Surprisingly Athena chose to be there when the news was delivered. Anastacia saw her and walked up to her, and curtsied, "My sincerest condolences. This isn't just me saying it. Knowing Annixon he probably regrets it as well. Thank you for coming to us and giving us this news. We have only one request. Could you take us to where he is resting?"
For some reason, Athena felt like she was talking to a real n.o.ble. Not the arrogant b.a.s.t.a.r.ds she came to loathe. The only reason she accepted this contract in the first place was money. It was one h.e.l.l of a payday. A total of five thousand Ducats. That was the amount for an S-cla.s.s request. The last time she did one she was able to buy her armor and the axe, and have it custom made. The money was good, but the glory was better.
Glory she found that day was empty if you couldn't share it. She lost her comrades, her friends because of it. She is done with being an adventurer. Will probably open up a school to train newcomers.
They went to the back and saw a pretty ornate carriage.
Athena sighed, "So you are n.o.bility. You have that air about you."
"True, I was n.o.bility, but believe it or not. Thanks to Annixon's resistant display against the baron's son, we got a bunch of free stuff. Annixon didn't take it all too well though. His rule of we has to work and earn what we need."
They climbed into the Carriage. Sinah took the rains after the horses were in position. It was a bit of a tight squeeze. Athena scowled, "The man seems too good to be true. He is probably just trying to get into your pants."
"Haha, we wish. He treats us more like his daughters than anything else."
"I reiterate. He is too good to be true."
Naitra sighed and stopped Maania from punching her, as well as spoke up, "It's true what you say. He does it all for bettering his own future. He wants to live life the way he used to. He wants to get credit where credit is due. He doesn't want a corrupt lifestyle. He used to say it's more fun to work for something that had rules than just to be given something, but if you aren't recognized then it becomes frustrating. Like a game."
"Sounds like an adventure more than anything else. I could show him a few pointers with the ax."
The group smiled, usually, they would burst out laughing but Annixon wasn't there with them, and his life was endangered.

The rest of the trip was ridden in silence.
They arrived at the Apothecary in due time.
The entire group saw the apothecary standing at the door.
Their hearts, Athena's as well sank.
Naitra was the first to speak to the apothecary, there was a moment of silence before she spoke, "I take it…the worst has come to pa.s.s."
"He lost too much blood. I am sorry."
Athena burst through the group and grabbed the man by his robes and smashed him against the wall, "YOU f.u.c.kING a.s.sHOLE!!! DID YOU EVEN TRY!? GET THE f.u.c.k BACK IN THERE AND SAVE HIM! BECAUSE THAT MAN SAVED EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOUR a.s.sES AND DEATH IS HOW YOU REPAY HIM!!!"
She was about to punch the man when Sinah intercepted him. That was when Athena truly broke down, "It all my fault! He is dead because of me. He could have run and I could have fallen! This town would have been safe if he still lived! Aaaauhg!!!"
Sinah tried comforting her, but the more she wailed the more she cried. Anastacia fell to the ground onto her knees, broken. Just staring at the ground. Maania was busy crying into her grandmother. Naitra did the same with Maania. Amara isolated herself in the carriage. A person couldn't hear a peep from her
Juliza cussed previously and said more to herself than anyone else, "You promised me. You promised me you will teach me. You lied. You broke your promise…you lied…you lied." She fell to her knees and sobbed uncontrollably, "I don't belong anywhere now…"
D'verg happens to be close by. He sighed at the sight. He still had to tell the little one that was with him. He walked up to them. He at least gave him something to help protect this city, "I will handle the funeral arrangements. I know the feeling of losing someone special. Just be ready in two days."
He made his way towards Annixon's final resting place.
Anastacia stopped him with tears still in her eyes, "No, I will go with you. I want to see him…at least one last time."
He placed his hand on her head, "No, kid. You will remain here. He isn't in a state to be seen by you girls. Even I had a hard time seeing him like that. Just spread the word about what he did for this city."
She was trying really hard to hold her tears back, "Please…I just want to see him one last time…Please."
"Kid, you think you have it bad now…you will break like a twig if you see him now. I don't want you to see him like that. He wouldn't want it either. Just…just let it go kid."
Sinah showed up behind them, with a tear-stricken face, "Aren't you being a bit harsh."
He sighed at that statement, "I will let you in on a bit of wisdom. Some people who really try to become a hero in this day and age will be cut down in their prime. We must just be thankful that he saved the city with his last breath, but you girls need to take up the mantle now. Realize his dream. Heck, I will even help."
Two days later they all arrived at the memorial service. A shocking amount of people showed up. The girls said their final good bye's as Annixon was lowered into the ground. Even long after the funeral the girls all remained, and mourned for the loss of everyone that day.
Anastacia punched the ground in front of his grave, "Why do you always have to play the hero when n.o.body asks for it. We just wanted you to be you, and you left us. I will miss you…We all will miss you. My precious, darling champion. I will never forget your crazy antics and that brilliant mind."
She started to cry more, as Sinah continued, "This won't be goodbye forever. We will see you again in the afterlife. I promise your legacy won't be forgotten and we will continue the fight."
