The husband and wife called in sick for their jobs, much to their respective bosses' dismay and relief.
Zhou Lei and Zhou Zhenya were used to eating breakfast either by themselves or with each other. It was only a rare occurrence that their parents were to join them for this morning meal.
Zhou Zhenya looked at her parents skeptically as she slurped her noodles. She could not believe that the two supermodels in front of her were her parents.
Meanwhile, Zhou Lei lowered his head in shame. He forgot that he upgraded his parents' appearances on impulse the other night. What else did he upgrade then...?
As the children ate their food, the couples' plates remained untouched. Both of them flirted with each other, their love renewed.
The two, being average looking people previously, did not base their love on the shaky foundation of appearance. Right now, it was just icing on the cake.
"...Mom, dad, can you eat now?" Zhou Lei could not stand his parents' incessant giggling anymore.
Hearing her son, Zhou Xiang suddenly had a thought. '...How did I get this disease? I'm sure it's transmitted... "that" way, so how did I get infected?'
"Hmm..." Zhou Xiang redirected her gaze from her husband as she shot piercing stares at her son.
'He... he was the only one who could've given me this disease!
Wait a second, Jiahao could have easily given it to me either... as long as he did it with her!'
Zhou Lei felt a weight come off his shoulder as he sighed in relief, in contrast to his sister, who s.h.i.+vered in fear, avoiding her mother's stare.
Not daring to raise her head, Zhou Zhenya continued sipping the tasteless broth.
Zhou Xiang decided to drop the matter for the tine being. After all, she was unsure if this was even a disease, much less if it was transferred "that" way. She would rather a scientist come to a conclusion about this situation than her.
For now, she hugged Zhou Jiahao, humming happily.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm hugging you, obviously~"
"You should stop. We're at the table, you know..." Despite his words, Zhou Jiahao showed no signs of resistance, a wide grin appearing on his face.
Zhou Lei raised his head ever so slightly, and what he saw made him want to get a girlfriend.
d.a.m.n it, I want a girlfriend!
He was choking to death. Being force fed dog food by his parents was indeed an unpleasant experience, and he wanted none of it.
His mouth sped up with its chewing to finish eating and bail as soon as possible.
As he did that, Zhou Zhenya stood up and brought her bowl full of soup to the sink. While walking there, she glanced at the bowl, and her eyebrows creased.
Of course, not wanting to finish her food was just an excuse she made for herself. The real intention she had was to escape from seeing her parents flirt. Yuck, kissing and hugging?
"Wait," Zhou Lei whispered to his sister, "don't leave me here!"
Zhou Zhenya shook her head as a smile appeared across her face.
"No, stop right there! Stop!" He reached out his hand to try and grab Zhou Zhenya, but to no avail.
Seeing his ally abandon him made Zhou Lei all the more uncomfortable.
Wait, can I do the same thing as her?
Zhou Lei moved his legs slowly, not daring to make a sound. He did not want to catch the attention of his parents.
When his legs exited the underside of the table, he stood up and grabbed his plate.
"Lei!"
Hearing his mother, Zhou Lei twitched.
"Finish your food."
Finish your food, my a.s.s! You haven't even glanced at yours yet!
Wanting to cry inside, Zhou Lei sat back down and ate, enduring all the dog food he was being forcefully fed.
