On a quiet night the Duncan family was driving down a bridge.They were singing along to mariah carey.But then 11 year old Emma sees a flash of red.The next thing she knows the car is in the river.Everyone screams looking for a way out.Emma struggled with the door trying to get out but she remembers the video she watched of how to get out of a car.The water is pressurized on the outside so the smartest way to get out is the window!"GUYS!Roll down the windows and get out!"She grabbed her sister and made it out.She woke up ten minutes later next to her sister.She looks around."Where is mom and dad?"She thinks to herself.Then she sees her mother emerge from the water."Mom where is dad?I can't find him."Her mom burst into tears."Your dad is gone."She says sobbing after each word."He can't be gone mom.HE CAN'T BE GONE."Just then sirens are coming closer and closer.While Emma and her mom are hugging each other and crying.But when the police get there they put her mom in cuffs. "W-what? No! Stop! Leave my mom alone!" I screamed, clawing at the police to get them to let go. A police pulled me off of the officer holding my mom.
"We need to take her down to the police station and sign her in."As the officer was reading her mother her rights."You have the right to remain silent.Anything you say or do will be used against in a court of law."Emily just started to wake up."Where's mom and dad."Emma look at her twin sister.How the h.e.l.l is she going to tell her."They are gone.They won't be coming back."She looked straight into her eyes as hers started to become watery."W-what do you mean.They wouldn't leave us."Emily says in disbelief."IT CAN'T BE TRUE."Emma hugs her sister.They stay there until the police takes them to the station.They had to enter the foster system.They got separated around 15.They still keep in touch but it's not the same.Emily got adopted by millionaire Gilbert James.While Emma stayed with me.
Present Day
The reason I'm so protective is because I don't want her to go through that again.She doesn't deserve it.Just then I heard a scream.I call for backup and the captain says stay put.Not happening.I start making my way inside.I am not leaving my sister alone.
