Complex Romance 40 Separate Ways

"So are you willing to be my girlfriend?"

"Harry, I can't answer you that..."

After seeing the sudden change in Teresa's tone, Harry quickly said, "I told you already, I don't mind if we stay as friends. I just want you to be happy, that's all. So, please don't be pressured or sorry."

"I don't feel pressured at all. I just don't know if we should be together or not... I like you too but..."

"But what? Just tell me, you don't have to worry and keep everything to yourself."

"But we will be going our separate ways... I'm going overseas and you might be going to City C for further studies once our final results are out. We will be away from each other. I would rather not start this relations.h.i.+p than to be separated later on when we go for our further studies. I don't want to go through the pain..."

Just the thought of being away from her family, friends and him made her have the urge to cry. She didn't want to leave them but for her future, this is the choice that she had to make. It was like what Jane had said, 'This is life.' Everyone needs to go their separate ways.

Harry was shocked about what Teresa had just said, he never thought of that before, he didn't care about what was going to happen later on in life, all he cared about was what was going to happen now.

Thinking about what she said, Harry patted Teresa's head and replied, "I know how you feel, so no worries. How about let's stay as friends, good friends."

Teresa raised her head as she looked at Harry into his eyes. Her eyes were red, tears were about to flow down. She grabbed onto his sleeve and said, "Thank you... Thank you for understanding..."

"Come on, I told you not to be pressured, I said all I want is for you to be happy. So why are you crying now."

"I'm not... crying..."

"Then what are you doing, what's with the tears?"

Seeing her cry made his heart ache. He wanted to hug her but he was scared that it was inappropriate. So, he just sat beside her and accompanied her in silence.

After about 20 minutes, it was already 11.00pm. Jane asked Zoey, William and Bob to stop playing and go back as it was already very late. After that she went and approached Teresa and Harry.

"Guys, it's already very late. We should go back."

"Okay. Let's go Teresa. Don't think too much about it. Let's enjoy this trip till our heart's content."

"Umm." Teresa replied as she nodded her head.

She felt so much better. She didn't feel burdened and was happy that Harry really liked her. The only thing that she was unhappy about was the thought of leaving all these amazing friends.

"Promise me one more thing, don't think about the future during the remaining time of trip. Let's just think about what we have now and enjoy it, okay?" Asked Harry.

"Okay, I promise."

After hearing what Harry had said, Teresa thought to herself, "That's right, I should just enjoy the time I have with them and not think about anything bad that will spoil my mood. I just need to appreciate what I have at the moment and leave to future to the future me."

On the next day, the six of them visited the zoo and went to the amus.e.m.e.nt park. They enjoyed every second they had as they played till their heart's content.

Teresa had never had this much fun with her friends before, so she knew that this would be an unforgettable trip for her. She even took short videos of them playing together.

In the evening, they went to the beach to play. Jane didn't want to go in the water as her clothes would be soaked wet. However, with the present so Zoey and Bob, they pulled Jane into the water. Jane was angry but what could she do as she had childish and naughty friends.

During sunset, they took a group photo at the beach. The view was magnificent, it was so pretty. In that photo the sky had a brilliantly red and orange colour where the six of them were standing and posing by the beach. That specific photo had become a very precious memory to them.
