Caesar's words were met with silence as Zul'thar entered into a fighting stance. Perhaps, if they had met on different terms, they could fight a fair battle, however, Caesar was the one who killed his son. Thus, the grudge was far too difficult to bare.

Caesar was well aware of the hatred that Zul'thar held for him, so he didn't waste any more time talking and lifted his scythe with much effort. His sore muscles screamed in agitation but he simply gritted his teeth and pressed on.

Overexerting your mana not only caused a tremendous mental backlash, but also a physical one. He not only used his authority but also used two ice attacks of large magnitude, as such, his mana reserves were run dry.

Seeing this, Zul'thar laughed cheekily and rushed forward, he launched off the ground and appeared in front of Caesar within seconds. His fighting style was hyper-aggressive and Caesar could barely block his quick attacks.

Instead of attacking with powerful blows, Zul'thar used his speed to continuously a.s.sault Caesar, performing dozens of light attacks. Thus, Caesar, who was already exhausted, was forced to block or evade.

The halberd came cras.h.i.+ng down like a turbid river and Caesar could barely block with his overly large scythe. He was constantly being pushed back and streaks of dirt formed at his feet, not to mention the ever-increasing small cuts on his body.

His already pale skin became even paler as he lost more blood. His armor and clothes slowly becoming dyed red. From a spectators point of view, Caesar was merely being bullied as he was continuously obtaining injury after injury.

However, a discerning eye would be able to observe that Zul'thar was slowly getting more and more frustrated. He wasn't someone who toyed with his enemies, as such, every strike he made was intended to kill.

Unfortunately for him, Caesar, as if he predicted each strike, moved his scythe to the perfect location. As if he was able to predetermine all of his moves, Caesar would always match his strike. This frustrated Zul'thar to no end, alas, he could only speed up his attacks.

He wasn't someone who possessed an abundance of mana, nor did he have masterful control, instead, he was someone who relied on physical prowess, which was the racial advantage of the trolls.

Thankfully, with Caesar's eye prowess, he was able to predetermine where Zul'thar would strike with relative ease. The only setback being that when using his ultimate eyes, it constantly drained his already dry physical body.

Not to mention the fact that although he was barely holding on, he was in no position to strike back. As the saying went, if you never attacked, you would never have a chance at victory. Thus, with minimal movements, Caesar was able to hold on, albeit, by a strand.

While this strange battle was taking place, the 12 clan heads fought the 10 commanders to a stand-still. The fox-kin atop the walls constantly fired arrows and the trolls finally reached the gates with battering rams.

Utter chaos swept through the battlefield and neither side had a definite advantage. The trolls had a disadvantage when it came to the terrain, however, their numbers and tools far outcla.s.sed the fox-kin.

The Ceros creatures were a testament to that fact, their thick hide was nearly impossible to penetrate with mere arrows, causing some of the magician-savvy fox-kin to focus on them with their fire magic.

Suddenly, small droplets of rain fell from the dark sky and mixed in with the b.l.o.o.d.y ground. It soaked the clothes of many and even weakened the fire using fox-kin, however, it also slowed down the charging trolls.

Loud thunder rang in the ears of all those present as if it were a hammer of judgment. The loud wailing and cries for help become especially loud with the falling rain, and the ruthless battle continued on.

Caesar's physical body slowly became unable to match the speed of his eyes and his body became even more littered with wounds. His wounded appearance struck anger into the fox-kin and morale into the trolls.

Both sides fought with everything on the line and no fox-kin were willing to give up whilst Caesar still stood. His arms were drooping and his eyelids barely remained open, his normally beautiful, silver hair was dyed red and his arrogant smile was nowhere to be seen.

Instead, his eyes were full of menace as he constantly matched Zul'thar, his body becoming more and more riddled with wounds as he tempted to surpa.s.s his limits once again. Alas, in reality, he could no longer carry on.

Finally, the scythe in his hands fell to the ground and created a loud clank with its fall, attracting the attention of the entire battlefield. All of those present watched with their jaws dropping as Zul'thars halberd penetrated Caesar's abdomen.

It pierced through his back and impaled him, solidifying the fact that Caesar had finally lost the duel, however, a loud laugh escaped from his lips as he seized Zul'thars arms which were clasped around the hilt of the halberd.

Zul'thar tried to drop his weapon and retreat, however, Caesar strong grip wouldn't relent. Fear struck Zul'thar as he gazed into Caesar's cold eyes, a black mist escaping from his back. Perhaps, Caesar had already prepared for death when walking into this battle.

Such a thought caused Zul'thar to struggle even more relentlessly, alas, the black mist slowly encroached upon his body, withering him at a rate discernible to the eye.

"DIE, DIE, DIE, DIE!" Zul'thar roared as he constantly kicked Caesar's already impaled body, causing him to constantly cough up blood. In response, the nearby troll soldiers rushed toward Caesar and stabbed him in the back with their swords.

Soon, over 10 swords had penetrated Caesar's back, but he still held on to the halberd. A small smile forming on his lips, "I have never been afraid of death, only losing" he whispered into Zul'thars ears as his eyes finally closed.

"STOP, PLEAS-," Before Zul'thar could finish his words, Caesar's final attack, at last, withered his body, making him disappear into the void. Silence swept the battlefield as Caesar's impaled figure fell to the ground, an immense amount of blood dripping from his wounds.

"CAESARRR!" A loud and melodious scream echoed out from the nearby forest, causing Caesar to briefly glance in that direction. A beautiful woman with violet hair and four luscious, white tails was standing there with fear, shock, unwillingness, and even anger on her face.

Joe, Tiberius, Magni, Leo, The kobold leader, the furbolgs, the gnomes, and the kobolds, were all standing there with her. They were about easily five hundred in number and presumably rushed over after gaining some information from an a.s.sa.s.sin.

Unfortunately, right as they arrived, they bared witness to Caesar being continuously stabbed by the trolls, in the middle of the enemy ranks. His back was desolate as he fell to the ground, killing the troll king with him. This caused two streams of tears to fall from Ahri's eyes as she screamed his name without a second thought.

Her appearance caused an uproar for both sides, although her numbers were somewhat small, they were still enough to turn the tide of the battle. As such, a strong flame escape from Ahri's body as another tail popped out. Her eyes were full of rage as she rushed down and disintegrated the nearby trolls.

That wasn't all, however, Joe's body began to turn red and hot steam escaped from his head as he charged down and a.s.saulted the trolls with an abnormally large amount of strength. The nearby gnomes and furbolgs also rus.h.i.+ng in and helping with the battle.

Fueled by anger, the other fox-kin pushed even harder and they finally managed to start pus.h.i.+ng the shocked trolls back. They had just lost their prided troll-king, and they were no longer drunk on excess morale.

This was all witnessed by Caesar as he slowly fell to his back and gazed at the dark and cloudy sky. Droplets of rain splas.h.i.+ng his pale and overly handsome face. His white hair flowed behind his back and rested on the ground.

The lethal wounds and amount of blood he lost caused him to lose all hope for survival, however, he felt that it was worth it. The sight of seeing Ahri, his wife, killing the trolls in a burst of anger brought him much joy.

Even Joe turned enraged at the sight of him being stabbed, which also filled Caesar with a sort of happiness and sadness. He was happy that they cared for him but also sad that he had to leave them behind. Perhaps, he was never meant to be the main character of this world.

With such thoughts, Caesar was about to peacefully drift off to sleep, however, a whisper suddenly rang out from beside him. It refused to let him sleep, thus, he gradually opened one of his eyes and glanced to the left.

His dark scythe, that he had dropped earlier, seemed to be calling to him. Unable to move, Caesar just stared at it blankly before giving up and closing his eyes once again.

"Do you want to live?" that same whisper entered into his ears, and he could only mutter, "of course."

"Then form a pact with me, that d.a.m.nable old man sealed me away when you took me out and showed my greatness to him, however, since he is no longer here, I am no longer sealed… If you form a pact with me, I can save you" a deep, raspy, and evil sounding voice tempted Caesar as he was on death's door.

With no other options, Caesar just smiled wryly, "very well," he whispered, he figured that the only reason he wasn't dead yet, was due to the scythe anyway. From the amount of blood he has lost, under normal circ.u.mstances, he would've died already.

"Hehe, to think I would be able to once again serve my master… luck is truly on my side," The evil voice paused for a second, "the rules of our pact entail that I will forever fight on your side, as long as you kill, no, destroy, Raphael, Gabriel, Uriel, Itherael, and Auriel. Do you agree?" The same voice asked once again, unfortunately, Caesar had no clue who the people he named were.

"I suppose," he answered curtly and his vision suddenly blacked out.

As he fell to an unconscious state, a strange, black energy seeped into Caesar's body, forming two small protrusions on his upper back. As this was happening, the war continued to rage on, but this time, the trolls were being pushed heavily back.

"Don't die, don't die, please don't die, Caesar!" Ahri whispered repeatedly as tears fell from her face. An unfathomable sorrow a.s.saulted her heart as she gazed at Caesar's fallen body.
