Harris looks slightly concerned as he asks "Hunting? Is that what you do when you... make things go poof?" I smile at him and say "Yes, Harris. That's what I do to make things go 'poof'. It's still early enough so I'm gonna go change and try a few of the spots tonight."

Harris nods his head with excitement and quickly says "I'll call in a crew and have them on you for backup." I come to a stop and frown as I say "No, I work alone. You go back to your office and I'll call you after."

This time Harris frowns as he says "Absolutely not! You're a witch, remember!? They're killing witches! I'm not allowing you to go alone." I stare into his baby blue eyes and quickly realize that I'm not going to win this argument.

I look up to the clock and sigh as I say "Fine but just you. If you call your crew, you'll scare these people or person away. You can keep an eye on me from a distance. I'm tougher than your average witch, Harris. I'll be fine. It's you I'm worried about."

He's not happy about it but he agrees and starts making phone calls as I walk upstairs to change. Once I was dressed, I walk downstairs and grab my keys. We both agree to try downtown so after a ten-minute ride, we park on a busy street and get out.

"This is too crowded... I'm gonna start walking the more quiet streets." I say locking my car and walking away. Harries quickly catches up and says "Where's your weapon?" I look over with a smirk and say "Stay hidden, Harris. I am the weapon."

Harris stumbles to a stop before letting out a soft curse and walking away. My smirk grows as I slowly walk through the crowded street. After a few more minutes, I start walking down a street with only a few people walking around.

Maybe I need to go somewhere else... where they aren't any people. But wouldn't that be odd? I sigh in irritation when ten minutes turns into forty-five minutes of walking. Maybe I'm going about this all wrong... Suddenly, I sense another witch.

I slowly turn to the left to see her walking out of a bar. I keep my eyes on her and slowly follow her from behind. When she turns down another street, I pick up my pace and come around the corner to see her walking down a small empty ally.

Hasn't she heard about all the killings? Why is she walking down an empty ally at... I quickly check my watch, eleven thirty-five at night!? I frown and keep my senses sharp as I silently follow her from behind.

Suddenly, the hair on the back of my neck starts to stand straight up, instantly telling me that someone or something was here. They weren't just hunting the witch in front of me, they were now hunting me as well. Good.

I keep my pace, not wanting them to know that I know they're here but when I feel the s.h.i.+ft in the air, I leap into action. I quickly run towards the witch in front of me to block her when she suddenly turns around and hits me with a potion of some kind.

I sputter but don't stop. I knock her into the wall as something large and black slices through the air behind us! She looks at me with shock before quickly looking over my shoulder to the thing behind me with fear. I shove her and say "Run!" as I turn and us my magic to strike the dark thing.

Only, I hit it with a bunch of flowers... what? The dark hooded figure jumps back but then looks down at all the flowers with just as much confusion as me. The potion... what potion did she hit me with!? I try to hit the large hooded figure again but this time cotton b.a.l.l.s. .h.i.t him.

"s.h.i.+t..." I say when suddenly I hear Harris yell "Duck!" I instantly hit the ground as Harris opens fire! The large hooded figure dodges with ease and tries to attack Harris. I take off running after it and yell "Look out!"

I jump and lift both feet up to hit this thing in the back as hard as I can but it suddenly disappears at the last second! I suddenly see Harris's large baby blue eyes widen in shock as he tries to lift his hands to block his face but it'll be too late... I don't want to kill the human so I do the only thing I can think of... I open my legs.

I cringe as my crotch hits him right in the face and to my surprise, he catches me before falling back. We land hard and my knees scream out in pain but I try to ignore it as I quickly get up and turn to face the dark hooded figure.

"He's gone..." I say breathing hard and slumping against the wall. Harris groans and slowly sits up, holding his b.l.o.o.d.y nose with watering eyes. I flinch and sheepishly say "Sorry it was either that or my boots..."

Suddenly, peels of laughter have both of us looking to the entrance of the ally. A large s.h.i.+fter holds his stomach as he struggles to breathe but when I see Xander come running around the corner, I feel myself rolling my eyes.

"Of course..." I mutter as I walk over to help Harris up. Xander smacks the other s.h.i.+fter and asks "What's so d.a.m.n funny?" The other s.h.i.+fter struggles to stop laughing as he says "She just gave the cop a smackdown with her... her.... crotch!! I can't... I really can't!!! Bwahaha!!"

Harris and I both glare at the laughing s.h.i.+fter as Xander's eyes flash with confusion and anger. "If you don't shut up, I'll shut you up." I say moving closer. The s.h.i.+fter stops for a second and says "By throwing flowers at me!?" He says before nearly falling over from laughter.

I lift my hand and hit him with my magic before Xander can stop me. Xander quickly grabs my wrist and lowers it as he says "I will handle him." But when we all suddenly hear a loud fart, we all turn to look at the s.h.i.+fter.

He was no longer laughing as a large bubble suddenly comes out of his b.u.t.t. "What... what did you just do?" He asks, suddenly sober. He takes a step to me holding his stomach and starts farting some more. Each time he farts, bubbles fly out.

This time I'm laughing as the s.h.i.+fter starts panicking. Harris' eyes twinkle with humor as he holds his b.l.o.o.d.y nose. Xander struggles to keep a straight face as he says "Jace, go back." The s.h.i.+fter named Jace suddenly looks like he wants to kill me as he demands "Make it stop!"
