She checked her laptop and found a message written on her desktop.
'What's your favorite number'
Alyssa was dumbfounded.
Then she realized the message was not sent through an email or something else. But somebody has hacked her laptop.
'Not again' she thought.
She pulled her laptop towards her and sat straight in concentration. She then typed different codes on her laptop but she couldn't go through the other person's defense system.
After doing the same thing for 3-4 times she realized that she couldn't hack through the opponent's system.
She was upset.
She looked at her side to find Noah sleeping on his table with his mouth open. She felt slightly relieved that he had not seen her embarra.s.sing herself.
She thought that maybe she could hack her opponent's system if that person comes online.
She thought very hard on the reply, a reply that can intrigue him in sending another text.
So she wrote 'ZERO'.
Soon there was a link sent to her. She clicked the link to find herself in a chatroom.
Knowing that the person is online, she started hacking. But the results were the same. She couldn't break the defense system.
Then she got another message, 'NO USE'.
She felt like killing someone. She balled her fist in anger and after flexing her muscles, she again started hacking the system.
Then she received another message. 'PERSISTENT'.' 'GOOD'.
Alyssa was infuriated. Ignoring the thought of hacking his system once again, she furiously wrote, 'WHAT DO YOU WANT'.
Then the reply came, 'I HAVE A JOB FOR YOU'.
'NOT AVAILABLE' after typing this she exited from the chat room and closed her laptop.
Then she woke Noah up.
"Hey! I have to go home" wake up. She said while shaking him.
Noah woke with a stat. "You can't leave me here all alone." He said.
Alyssa raised one of her eyebrows in question.
Noah scratched his neck, feeling wronged he said, "You can't live me here in this 'cemetery'. What if 'Palace Guards' arrest me or worse one these people ghosts attacked me at night."
Alyssa was in no mood to handle a child or use any of her brain cells for the time being. She explained, "Guards will not attack us. Have faith in me. And about ghosts, these are just for some memorials. These cra.s.sest doesn't contain any dead bodies."
Alyssa knew that she was lying and she felt guilty about it. But she doesn't have any choice. She can't take him home with her. Even with the masking lotion, other werewolves will recognize an unfamiliar scent among them. Both of them will be in trouble because of it. And beside this place, she couldn't think of any safe place.
When she saw Noah visibly relax, her guilt reduces a bit.
It was getting dark. Alyssa hurriedly went to her quarter. she saw her whole room upside down after entering her quarter. She sighed. These bullies were getting on her nerves. She arranged her bedsheet and her bedding and picked her books thrown across the room and placed it neatly beside her bedding.
She picked a few books and put them in her bag for tomorrow's school.
Alyssa felt surreal going to school. These two days felt like months to her. She had achieved so much in just these two months. She felt proud of herself. Thinking about her next moves and establishment of her company, Alyssa went in her slumber.
"Girl you are glowing." Alyssa reached her school and she was standing at the threshold of the school's building when Dianna put her hands across Alyssa's shoulder and pulled her close to her to examine her face.
"Da*n you are really glowing." Dianna once again repeated.
Alyssa removed Dianna's hands from her shoulder and replied, "Good morning to you too my friend."
"Now you are being sarcastic. Where is my sweet Aly-Belly and what have you done to her." Dianna exclaimed in mock horror.
Alyssa ignored her and rolled her eyes. She heard a mock gasp from behind her.
"Drama queen". Alyssa murmured under her breath.
They met Jacob, Marcus, and Kale near Alyssa's locker. Unlike other days, Marcus didn't kiss Dianna's lips. He just casually said 'Hi' to her just like her other friends. Alyssa felt odd because it was very much 'unlike' Marcus. She knew how much he loved her and they were practically inseparable. Always sticking to each other like glue. Shortly after his arrival, his cell phone rang with message notification and he left without even glancing towards them.
Alyssa looked at Dianna, her glance full of questions. Dianna shrugged her shoulders and said, "Champions.h.i.+p stress maybe."
Marcus was the leader of their school's football club. And their match was just four days away. Alyssa thought this reason acceptable but couldn't drive an uneasy feeling from her heart.
They were having lunch in the school cafeteria. Everyone was sitting on their respective tables just like Alyssa's group. Everyone in Alyssa's group were present except Marcus. Alyssa looked towards Dianna. She was eating her noodles and laughing at Kale's jokes. Alyssa knew Dianna was not feeling alright. It was just that she was hiding it better than the others.
was just that she was hiding it better than the others.
"Do you know who will come as a chairman in our graduation ceremony?" Dianna asked looking at her mobile. When she got no response, she looked at her friends' faces. Seeing that both of her friends had no clue about this news, she excitedly told them, "Its Prince Reinhard. Oh! My G.o.d, I can't believe I will get my graduation certificate from him and can look at him this closely." Alyssa scoffed. She had met his arrogant brother and she can guess how arrogant the crown prince can get. She has no interest to meet a man like him.
They were gossiping about their graduation ceremony when Marcus arrived in the cafeteria. Alyssa noticed his clothes and his hairs a bit disheveled. He was running his hands on his hair trying to fix it. Alyssa looked toward Dianna.
Seeing Marcus entering the cafeteria, Dianna stood up from her seat and waved toward him. Marcus totally ignored her and went towards 'the popular table' and sat with them. Dianna felt confused and humiliated. Tears pooled in her eyes. Alyssa grabbed her hands to make her sit with her. She consoled Dianna by rubbing her back gently, at the same time she looked towards Marcus with a frown.
