Quickly masking my presence as I hid away in the bushes close to the Angus their prey.

Something unexpected revealed itself, what I saw didn't feel right... a shadow?

Did the shadow just move?

Quickly I snapped out of my confusion realizing there should be others, able to manipulate the darkness and shadows around them as slowly but steadily a figure revealed itself from the shadows.

As it was all dressed in black it was unclear what I was looking at, giving off some oddly,

yet mysterious vibes. Slowly it crept towards the salad package...

I felt like it hadn't noticed my presence yet, meaning I thankfully had hidden quickly enough.

As I held my breath I kept on observing the ent.i.ty...

Finally, it had reached the prey, unaware of what was inside I held my breath in antic.i.p.ation.

But when it stood there, motionless at the side of what seemed to have been the prey...

the shaded adversarial shrouded and mysterious figure revealed what looked like an arm.

Smooth yet dark... There was only one thought that came to mind...

As I hoped it would reveal its appearance...

I in turn tried to back up a little, as the mysterious figure slowly circled the prey like a vulture...

I felt my heartbeat rise as it slowly revealed its hand,

similar to that of a human is revealed to have five fingers. The mysterious figure revealed a small dagger as it began to peel away the leaves that had a cover-up of the prey of the previously slaughtered Savage Angus. Antic.i.p.ating its grand reveal I took another step backward as it was now showing its back to me.

A perfect opportunity to strike represented itself to me,

as the window popped up asking me if I wanted to do so. Flat out, denying the option I swiped away the window. Only to step onto a twig by accident...

I swallowed my heart as at that moment the adrenaline shot through me,

making it feel like a block of granite fell through the core of my being, pinning me in place...

At the same time, the mysterious figure heard the snapping twig and turned around quickly in an alarming state. Just as swiftly and careful as the reveal of the knife I noticed something blinding my sight in that small moment.

As a small flash of light blinded my vision I did not know what had transpired at that moment,

quickly I came to regret not knowing what had happened as the knife, swiftly but without a sound, it graced my cheek as drops of blood formed where the knife pa.s.sed through.

As fear for being discovered had taken over my body,

I was unable to move... I kept trying to as my life depended on it, but couldn't as I was frozen in place.

The hooded figure stared at the bush it had thrown its dagger towards and expected something to jump out... As I expected to have been found out suddenly a frog jumped past my legs outside of the bush.

Making it seem like it had been inside the bush for a while, as it saw the mysteriously hooded figure it filled its cheeks with the air becoming just a tad bigger.

The cheeks then lid up making its presence unable to overlook. We both sighed at the same time thinking it wasn't much of a thread. The hooded figure then proceeded to recover the prey which was covered with leaves.

Thankful I wasn't found out and curious what they prey of the Savage Angus could have been I inched around the area trying to make as little sound as possible. When I finally got a clear view of what lay there in the middle of the pile of leaves, what I saw baffled me as a small humanoid baby lay there motionless in the pile of leaves.

As I was unable to see any appearances of the mysterious hooded, I figured I had to keep quiet and observe... the humanoid baby had some distinct characteristics, such as the same skin tone as the mysterious figure... but what intrigued me the most were its pointy ears.

The baby had short white hair and as it slowly awoke to the presence of the mysterious figure it felt like there was a moment of bonding.

The baby appeared to be naked which in turn made it quite obvious that it was indeed a boy.

Slowly the baby boy opened its eyes as it felt safe in the presence of the hooded figure. Revealing eyes as white as snow with a faint hint of greenish-blue in and around the iris.

As it was unknown what would happen next.

I kept watching, waiting in antic.i.p.ation for whichever could follow. The hooded figure gently lowered its body as it reached out to lift the baby.

Overjoyed the baby began to giggle and reached out to the hooded figure.

Followed by speech I did not understand.

"Garrett, ni have finally me found tye. Oh have ni ósanwe. Ni was ana late."

Thankfully Eve localized the dialect, language, and speech patterns which almost instantly allowed her to translate what had been told.

As she finished in mere second and registered the language it now instantly turned in something I did understand.

"Garrett, I have finally found you... oh have I thought... I was too late... thank the G.o.ds for sparing your life!"

As soon as the hooded figure was done talking to the baby it powered its hood, revealing a dark-skinned woman with identical white hair and pointy ears,

both in which were way longer than the babies.

In that instant, I could see that even their eyes were similar making me think that the hooded figure could have been family.

As the female gently picked up the baby it began to happily babble, they both quickly moved away. I wanted to make an effort to follow them...

Wanting to know if the little guy was okay and also wanting to find out more about the mysteriously dark-skinned humanoids from this unknown world.

Quickly I asked Eve about what we had seen inside my head as I wanted to tail after the hooded female.

"Eve, I don't know if there is enough information about this world in your database as you were originally made by one of the G.o.ds of the universe, but either way I would like you to a.n.a.lyse what we have seen and come up with a possible outcome."

Before Eve could react I quickly got jumped from behind, making lose track of the hooded woman...

"d.a.m.nit! Who jumps me at a time like this?!"

I asked quickly finding out who it was that had jumped me. Haruka had returned as it seemed she took the opportunity to jump me as I hadn't noticed her approaching me.

"Master! Haruka has scouted the area and returned to report!"

Unable to move I got frustrated as I had other things on my mind when quickly I realized Haruka was back.

"Haruka! Wait... Haruka? You're back?!"

The worry I felt for losing track of her when we had arrived quickly got replaced by relief.

As Haruka sat on top of me I was unable to move, and because of my relief,

I tightly hugged her as the relieved feeling made way for happiness.

Jokingly Haruka reacted to the situation.

"Master... I didn't know you were so happy to see me.

Weren't you trying to track those who have shortly left our sight?"

Her reaction got to me, making me embarra.s.sed...

Eve then popped up giving me the information I had requested.

"Master, eve has found a positive match on the species we had encountered. The hooded woman and baby both belong to the race known as Delves.

The language belongs to creatures either known as elves and dark elves. Their collective racial names are known as The Ancient Ones."

As Eve finished her explanation I became more and more interested in what this world had to offer as we regrouped and continued our journey, when suddenly Haruka snapped us out of our thoughts telling us something rather important.

"Master, Haruka has scouted the area and has found several villages which fit the description of the named species."

After hearing what she said I abruptly stopped and turned around.

"So... you say you found the village the hooded woman might be going towards? Why didn't you say so sooner?! Lead the way Haruka!"

Haruka apologized and quickly took the lead as we began to follow her. As we followed her,

Haruka warned us whenever we needed to look out for enemies. As this happened a few times it became apparent we got closer to the village she had mentioned.

Haruka stopped us, as she introduced us to a place she had told us about, s.h.i.+elded from the outside. Thick wooden walls surrounded the entire area as a huge tree could be seen overgrowing the entire area.

We took cover close by as Eve warned us for people keeping watch on top of the walls.

We had to find a way in... but how could we do this without being seen or noticed as intruders...?
