Caesar stroked the rough fur of one of the larger bears, a doting smile plastered on his face. He had not seen his beautiful bears for quite a while, and from the looks of it, their muscles and intelligence had further increased since the last time he saw them.

The mana within their body was rich and the dozen or so bears easily pressured the knights on the training grounds. Unfortunately, most of the knights were either in school or currently at home, thus, only a hundred or so knights were on duty.

Not to mention the fact that most of the present knights were recruits, further lessening their chance of victory. Naturally, they wanted to decline his proposition, however, such an action was deemed impossible by the older men, and they immediately unsheathed their wooden swords.

The younger recruits, although still confused, followed their instructors lead and shakily held their swords. A mocking smile played on Caesar's lips as he observed their rather inefficient formation, stance, and mindset.

"I'll inform the newcomers on the rules before beginning," Caesar said, "number one, you may not fatally injure, nor use bladed weapons. Number two, you must not cheat and use any underhanded methods. Number three, giving up or running away in unacceptable."

As Caesar's words ended, he raised his right hand in the air and signaled for the battle to start. The flame-bears instantaneously roared and charged forward on all fours, striking fear into the new recruits and causing some of them to drop their weapons.

A few of the stronger and battle-hardened knights roared a few times and attempted to direct the younger men, however, their efforts were in vain. Before they could even possibly enter into a formation, the bears charged in and begun irreversible chaos.

A plume of dust was wafted into air and Caesar wasn't even forced to raise a single finger before the flame bears absolutely decimated the knights. Like ragdolls, their bodies were flung all over the place and streams of tears fell from the younger men.

The older knights, however, simply played dead on the ground and hid under their unconscious teammates. Such a scene was rather comical and Caesar couldn't help but chuckle, he wanted to strike fear into the rookies and force them to start striving for strength. If they didn't, their deaths were inevitable if a war were to start.

With this in mind, Caesar clapped his hands and gestured for the flame bears to retreat. Of course, the trained bears immediately stopped what they were doing and grouped up behind Caesar, laughing mockingly at the fallen knights in front of them.

"Do you understand now?" Caesar asked, "you were caught unprepared and you moved into formation far too slowly. All of you felt fear and your movements were sluggish because none of you were used to battle," he continued whilst staring at each of the younger men in the eyes.

Some of their pants were full of urine while others had directly gone unconscious from the sheer shock. Such a pathetic scene was intolerable for the "demon marshall". In fact, he could feel anger rise within him at the mere sight of such inadequate warriors.

"Tomorrow, a new group of warriors will be joining you for training… their physical strength is dreadful, however, their intelligence falls slightly short. Naturally, to keep up with these warriors, your training will now double…" Caesar explained as he slowly trod towards the tall building.

The fallen knights could only pray to their G.o.ds and beg for forgiveness, however, their prayers were not heard and only the sound Caesar's footsteps rang in their ears. Nonetheless, after today, many of the unprepared and weaker men would drop out of the brigade.

Caesar was aware of this fact and didn't pay it much heed. A bad soldier was worse than have fewer soldiers. It only took one failure and one mistake for the entire formation to fall, or worse. As such, he would gladly let the inexperienced trash leave the strong knight brigade.

With this in mind, he finally reached the tall, stone building. He pushed open the thick wooden doors and entered, a delightful smell immediately a.s.saulting him. The sound of scribbling, speaking, and even building echoed out within the building.

A lime-green carpet was elegantly laid out on the floor and a large table was situated at the end of the room. Many different pieces of both the color black and white were present, one signifying enemies and allies.

An older man who wielded a stick was directing a group of young students on military strategy. Many heated discussions alongside advising were taking place and Caesar's presence was not even noticed. The children of varying ages carried smiles of excitement as they gave their opinions, not caring about their outer appearance in the slightest.

Such a sight brought much joy to Caesar and he didn't dare interrupt the learning students, instead, he quietly walked up the stairs on the side. Again, he was greeted by more students, but this time, they were a group of beautiful elves.

Instead of heating discussions, they were much more sophisticated with the students taking turns to deliver their speech and opinion. Naturally, the teacher was Sylvian, the leader of the Night-Ranger.

He looked the same as he did previously, his face was sharp and chin slightly pointed. His long hair rested on his shoulders as he gracefully explained the importance of rations, supplies, and weaponry to the young elven children.

Caesar observed them for a few more moments before turning around and walking back down the stairs. He would come back when the time was right, but for now, he would let the students learn without interruption. In Caesar's opinion, education was of much importance at their age.

Thus, he quietly left the school building, walked over the injured and unconscious knights, and put the flame bears back in their cages. His next destination would be the merchants guild and the slums, to recruit the fox-kin warriors into the knight brigade.
