The bright moonlight illuminated Caesar's lonely figure which was quickly moving through the dense forest. He headed east, in the direction of the troll stronghold. He adorned a full set of black garbs and a strange mask covered his face, only his vibrant red eyes were visible.
A large number of dark clouds ama.s.sed in the sky above and a few flashes of lightning struck the nearby ground, creating an extremely gloomy atmosphere. Soon, small droplets of water rained down upon Caesar and soaked his clothes.
This, however, didn't halt his fast movement in the slightest. His feet didn't even appear to touch the ground he moved so fast, only the deep footprints left in his wake were discernible. Even the beasts that lived deep within the forest seemingly didn't care to bother Caesar, nor were they even capable of doing so.
Caesar continued with this quick pace for another two hours, until finally, he reached the outskirts of what he presumed to be, the troll stronghold. Their walls were made of some kind of stone and were a tad bit higher than the fox-kin walls. There was a guard responsible for every three feet on the walls.
Large wooden spikes were embedded deep within the ground next to the gates, and even a draw-bridge was present. Even a fool could tell that the troll stronghold's defenses were much more prominent and effective in comparison to the fox-kin.
With a mere glance, Caesar was easily able to distinguish the fact that the trolls' as a race, were far from being intelligent enough to accomplish this feat alone. Although this was merely speculation, it wasn't often that Caesar's theories were wrong.
He didn't dwell on the topic much longer and stealthily circled around the vigorous walls, trying to pinpoint the spot where he could infiltrate the easiest. He concealed his mana the best he could, in case there was a strong opponent within the premise, and soon discovered a relatively unguarded area at the southernmost point.
As it was the least likely place to be attacked, the trolls clearly didn't place as much importance on the particular area, in comparison to their other fronts. The blue, tall, and lanky trolls that were sitting atop the walls were nearly falling asleep and they numbered only around 10.
Seeing this, Caesar briefly surveyed the surroundings one more time, just in case, and then took out one small dagger. It was an average steel dagger, painted black, perfectly concealed within the dead of night.
After preparing himself, he approached the wall, albeit quietly, and crouched down. He waited a few seconds before jumping off the ground and immediately launching a few meters upwards. Because he wanted to be as covert as possible, once he soared halfway to the top, he stabbed the dagger into the wall and once again launched himself up. Soon reaching the top of the walls.
His abrupt appearance caused the trolls in front of him to momentarily stare wide-eyed, unfortunately, their moment of hesitation was all it took for Caesar to reach one of the troll's and stab him in the neck with his knife.
Red blood gushed out from the troll's neck and splattered on to Caesar's mask, however, his movements didn't stop. The weak and tired trolls, before they could even let out a sound, were one by one, slashed in the neck.
Within a mere seven seconds, the ten trolls were eradicated. Their blood flowed like a river and Caesar didn't hesitate to kick their bodies off the walls. Once that was finished, he s.h.i.+fted his attention to the insides of the walls and couldn't help but admire the sight.
Instead of tents, like the fox-kin. They had an a.s.sortment of houses, inner walls, and even a large amount of training facilities. On the right side, there appeared to be a large farm and considerable food storage.
In the middle, just like the fox-kin, resided a grandiose mansion. Caesar observed the surroundings for a few more seconds before jumping down the wall and heading to the right side of the stronghold. He didn't come here just to a.s.sa.s.sinate some trolls, no, he wanted to deal far more damage than that.
With this in mind, he quickened his pace and made sure he traveled through inconspicuous areas, as to not get spotted by the patrolling guards. After a few minutes, he finally arrived at the large farm that was currently unmanned. Although Caesar didn't quite understand why they would leave their main food supply unguarded, he wasn't one to complain.
He wasn't capable of using fire magic, however, his ice magic would suffice. He put his hand on the ground and didn't hesitate to use half of his mana supply to completely freeze the crops, roots, and even soil. A huge amount of bluish mist escaped from the once luscious farm, and the only thing left was a frozen wasteland.
Thankfully, the loud thunder and raindrops somewhat cloaked Caesar's actions, but it wouldn't be long until the trolls caught sight of their ruined farm. Thinking to here, Caesar quickly rushed out of the area and headed towards the middle of the troll stronghold.
If Caesar was being completely honest, he had already achieved his goal. He simply wanted to destroy their intake of food, and give them a little scare. This would inadvertently shake them up and if Caesar continuously did this, they would be forced to sleep with one eye open.
However, he suddenly remembered the fact that there were no female trolls, and that they relied on the females of other races to procreate, similar to goblins and orcs. Thus, if he were to find their 'breeding grounds' so to speak, he could potentially put many women out of their misery, while also doing some damage to the trolls.
Although Caesar didn't think that the trolls kept all of their women in one spot, which would be utterly idiotic. He still thought there was a spot they held a decent amount of their captives… the only problem would be locating the said location.
Thinking to here, Caesar jumped on top of a nearby building that was made out of wood and crouched down. It stood about four meters and the moonlight barely pierced through the thick clouds and illuminated Caesar's figure.
'It appears this is going to be easier than expected' Caesar thought inwardly whilst observed a small group of trolls who were tidying up their pants after exiting a relatively large building just a couple dozen meters away from him.
A red tarp was draped across the wide doorway and a large stream of trolls entered and exited… as if it was some kind of tourist attraction. The trolls that entered carried sinister and l.u.s.tful smiles, while the ones that existed contained satisfied and lukewarm expressions.
"Animals…" Caesar couldn't help but whisper under his breath after witnessing such a scene. His black cloak fluttering in the faint moonlight as he hopped off the house he was sitting on.
