Before the fox-kin and knights' could even react, Caesar snapped his elegant fingers. Afterword, a few carts were brought into the training grounds by very muscular men. Their bodies were full of sweat and their muscles taut.

The wheels on the carts dug an inch or so deep into the ground as they were pulled, displaying its heavy weight. The knights and fox-kin alike could only gulp down a mouthful of saliva as they fearfully glanced at the carts.

Weapons, armor, tools, and even weights were present. Naturally, there were some peculiar objects as well, such as a strange blue ball, a few pieces of cloth, and a huge bundle of bandages.

Caesar knew that all humans possessed a limit when it came to their physical body, however, their magical talent was an entirely different story. He had fought powerful humans from the church first hand, and he knew how strong humans were capable of becoming.

Thus, he asked himself, why not his knights? Was it because their talent was non-existent, no, it was because they never tried to. Magic was something that only n.o.bles and the church were knowledgable about, leaving commoners behind.

Thinking to here, he opened his thin lips, "Clan heads, lead your small groups to pick up a set of armor and take a wooden weapon as well," he said, "as for you, knights, I want you to group up and sit down on the ground."

As his words were carried by the wind, the many knights and fox-kin did as he ordered. The fox-kin soon equipped his excessively heavy armor and the knights sat down in a group, curious as to what they were going to do next.

Caesar watched all of this with a subtle grin and soon ordered the fox-kin to run a few dozen laps with their current armor on. They needed to complete the knight registration test, so he would start them off on some simple physical training. As for the knights, Caesar approached them and extended his arms to the side.

An almost ethereal, light-blue energy escaped from his hands and entered into the large group of knights, including Tod and Sylvian. It penetrated their abdomen and seeped into their very being, shocking them.

The unknown force caused a few of the knight to grind their teeth painfully, while the others merely s.h.i.+vered and started to sweat. The energy coiled around their vital organs; their body slowly but surely getting used to the foreign feeling.

It was cold and unnatural, but the many knights ground their teeth and powered through, as it was something that Caesar had ordered them to do. They were no strangers to pain, and even when blood fell from their mouths, none of them screamed out in agony.

A few droplets of sweat dripped from Caesar's long, silver hair as he manipulating the large amount of mana. He felt as though the human bodies were adaptable, as such, once they got used to mana, they could potentially wield it themselves.

Naturally, the elves were much better off than the humans, but nonetheless, the male elves' magical capabilities left much to be desired. Caesar didn't expect the humans, nor elves, to become masters at wielding magic, or some sort of mana. In fact, Caesar merely wanted to test his hypothesis, and hopefully, awaken some of his soldiers.

From what he could observe thus far, everything in the world was empowered due to the richness of mana, something that didn't exist on earth. However, If that were the case, then being able to wield it was something most certainly worth their while, even if it was only a little bit.

Caesar continued to use a non-fatal quant.i.ty of magic to prepare his knights for the future. His fingers abnormally bent within the air as he commanded the mana to coil around the bodies of the knights in front of him.

This continued for another quarter of an hour before Caesar finally decided to stop. He wiped the sweat off of his forehead and breathed a deep sigh of relief whilst scrutinizing the tired knights in front of him. They carried expressions of exhaustion as they collapsed onto the ground, breathing heavily.

"Remeber that feel," Caesar said, "that power that you felt within your bodies will soon be the leading factor determining how strong you can become in the future. Similar to the beast cores you ate in the past, I will do this every week until your bodies are capable of withstanding it."

Right as his speech ended, he ordered a few servants to bring some refreshments for the exhausted knights. They delivered chilled water, tea, and even some wine, incurring the fox-kins jealousy as they ran around the training grounds.

They were covered in sweat and even some of the weaker men started to trail behind the group. The armors were heavier than the ones the knights had used in the past, and each the fox-kin felt as though they were treading through thick mud.

Not to mention the strange weapons which they were forced to carry with them as they ran, further increasing their weight load. The fox-kin possessed innately strong bodies, but they had never tapped into their potential before… instead, they focused on fire magic, which wasn't something they were very adept at.

Caesar wanted to change this fact and temper the humans and fox-kin into their respective lanes. Humans were feared due to their knowledge-seeking personality and adaptability, while the dark-races were feared due to their inhumane physiques.

He would extrapolate on these two points and train his forces until they became the elites of the elites. Caesar didn't believe in things like talent, no, he believed in hard work and effort. No genius could succeed without trying and no average person would fail after working hard.

Thus, Caesar continued to relentlessly train the fox-kin until they dropped dead tired, of course, he didn't force them to overexert and injure themselves. He then congratulated the ones who pa.s.sed the test, which was practically everyone.

He smiled gracefully as he stepped away from the training grounds, "this training will occur twice a week from now" Caesar said, "I will not take no for an answer, nor will I allow anyone to be tardy!"

The humans and fox-kin stared at each other, the dread in their eyes causing them to form a connection stronger than brotherhood. Misery loved company, and now both fox-kin and human bonded together under rather strange circ.u.mstances.
