"Our family has served the G.o.ds for generations. It is our divine duty to be the servants of the G.o.ds" A man says to him.
"Really father?" a younger version of Lesker says with wide eyes.
"Yes son. It is our honor to cater to their every needs without them needing us to. They have helped us and we live to serve them"
"Alright father. When I grow up, I want to be just like you. I want to study the G.o.ds"
"I think it's better to just serve them than study them. I don't think they'll be comfortable with that honey" A woman says from behind him.
"Aw why not mother?"
"I can't say Les. Maybe one day you'll understand. Now, come help me prepare dinner"
"Okay mother" He replies happily.
There is a knock on the door of their house. It is already night time so they wonder who it is. Lesker's father goes to open the door since he's strongest of all of them and he immediately bows to greet whosoever is there.
"My lord. It's an honor to have you here. What brings you to this humble servant's home?"
"I just came for a visit. Can I come in?"
"Of course my lord. Please make yourself comfortable"
Lesker pokes his head into the living room to see their visitor. It was a tall man wearing monk clothes and his eyes were closed.
"Don't stare honey, it's rude. That's Burmi, the G.o.d your father is serving"
"That is so amazing. Who are you serving mother?"
"Loidu, the G.o.ddess of water"
His mother hands him a pitcher and she carries a tray of their finest meals to serve the G.o.d. She goes on her knees as she serves him the food and water from the pitcher she held.
"Please accept my humble offering. I hope it's to your liking" she says.
"It is fine" Burmi accepts the food. The house is quite silent and Lesker just hids behind his mother's skirt. His father, despite serving under Burmi, wasn't a monk and for the reason that the servants of the G.o.ds needed to reproduce, they didn't undergo celibacy.
"Is that your son? Such a lovely boy. Come here little one" Burmi calls to Lesker. For some reason, he feels unsettled, but encouragement from his parents pushes him to go and meet the G.o.d. Burmi takes his hand and pa.s.ses a bit of magix through his body.
For the first time since Burmi arrived at their house, his eyes opened.
"I must say Yoni, your son has such a great apt.i.tude for magix"
"Is that so? Thank the cosmos then" Lesker's father says with a huge smile.
"He could come train with me in the temple as from tomorrow. It is about time I take new disciples"
"Really? Thank you my lord. It's such an honor"
Burmi got up and left their house. While his parents were overwhelmed with joy, Lesker couldn't help the fear that went through him. He wanted to tell his parents about how unsettled he felt but he was just a child, they would never believe him.

My eye lids feel like lead. I try unsuccessfully for long to try to open them. After such a troubling night and a much more troublesome dream, I really wanted to open my eyes. After a few more tries, my eyes open and I see a familiar ceiling. I was back in the room I was placed when I got here.
There are marks on my skin but they're starting to heal.
Yoni, Burmi called him. That should've been my father's name. I really didn't remember what happened to me before I was taken to the monastry, despite being almost seven years old.
I feel something glowing on my chest and it's the purple flame necklace Anak gifted me. Holding it in my hands, I smiled. My eyelids grew heavy again and I fell asleep.
"Lesker"
"Anak? Is that you?"
"Yes. I was looking for a way to connect to you without Muni spying on us. You're in the G.o.d dimension, hun? s.h.i.+tty place"
"I haven't seen it but it sounds as if I have lived here before. I'm getting memories, those I'm not sure belong to me"
"That must be one of the purposes of the purple flame necklace. It would seem like some of your memories were removed but this is restoring it. Your hair looked a bit familiar to me so I gave you the necklace just to make sure. Have you heard of the Ruyio tribe?"
"Yes. In the texts I read, they were said to be the servants of the G.o.ds. They dedicated their generations to serving the G.o.ds but for some reason rebelled and got annihilated"
"You are correct. Do you know why they rebelled?"
"The texts didn't mention that"
"It is the same reason why I hide in the mortal world. It was because a certain servant found out the atrocities of the G.o.ds and turned the others against them. I fought on the side of the servants and made sure the majority of them were safely transported to the mortal world. Now, I'm seen as a traitor by my people because of the carefully woven lies of the G.o.ds.
The leader of the rebellion and the man that lost his son to Burmi's attrocities, was named Yoni"
"When did this rebellion happen?"
"Not too long ago. I think about seventeen years ago. Why?"
"But the texts say they were destroyed over a thousand years ago. Many people don't even know about the existence of this tribe"
"You should really stop believing those texts of yours"
"My father's name was Yoni. I saw that in the dream I just had. I don't even know what to believe"
"I can tell you who to believe in. The same woman who despite all odds, still wants to fight against the G.o.ds; Kohra"
