I purchased my ticket at sat next to a frail old man. It wasnt an enjoyable journey since he fell asleep and started snoring so loud the woman pus.h.i.+ng the lunch trolley walked straight through our carraige clearly avoiding the noise and I'm sure everyone was relieved when the journey came to an end.
I pushed my way through the crowds, when I finally got into a more quieter s.p.a.ce I seemed to have forgotten which way was North! I asked as many people as I could if they knew but they either shrugged or ignored me. I shut my eyes tightly and tried to will myself back home where I was never lost. Then suddenly a gust of wind picked up pus.h.i.+ng everyone around, it blew open a window showing the evening sun, then I remembered Grandmama telling me the sun always sets in the West.
With renewed courage I set off again North, hoping the wind would continue to guide me.
30 Minutes had past and I found myself walking into a huge metal gate, "May I help you?" Asked a familliar voice coming from the speaker, "No," I mumbled then the gate opened.
I walked up to the door and what looked like a butler opened it, "The master wishes to see you Miss Zhao," He muttered. How did he know my name? I was just about to argue when he signalled to the lounge. Then I saw the man who had helped me standing uncomfortably in the middle of the room, I knew who he was! He was the man I was supposed to marry!
"You followed me." He said looking me straight in the eye, "I-I did not," I stammered.
"Then why are you here?"
"Th-the wind took me here."
"And do you know why the wind took you here Miss Zhao?"
"No" I mumbled he sighed and said, "because it knows what we both have to do in order to keep our reputations Miss Zhao."
So I agreed though neither of us wanted to- or at least I thought he didnt... I'm saying this because that night, when he thought I was asleep he crept into my room and kissed me on the forehead. I saw a tear roll down his cheek then he left.
