow him and enjoy the ride. He wouldn't make bad decisions due to sentimental reasons.

Some people say a leader should be forgiving, kind and caring. What a load of bulls.h.i.+t! They were just ideals from some books they had read. The people who said that didn't even see what a real battlefield was like so how could they know what a leader should be like.

A person like that at best would be suited to lead charity organisations. Can you even imagine a politician like that? He would become a puppet in no time.

Unfortunately, Linri himself didn't seem to be aware of his own gift. Maybe he was ware of it but just didn't want to be responsible for others. From what Luke observed Linri seemed to prefer solitude.

He had a couple of friends he interacted but that was about it. He didn't belong into any groups and he didn't seem to be part of one either. From his perspective mercenaries didn't even seem to be his friends. They were just his employees and that was about it.

Actually, Luke had just heard from someone he was finally back at school and was confronting the attacker. Maybe he should have said yes after all?

"Rather than joining the fight what if we observe from the sidelines?" said Hayato after thinking about it for a while.

"Observe?" Selim asked.

"Yes, we won't actively join the fight but if we see someone in danger we can help them out. That way we would gain their debt of grat.i.tude and might use that for a quick cash" Hayato explained.

"I don't like it. Haven't you already heard about the casualties? Just by being in the vicinity we might be implicated. I don't want to risk my life for a bunch of strangers so I am not going" said Leslie while shaking her head from side to side.

"Don't be like that it will be fun!" said Selim.

"Easy for you to say! We can't pa.s.s through matter like you!" Leslie said furiously.

Honestly she couldn't understand Selim's death seeking behaviour. Did he always have to look for a fight whenever he had the chance?

*Boom*

Suddenly the group heard a loud noise. Then the ground started to tremble. Did something big just drop to the ground? What was going on?

As they were discussing the sound hey had heard the door to their room suddenly opened. A figure in a sleeveless purple hoodie barged in there.

"I need your help" he said.

They didn't even know who this person was and he was saying he needed their help? What in the world?

"Jin? What's going on?" Lance asked. He was a third year and Jin was his cla.s.smate so he obviously recognised him.

"I found a way to defeat Leon but I can't do it alone" he said again.
