"Stylish? What do you mean?" Yu Chang asked.
"Well, I was thinking you might want to experience riding on one of these," Falling Star said as she materialized an exquisite sword. The blade gave off a silvery blue radiance inn her hand making it hard to capture the details.
"Is that a copy of the legendary Cheng Ying sword?" Yu Chang asked.
"Hmmm, you seem to know your history. However, what I hold in my hand is not a copy. This is the sword of legends itself. About a thousand years ago, around the time of evolution, a ma.s.sive demon invasion took place on Earth. During that invasion, the world's legendary weapons all vanished. Ever since cultivators from every nationality have been frantically searching for the missing weapons. It is said that these weapons were tempered in the flames of many Heavenly Tribulations and will have a profound impact on a cultivator's growth. Unfortunately, I have only found two. This Cheng Ying sword resonates with me, but I can not wield the other. According to the legends, it is said that anyone could use these blades, so I'm unsure why I can't use the other sword in my possession. Anyways, what do you say, would you like to experience riding on a flying sword?"
Yu Chang attempted to examine the blade again. Behind the silvery blue radiance, he realized that the blade itself wasn't there. The radiance took the shape of the blade, but beneath the radiance was nothing. It was just as the legends said, the Cheng Ying sword was without a blade, or at least the blade was invisible. "Yes, Master Star, I would very much like to ride a flying sword."
"I thought you would!" Falling Star laid the sword down and stepped onto the radiating light, then she held out a hand to Yu Chang. "Given your current situation you'll need to hold on tight while we fly," she said as she situated Yu Chang behind her on the blade, pulling his arms around her waist.
Yu Chang blushed, luckily Falling Star was unable to see it due to him standing behind her. It was a very normal reaction though any man would blush while wrapping their arms around this heavenly G.o.ddess.
"I said tight; if that's all the strength you can put in, we might as well take the car."
Yu Chang sighed and squeezed as tight as he could.
"Oof…" Falling Star grunted at the unexpected amount of force. If she weren't already in the eighth level this amount of strength might have given her some problems. She smiled as she patted Yu Chang's hand. "That's more like it!" Then she commanded the sword to take off, "Fly!"
If Yu Chang hadn't tightened his grip, he feared he would have been sent flying immediately. The blast of air that met his body was only partially blocked by Falling Star and his feet slipped on the unseen blade. As his feet slipped his grip loosened causing him to fall face first on the sword. Luckily he managed to grab Falling Star's ankles in time to avoid falling off the sword completely, but his head was ringing due to the impact with the flat of the blade.
Noticing Yu Chang's current predicament Falling Star looked down to see him furiously hugging her ankles. Frowning she realized the current situation could be really bad. "If you look up, I will be extremely upset," she shouted down to Yu Chang.
"What?" Yu Chang unable to hear over the wind hitting his face mercilessly, looked up. He was greeted with an unprecedented scene, Falling Star's pearl-white legs towered over him as he caught just a hint of frilly pink lace before Falling Star's foot stomped on the blade launching him into the air.
Reaching out a hand Falling Star grabbed the collar of Yu Chang's s.h.i.+rt, forcefully pulling him in and throwing him over her shoulder. "I said don't look up!" she screamed with a crimson face. "We will have words later! For now, you'll just have to make do with this unsightly option since you can't follow directions." Falling Star's Cheng Ying blade zipped through the sky picking up speed as they made their way across town.
A few minutes later, the Cheng Ying blade slowed to a stop, hovering over a busy street. "We're here," Falling Star said and stepped off the sword over twenty kilometers above the ground. "Oh, I just stepped off out of habit, I forgot I have you here Little Yu. No matter, you'll be fine." Falling Star s.h.i.+fted Yu Chang in her arms and cradled him in the princess carry style once again. Seconds later her slippered feet hit the pavement leaving slight cracks that stretched out a few meters.
As Falling Star set Yu Chang down on the sidewalk, he looked at the cracks below her feet and shuddered thinking about the way the two of them first encountered one another.
Falling Star smiled at his reaction as she reached her hand towards the sky calling forth the Cheng Ying blade. "Don't worry Little Yu, I don't plan to crush you again, I have something else in mind to punish you with later." The Cheng Ying blade floated lazily into Falling Star's grasp and she put it away in one of her many s.p.a.ce storage items. "Let's go, father's friend should be waiting for us inside."
