Hidden Hallows 28 Hide And Seek

I try to ignore the incoming storm as I look around my dark surroundings but I still can't see or hear anything. I look up and see that that the roof above me is high enough for me to stand so after checking all around me, I slowly stand and watch my step.

If I'm not careful, I'll fall right through the ceiling. There are paths made up here for service and maintenance so if I stay on them, I'll be fine. I snap my fingers and try to summon up a small flame but all I get are a few flickers.

I start slowly walking further in but when I see something move off to my left, I freeze. I carefully scan everything but because it's so dark, it's almost impossible for me to make anything out. If it weren't for my s.h.i.+fter sight, I wouldn't be able to see anything at all.

I suddenly hear a sc.r.a.ping noise to my right so I quickly turn to my right but just like before, nothing's there. It's playing with me... when I hear something behind me, I bring my blade up and swing as I turn but I cut through nothing but air.

Thunder rolls again, closer and louder as the first drops of rain begin to fall. The roof was now snapping and popping from the wind from the storm outside, making even harder to hear. "Come out, come out, wherever you are..." I say in a singsong voice as I continue walking.

I hear laughter but it echos around the attic-like s.p.a.ce and with the storm outside, I can't pinpoint where it's coming from. So it's not a Zombie... "Why are you attacking the police station?" I ask looking around me with sharp eyes.

Another round of laughter as it says "I made a mistake... I was following a scent but I later found out that it was the wrong person. I was angry and the b.i.t.c.hes behind the counter wouldn't shut up... I then decided to have a little fun."

Its voice is raspy and wet sounding... extremely unpleasant to hear. It made a mistake? Who was it after? I continue to slowly walk while scanning around me as I say "Now you've made an even bigger mistake. Now I'm here."

Laughter bursts out as thunder hits, nearly drowning out the laughter as it says "A bigger mistake? No no no... Everything is right now." Suddenly, it lunges straight at me! I dodge to the side and hit it with a gla.s.s marble.

It screeches in anger and swipes at the liquid acid eating away at its skin as I attack it from the side. I bring my blade down and smile viciously when the blade sinks into its back. It turns around so quickly that I can barely keep track of it with my eyes!

It backhands me and I go flying across the attic. I hit several wooden support beams and go straight through them until I roll to a stop. The ceiling below me gives way and the lower half of my body falls through the ceiling.

I hang on with gritted teeth and look up to see it running on all fours, straight for me! It's another possession! "Eris!!!" I hear Harris yell my name from below but I ignore him and reach into my pocket to grab another gla.s.s marble.

As soon as it reaches for my face, I throw my last three marbles in its face and let go. As I fall, the demon possed man comes cras.h.i.+ng through the ceiling right behind me. Harris and the other two in the cell start yelling and screaming as the demon screeches in pain.

When I hit the ground below, I quickly roll out of the way, just seconds before the demon lands hard on the ground. It thrashes back and forth in pain as I struggle to get out of the way and stand. When Harris goes to unlock the cell, I quickly put my hand up and say "Not yet!"

I see Harris' eyes grow large a split second before I'm tackled hard! The demon rams me into the cell as it screams in my face by its mangled mouth. Its mouth hangs on by a little bit of skin left on its jaw and neck but with just a little tug, the thing would come clean off.

Black blood shoots out all over my chin and neck as it says "I was sent to kill you, b.i.t.c.h and that's what I'll do!!" Because this isn't its real body, the voice isn't affected by not having a working jaw or tongue but what he says has me pausing.

Sent to kill me? Why? By who?? It keeps me pinned against the cell with one hand and lifts the other to dig out my heart. I grab its right hand with both of mine and struggle to hold it back as Harris suddenly starts shooting it in the face from behind me.

I'm gonna be deaf by the end of this!!! The bullets don't seem to affect it at all as it continues to struggle against me. I hate possessions and demons!!! "Who sent you!?" I ask through gritted teeth as more of the ceiling above us begins to fall.

It snarls at me and tries to snap its teeth at me but all he manages to do is jiggle his bottom jaw a little. Demons are strong but when they possess a human? They become almost impossible to kill! It suddenly pulls me away from the cell before slamming me back into it.

I growl slips out from me and I pray that Harris and the others don't hear it. "Who. Sent. You. Demon!!?" I yell as the ceiling above us completely collapses. Cold rain comes falling through the hole as Harris and the other cops try to keep the demon from slamming me against the cell over and over again but they're no match against the strength of a demon.

Harris and the others try to hold onto my s.h.i.+rt but as the demon pulls me back again, my s.h.i.+rt rips! My eyes begin to glow and my teeth begin to elongate as I glare at the demon before me and he's momentarily surprised.

"So this is why..." He says with a burst of chilling laughter. The lightning from the storm lights up the whole room, basking him in a hideous light with half his face melted/blown off. "I will rip your heart out and dine on it in front of these humans. Letting them enjoy the show before I eat them too!"

He slams me back into the cell, causing me to grunt in pain as the bars begin to bend. Harris and the others look at us with shock and horror as I try to use my magic again. My hands wrapped around his right wrist start to glow as my eyes burn brighter but his hand keeps getting closer and closer!
