A girl entered the library and started sorting out books and cleaning them one by one. The library was huge but it didn't have much work to do. Mostly the scholars and upper-cla.s.s people used to come here and all of them very mannered except a few of them so the library was always very clean.
She was roaming inside the library while humming but instantly stopped when she saw a handsome man who was sitting on the floor. His eyes were closed, it was as if he fell asleep while reading. He was frowning and pouting while sleeping and looked a bit childish. Afraid that she will wake him up she put one of her hands on her mouth to control her laughter. All the elites used to come here and if someone took an offence then the consequences she and her father had to face would be dire.
After taking several deep breaths and stabilising herself she crouched near him and gently shook him.
Mister, hey mister you can't sleep here. Please get up, she gently said.
Rune was dazed after he was shaken up ad it took him some time to get a clear view. He opened his eyes and saw a beautiful blonde-haired girl in front of him. She had blue azure eyes which were like the colour of the sea.
I apologise, maybe exhaustion came over me so I slept here, after coming out of his daze he sincerely apologised.
Seeing him apologise so sincerely made the girl unable to react. She knew that all the people that used to visit the library were elites with great manner but none of them had ever spoken to her so sincerely or maybe so softly. Everyone who used to come here used to treat her like an annoying fly.
She was a cheeky and helpful girl. Often she would volunteer herself to help others but everyone used to look at her in disdain or in irritation. They always used to change their path when they saw her coming. When she was a kid she used to cry when people treated her like this but after she grew up she became accustomed to their behaviour thus Rune sincere apology left her fl.u.s.tered.
Her cheeks became red like apples and shyly she shook her head," it's fine you don't need to apologise. If you want you can rent a room inside a library. We provide rooms and rental services to peoples who need to study inside the library for several days so you could apply for it at the main desk ".She sincerely suggested this to Rune.
Thank you miss. Do you work here? Rune asked.
Well, yeah you could say so. She said with a smile which revealed a dimple on her left cheek.
Pardon? Rune said. He never wasted his time on women but for some unknown reason he found her adorable and cute so he asked another question to her.
My father, Mr Rubin is the owner of this library. This is the ancestral library and had always run by Rubin's generations. All the important books, scrolls and information on Reinstle empire could be found here, the girl said with a proud voice.
Rune became quiet for a moment before asking another question, "What is your name?"
My name is Resel Rubin, she introduced her self with a smile.what's yours?
My name is Rune Taylor, the son of Brian Taylor, he also introduced himself calmly.
After knowing the ident.i.ty of the man in front of him Resel eas fl.u.s.tered and scared. Taylor's were not just anyone and if he got offended her father will skin her alive." I am sorry for my rudeness Mr Rune.I won't disturb you you could resume your work" and with that, she timidly ran away from him.
Rune was very much entertained after seeing Resel behaviour but soon his expression became sombre. He had been searching for the blue crystal and he came here in hope to find some information but after searching whole night he still couldn't find anything. He has a hunch that there will be surely something here in this library after all this was the oldest library in the whole empire but searching for a book in this huge library with thousand if books were like finding a needle in the hay. He was frustrated but he can't give up. It was related to his sweeties and there was no way he would back down so he gathered himself and decided to rent a room here if he needs to search for it.
With long strides, he strode in the direction of the main desk and applied for a rental room. As he was filling his rental form he saw an old man with Resel. The man was bald and fat but and had a caring expression. He was very far so he wasn't able to hear them but from their expression, it seemed like the man was reprimanding her but was not too strict. He lectured her for some time and then left.
Rune calmly looked away then submitted his application and after that, he slowly walked in her direction. Resel was still pouting her cherry coloured lips when someone grabbed her wrist softly and dragged her toward a secluded area inside a library and even before she could shriek her mouth was covered with a hand. She was extremely terrified and in another instant, she was pushed on the wall behind her. Her doe-like eyes wider when she saw the man who dragged her. She didn't know why but her cheeks became red with embarra.s.sment.
Shh, i am sorry for dragging you like this but I have a request to ask from you. Can you promise to not shriek or scream after I remove my hand, Rune said in a deep but low volume.
They were only inches apart and she could feel his hot breath on her face when he spoke. She dumbly nodded her head in surrender.
Rune backed away some steps '"I am extremely sorry for this indecent behaviour but I am on a mission so my ident.i.ty needs to be secret so I hope you won't tell anyone" he said politely.
Resel was thrilled to hear two consecutive apologies and that too from the same man. She wanted to tell him that she didn't mind this, not a bit but then changed her mind. It would be indecent if she said this to him, he was still a stranger.
So why did you told me your ident.i.ty? she asked suspiciously.
Because you are simple-minded and wouldn't wrong anyone visiting your library, he said casually but only he knew what blabber he was speaking. What simple-minded, he just told his ident.i.ty when he was dazed so he needed to rectify his mistake and he was the best method to do it. In his heart, he was very happy and thanked his sweeties several times, after all, every woman was the same and would be appeased by sweet nothings.
Resel was shocked when she heard his reason and once again didn't knew what to say or how to react so she hung her head low in embarra.s.sment.
