"Elizabeth, sit down." Her father's stern but gentle voice can be heard as he sat on the olive green European style armchair near the small fireplace. Her mother is sitting on the chair beside her father, her lips pursed together tightly while holding her hands together.
He harrumphed before starting. "Precious, we have to tell you the truth right now. We've been so attached to you that we were silently hoping for this day to never come. My precious, you are not our daughter. We were given the task by our leaders to take care of a child more than a decade ago. We never had a child of our own so we gladly took you in and treated you as if you were our own. I know that this is going to be hard for you to take in but before your coming of age ceremony comes we have to bring you back to your real family." He lightly patted the back of his wife to console her as she silently cries about what's going to happen.
She was dumbstruck. Her mouth still gaping in shock of what her parents, no scratch that, what her foster parents told her.
'No no no no... this is not real. Dad, is this some kind of joke? If this is some kind of joke you're taking it too far." She said as her head shakes in denial of what she's been told.
Still in denial, she ran out of the study while trying to wipe the tears that are falling down. She slammed the door to her room and dove under the covers. Bawling her eyes out like there's no tomorrow. She felt a sharp pain in her heart that made her gasp. 'Pain, pain, so painful.'
A painful scream can be heard from her bedroom. Two people ran furiously to get into her room only to see her body contorting in pain.
"Call them now!" he said as her mother fumbled for the phone and tried to call them.
Everyone's heart feels like it's being p.r.i.c.ked with tiny needles seeing her body contorting in pain, red tears flowing out from her eyes and scratches on her chest.
A few minutes felt like hours while waiting for them to come and stabilize her body.
Two people in black flitted to her room, one of them immediately took out a syringe filled with red liquid and injected it into her body. The spasms stopped and her body relaxed but the b.l.o.o.d.y tears are still falling down.
"This is what's gonna happen to her continuously if she's still not confined within the palace walls before her coming of age ceremony." The man who injected the serum told them firmly and pursed his lips.
"She's not gonna be in pain anymore for the next forty-eight hours. We need to make sure she's there before the effects of the serum fades." The second man in black told them with fangs bared.
They held each others hand and nodded. "Enn.. We'll start preparing once she wakes up."
A few hours later...
It feels as if her body's been rammed by a ten wheeler truck. She painfully sat up and tried to look around. Her parents are on the couch sitting and was staring into s.p.a.ce. She called out to them with a hoa.r.s.e voice. They looked at her with a sad face, stood up and walked towards her bed.
"Elizabeth, we're so sorry but we can't spend more time with you anymore. It's for your own good, we don't want this same thing to happen again." Her father said while trying to sit on the edge of her bed.
"What do you mean they're taking me back? Who are they?" questions kept pouring out of her mouth.
"Your real family, the hidden royalty of Country R."
"When do I go?" She asked glumly.
"As soon as possible before the effects of the serum wears off" He answered with a grim face.
Her mother tried to hold her hands while asking her how she's feeling.
"En... I am alright."
