s.h.i.+ndow tapped his finger on his chin before slowly raising his hand at the wall. While it would seem see through there were little waves in the energy. For normal people they were almost undetectable but for someone like s.h.i.+ndow. These were small moments where the energy field had to reset its self due to taking a small moment to keep the components from over heating. It was short bursts so short that it would be impossible to take advantage off. With s.h.i.+ndow's speed he could see exactly how long he had to get through this area of time.

After examining the time frame he knew with his speed moving through that s.p.a.ce of time would be near impossible with his speed. He sighed as he moves to getting up walking to the other end of the cell. He seemed to turn into a puff of smoke as he rushed towards the wall. While his timing was correct his body slammed into the solid wall of light particles. He bounced off as the front of his robe caught fire for a second. He quickly patted it out sighing as he realized he wasn't fast enough to grasp the moment.

s.h.i.+ndow's energy rapidly sent sparks of black lightning all through the room as he was trying to find the fight timing. While ordinary lightning attacks are fast even they cannot move faster then light. so even if he sent them off at random times the chances of finding the timing was close to never. So by using black lightning he was using the power of nullifying light while traveling at its speed. The only problem is without a medium the power was impossible to control.

When the lightning finally hit the barrier it wasn't without cause. The barrier didn't flinch but the lightning has managed to make the timing grow by having slowed the barrier slightly. But even if s.h.i.+ndow had fired it out he was no where near fast enough.

"You know if your trying to escape I would advise having something that could simply block the barriers energy. Tho to be honest, your looking at this the wrong way. Your aiming for the brief moment when the power cycles but your not looking at the moment you perceive it. While minds have a limit to how we observe our surroundings if we could ignore that and learn the actual feeling of time its self then we could understand the speed of light." said cross as he sat down watching s.h.i.+ndow turn the inside of his cell into a smolder of black burn marks.

s.h.i.+ndow took a moment to think about what the kid was saying. His hand slowly formed regular lightning which was able to be controlled. The reason regular lightning is controllable is because light if everywhere meaning it had a balance to its energy. To create lightning was to vibrate molecules so fast within an area they begin to spark as they collide. Darkness or shadow energy was different in its own nature.

Shadow energy engulfs the light around it making it create a black form but in reality it was formless. Shadow energy on its own is weak because it can't create its own form. It needs some form of medium to help create its form. Black water is a created from the motion the water is moving and the shadow element infused into it. Considerably useless cause once the motion stops the energy stops. Earth is unable to fuse with shadow magic making it break apart. Wind is formless meaning shadow infused wind is formless but still works well on cutting through barriers. while formless doesn't mean useless because wind is a constant stream of energy. Basically by adding shadow to the wind while shaping the wind makes it possible yet formless.

The two most destructive forms of shadow combinations is Fire and lightning. Fire is its own living ent.i.ty that grows the more it is able to consume. With Shadow infused this energy will continue to grow because its energy is eating the light around it. the intense heat is so strong that it burns the light away creating a much denser flame. Lightning which creates its own light inverts the power of shadow when fused. It must travel from light to the areas void of light making is impossible to control because the energy is reaching out searching for such areas.

As s.h.i.+ndow went over the idea in his head something got to him. What if he housed the lightning within his body. Inside and object you can easily house black lightning because its within a medium. To house elements within a body isn't unheard of but one needed to be very attuned to the element in order for it. s.h.i.+ndow's body was one of the first demon bodies that could use all six elements to the extent that he is able. So housing lightning within himself wouldn't be a problem nor would shadow but the idea of both at the same time...

The problem with this is the fact when a medium is used for magic it takes on those element's tendency. So even a sword with black lightning still would release all its energy the moment its housed with in it. That's why black lightning is added to its medium the moment it hits. So If s.h.i.+ndow were to do this would his body attempt to break apart searching for the darkness.

s.h.i.+ndow first started by adding the lightning to his body which was already an like pouring water into a cup for him. It is why hes able to move as fast as he does. After feeling that energy fill his body he slowly started to line his outer layer of his body in shadow energy. He did this as a precaution to the fear of his body going haywire to the black lightning. Once he started to infuse the shadow into the lightning in his body he could feel the tearing pain. It was like his body was trying to pull in different directions.

The energy was being regulated back in by the layer of shadow clung to his skin but the pain made even a beast like s.h.i.+ndow double over. He was silent but if anyone had seen him curled over in pain as he was they would never believe it down on the planet. A demon who had experience pain even demon lords would fear and still stand was now curled up on the floor of a cell.

Cross did nothing as he watched mostly intrigued by s.h.i.+ndow. While those in their clan who could use magic were called art users they have very set forms of magic. None were anywhere near the level of s.h.i.+ndow much less able to do it with out their MAG or magic alignment generator. little robotic creatures used to create the energy fields they need to use magic.
