Little by little, she a.n.a.lysed the comparison between Caleb and Ezekiel.
Caleb once was the aggressive type, but now he surprisingly changed. He was the big 'No' before, but things have changed now, he's changed now. Samantha can't help it but notice these big changes. She might not notice it, but Caleb was already slowly getting close to her in many ways.
Ezekiel, the gentle type, but somewhat became the aggressive type. He was being to forward lately and it gave Samantha a lot of pressure. Even though he's changed a little, Samantha can't deny that Ezekiel held an important place in her heart. He was a friend after all.
"You're here," a voice sounded from behind her.
It was Ezekiel.
"I figured you'll be here," he said then sat down beside Samantha, "I'm sorry about earlier, I didn't mean to pressure you like that. I just really wanted to express how I really feel about you," he explained.
"No, it' okay. Maybe I over reacted too. Sorry if I walked out on you," Samantha replied while looking down. She didn't have the courage to face Ezekiel right now.
"Can you look at me Sam?" he said while trying to reach out for her face.
Samantha slowly raised her head, but she was still not looking at Ezekiel.
Ezekiel held her chin and turned her to him gently, "Look at me Sam," he said. Samantha slowly moved her gaze towards Ezekiel's eyes. His eyes were beautiful, but something felt different inside Samantha while she looked at him.
She suddenly remembered Caleb's eyes. His blue eyes that looked like they were calling, pulling her. His eyes that expressed a thousand emotions, the eyes that she can't help but look at.
But right now she didn't feel those.
She didn't feel it with Ezekiel.
"Right now I want to say that I like you Sam, I really like you. Your smiles, your laughs, you, I want them all for myself. This is the first time Ive felt like this Samantha, no woman has ever made me feel this way. So believe me when I say that I will wait for you, I'll wait till you fall for me," he said while looking at Samantha straight in the eyes.
Samantha didn't respond and just stared at him. She can't understand the emotions she was currently feeling right now. She's lost in her own mind, what is this?
Slowly, Ezekiel moved his head closer to Samantha.
He was going to kiss her.
As he moved closer, Samantha closed her eyes, but Caleb's face suddenly appeared in her head. It was an image of him smiling handsomely at her.
Samantha instantly opened her eyes and turned her head away before Ezekiel touched her lips.
"I'm sorry I can't do this," she said. Samantha grabbed her bag and the sunflower Caleb gave her, then walked away.
On her way out of the school, she b.u.mped into the Reverix boys. They blocked Samantha's path.
"Oh, hi Sam!" greeted Jake.
"Erm, hi?" she responded, "Please let me go, I'm in a hurry," she added.
"Let us walk you home," Klay offered.
"No thanks, I can manage," she said while she tried to figure where she can escape. But suddenly Caleb moved forward and faced her.
"Let us take you home Sam, just for today," he said in a gentle tone.
Samantha stared at him.
This again.
This feeling again.
His captivating eyes.
Why can't I get enough of this?
"Sam?"
"O-okay…" she responded.
"Give me your bag, I'll carry it for you," Caleb offered.
"No it's o-okay," she responded but Caleb grabbed her bag anyways.
"It's fine," he said. Then Caleb's gaze fell on the thing that was on Samantha's hand. He can't help it but smile.
It was the sunflower from him.
"Let's go?" Caleb asked and Samantha nodded in response. The group then, started to walk. The Reverix boys let Caleb and Samantha walk ahead of them and discussed things among themselves.
"I wondered why Caleb suddenly picked a sunflower earlier, now I know," – Ravelo.
"Yeah, he also vanished from cla.s.s the whole day, I guess he went to her," – Klay.
"I wonder if Samantha already decided on who to choose between Ezekiel and Caleb," – Raviel.
"Of course it's Caleb for sure!" – Jake.
"But honestly, that Ezekiel guy is also a good choice," – Klay.
"Oh no thanks. Samantha for sure, wouldn't like to be his food source once he goes blood l.u.s.t," – Jake.
"Yeah my vote is with Caleb too. Don't you remember what he said earlier?" – Ravelo.
"He said what?" – Klay.
"That he wanted happiness for Samantha. With just that made him the better option already," – Ravelo.
"Yeah, I do agree with that. Loving someone means you wish them happiness even if it's not with you. Love shouldn't be selfish. Caleb sure matured big time," – Raviel.
"Are you guys done? Did you forget that we're here?" Caleb suddenly turned to them and glared.
Samantha on the other hand, felt her heart race. After hearing what they said, she suddenly felt a tingling feeling in her heart.
Caleb really did say that to her. He wished her happiness before. The line that made her completely confused.
Did he really mean that?
"Don't mind them, they're just fooling around," Caleb said.
Reverix boys immediately zipped their mouths as they walked. They will for sure be dead later.
Arriving at Samantha's house, Caleb turned his head around to see if the man was there. He also signalled the boys to search around the area.
"We'll go for a stroll first, you neighbourhood looks beautiful!" said Jake. They didn't wait for Samantha to respond anymore before they dispersed themselves.
"Uhm… Thank you for walking me home," Samantha said while trying to reach out for her bag, but Caleb didn't give it to her.
"Is your mom home?" he asked her.
Samantha looked at Caleb weirdly, "She is… why?" she asked.
"I have some things to discuss with her," Caleb responded and went straight inside their house.
Suddenly, Samantha's eyes grew wide. She blocked Caleb's path going inside their house, "You can't go in," she said but Caleb didn't mind her and just continued going inside.
"Sammy? Is that you?" a voice came from the kitchen.
Samantha's mom walked out of the kitchen and she instantly jumped in surprise when she saw Caleb, "Uh… who are you?" she asked.
"Caleb!" shouted Samantha, "Mom!" she greeted as soon as her eyes saw her mom standing 2 feet away from them.
"Who is this man Sam?" she asked her daughter.
"Good evening Ma'am, my name is Caleb Sylvester. I'm here to discuss a few things with you regarding Samantha. Do you have time?" Caleb said.
"Don't listen to him mom! Go home now Caleb!" Samantha said while she pushed Caleb away, but the man won't budge.
"Honey, let me talk to him. I guess he has a lot to say to me," her mom suddenly said. Samantha looked at her mom in disbelief. She said what?
"Can we please talk in private auntie?" Caleb said.
"Sure then, Sammy go up to your room first," instructed her mom.
"No! I'm staying!" she protested. She was worried that Caleb might tell her mom some weird thing so she didn't want to leave.
"Honey this is a talk between us okay? He wants us to talk in private so it means he doesn't want you to hear," her mom explained.
"But…"
"I promise I won't do anything to your mom okay?" Caleb raised his right hand as a gesture of promise.
"Ugh fine!" Samantha groaned. She walked upstairs with heavy steps.
Caleb made sure that Samantha was inside her room before he turned to face Samantha's mom.
"Please sit Caleb. What is it that you want to talk about?" Samantha's mom asked as she sat on the sofa. Caleb sat across Samantha's mom.
"Before anything else, may I please ask you to cast a spell so Samantha won't hear us?" Caleb said.
Samantha's mom was instantly taken aback when she heard what Caleb said.
"You… How did you…"
"Shhhh…" Caleb hushed then pointed upstairs, gesturing that Samantha might me listening to them.
Samantha's mom immediately whispered some words that Caleb didn't understand.
"It's okay, you can talk now," she said.
"First of all, you may be wondering how I knew about you. It was a rough guess actually, but I think I have an idea what Samantha is now," Caleb said.
Caleb reached out for a bottle inside his bag and rinsed his hand with it. He reached out for his eyes and removed one of his contact lenses, then showed his eyes to Samantha's mom.
"You're an alpha," she said in surprise.
"You're right, I am," Caleb said as he placed his contacts back, "And I'm guessing that you're a witch, a white witch in specific," he added.
"I am, but how did you know?" she asked confusedly.
What was this? Why was an alpha suddenly appeared in their house?
